Snell (elbow) reported feeling good after throwing Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wednesday was only Snell's second time throwing since undergoing elbow surgery in late July, and it's encouraging that the left-hander once again emerged without setbacks. A firm timetable for his return is still to be determined, but that should become clearer as he continues to throw.

Eovaldi is a candidate to start against the Orioles over the weekend, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

It sounds like Eovaldi could return to a starting role this weekend if he goes unused out of the bullpen in Wednesday's series finale against the Indians. The right-hander has looked better across four appearances in August (3.18 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 3:3 K:BB in 5.2 innings) after initially struggling following his return from the injured list in July.

Kluber (forearm) tossed four innings Tuesday in a rehab start for Double-A Akron, allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out six.

Kluber showed improvement in what was his second rehab start over the past week, retiring the first 10 batters he faced before allowing a solo home run in the fourth inning. He ran his pitch count up to 60 but once again struggled to find the zone, registering 36 strikes. Per Zack Meisel of The Athletic, the right-hander is scheduled to start for Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. Kluber will presumably increase his pitch count up to around 80 in Sunday's outing, which could be his last before rejoining the big-league rotation.

Cole (hamstring) is receiving further tests Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Cole was scratched from Tuesday's start after experiencing right hamstring discomfort, and hopefully Wednesday's tests should provide more clarity on the severity of the injury. Manager AJ Hinch said the right-hander reported that he was feeling good, but the tests could help determine a timetable for his return.

Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Montgomery (shoulder) recently completed a two-inning, 35-pitch simulated game, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Montgomery continues to slowly work his way back from a shoulder injury that he suffered earlier in the season while in the midst of his rehab for his June 2018 Tommy John surgery. While the lefty is making positive strides in his recovery, Boone was noncommittal when asked if Montgomery would pitch in the majors this season.

Carrasco (illness) is scheduled to face hitters in a simulated game Friday in Cleveland, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Carrasco, who has been out since early June while battling leukemia, is ready for the next step in his rehab after tossing a pair of live batting practice sessions on back-to-back days with no issues. The right-hander will be re-evaluated after Friday's simulated game, at which point the Indians will determine what's next for Carrasco.

German is approaching an undetermined innings limit, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Though the number of innings German will be allowed to pitch has yet to be announced, general manager Brian Cashman has acknowledged that such a limit exists. Including Tuesday's victory over Baltimore -- his league-leading 16th of the season -- German has now tossed 120 innings this year (116 in the majors and four in the minors). His career high as a pro is 123.1 innings, set in 2014 while with the Marlins organization.

Perez didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Brewers, allowing one unearned run on six hits and four walks over six innings while striking out three.

The southpaw didn't give Milwaukee hitters much to hit, tossing only 54 of 88 pitches for strikes, and the result was his ninth quality start of the year. Perez will take a 4.57 ERA and 109:52 K:BB through 128 innings into his next outing Sunday, on the road against the Rangers.

Canning did not factor into the decision against the Pirates on Tuesday, tossing four innings and giving up three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two.

Canning had been out since July 30 while dealing with elbow inflammation and looked rusty in his return to the mound, issuing three walks while tossing only 48 of 80 pitches for strikes. All three runs against him crossed the plate in the third inning when he surrendered four hits and committed a costly throwing error. Canning now sports a 4.86 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 88:29 K:BB over 83.1 innings and will have a home matchup against the White Sox on Sunday in his next scheduled start.

Means (8-8) allowed six runs on eight hits with two walks and one strikeouts across 3.2 innings while taking a loss against the Yankees on Tuesday.

Unlike other Orioles starters against the Yankees, Means wasn't done in by the long ball. He only allowed one homer and two free passes, but he tied a season high giving up eight hits. As a result, for the second straight start (both against the Yankees), Means failed to get out of the fourth inning. With three straight losses, his record has fallen to .500, and he owns a 3.76 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 84 strikeouts in 105.1 innings this season. Means will look to snap his losing streak at home against the Royals on Monday.
