Giolito (13-6) allowed two runs on six hits and three walks over six innings, striking out 11 and earning the win versus the Angels on Friday.

Giolito left the game with a 3-2 lead after the solid pitching performance, and an eighth-inning grand slam by James McCann secured the victory. Giolito recorded double-digit strikeouts for the second consecutive game and fourth time overall this year. He has now allowed three runs or fewer in six of his seven starts since the All-Star break. The right-hander owns a 3.41 ERA and 182:51 K:BB through 142.2 innings this season, and he lines up next to face the Rangers on Thursday.

Odorizzi didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 win over the Rangers, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings while striking out five.

The right-hander threw 59 of 99 pitches for strikes before getting the hook one out shy of his eighth quality start of the season. Odorizzi will take a 3.50 ERA and 131:46 K:BB through 126 innings into his next outing Wednesday, at home against the White Sox.

Morton (13-5) took the loss Friday, giving up an unearned run on three hits over seven innings while striking out 10 as the Rays fell 2-0 to the Tigers.

A Matt Duffy error in the fourth inning led to the only blemish on Morton's line, and eventually stuck him with his second loss in three August starts. The right-hander has been outstanding since the beginning of July, fanning double-digit batters in five of his nine trips to the mound with a 3.38 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 74:9 K:BB through 56 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Mariners.

Eovaldi will start Sunday against the Orioles if he doesn't pitch during Friday's contest, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Manager Alex Cora made a similar statement about Eovaldi working as an opener last week, but he ended up being needed to escape a late-inning jam the night before his starting assignment. The 29-year-old isn't fully stretched out as a starter since he's been working out of the bullpen, but he could apparently still be available for around 60 pitches.

Glasnow (forearm) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Monday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Glasnow has been sidelined since early May with a right forearm strain, but he resumed his throwing program a couple weeks ago and now has his first bullpen session on tap. The 25-year-old could yet pitch again this season, but he still has some work to do in building up his arm strength.

Kremer will start Friday for Triple-A Norfolk after being promoted from Double-A Bowie, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Kremer made his season debut at Bowie in May after dealing with an oblique injury and had an 1.93 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in his last 10 starts to earn the promotion. The 23-year-old has a chance for a September callup if his puts together a few good starts with Norfolk, but he may have to wait until 2020 to make his way to the majors.

McCullers (elbow) threw a flat-ground session Thursday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in November 2018, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

This is the first step for McCullers in his return from elbow surgery. He will not pitch this season for the Astros, but he should slot back into the 2020 starting rotation barring a setback.

Heaney (2-3) earned the win Thursday after holding the White Sox to three runs on four hits while striking out six over seven innings.

Making his second start since coming off the injured list, Heaney turned in a solid performance against the White Sox. Aside from giving up a pair of home runs to Jose Abreu, the southpaw showed clear signs of improvement, whiffing six batters while extending from 74 pitches in his last start to 90 pitches this time out. Through 11 appearances this season, Heaney owns a 4.76 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 64:20 K:BB. The 28-year-old will look to continue trending upward in his next start, on the road in Arlington on Tuesday.

Turnbull (3-11) allowed three runs on six hits with two walks and eight strikeouts across five innings while taking a loss against the Mariners on Thursday.

Although it wasn't one of his best outings, Turnbull still pitched pretty well and yet again got tagged with a defeat. This is the sixth time since the beginning of June where Turnbull allowed three or fewer runs but took a loss. His other numbers -- 3.75 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 106 strikeouts in 112.2 innings -- are better than his record indicates. Turnbull will pitch next at the Astros on Tuesday.

Milone (2-7) allowed two runs on six hits with no walks and three strikeouts across four innings of relief while recording the win over the Tigers on Thursday.

It was a bullpen day for the Mariners, as they started Matt Wisler as an opener. No Seattle pitcher threw more than an inning other than Milone, so he earned the victory despite yielding a pair of runs. To go with two wins, he has a 4.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 78.2 innings over 16 appearances, which includes five starts this season.
