German (14-2) earned the win versus Boston on Saturday, tossing seven innings and giving up two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out seven.

German was backed by heavy offensive support but gave the Yankees a strong outing nonetheless. The right-hander was nicked for solo homers by Andrew Benintendi in the second inning and Jackie Bradley Jr. in the fifth but is now one of four pitchers tied for the major-league lead with 14 victories. He'll carry a 3.98 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 114:24 K:BB over 104 innings into his next start Thursday in Toronto.

Sale (5-11) allowed eight runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out four across 3.2 innings to take the loss Saturday against the Yankees.

Sale looked good in the first three innings, allowing only a leadoff homer to D.J. LeMahieu. However, the Yankees reached him for seven runs on seven hits in the fourth, including LeMahieu's second homer. While he has a disappointing 4.68 ERA, the left-hander has still generated 193 strikeouts and holds a 1.14 WHIP across 132.2 innings. Sale will draw his next start Thursday at home against the Angels.

Manoah tossed three scoreless innings in his first two appearances for short-season Vancouver, striking out five and walking one.

As they did two years ago with Nate Pearson, the Jays are giving Manoah an easy transition to pro ball, and the 21-year-old college product predictably seems to be too much for Northwest League hitters to handle. The 11th overall pick in this year's draft may not be really tested until next season, and the development of his changeup to complement a plus fastball/slider combo and the refinement of his command and control will be the keys to his long-term potential.

Perez didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-9 win over the Royals, giving up five runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- over five innings while striking out three.

Fortunately for the southpaw, all three Kansas City homers were solo shots, and Perez actually left the game in line for his ninth win before the Royals tied it up in the sixth inning. He'll take a 4.58 ERA and 100:46 K:BB through 116 innings into his next start Wednesday, at home against Atlanta.

Lynn (14-6) struck out 10 and picked up the win in Friday's 5-4 victory over the Tigers, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings.

The right-hander delivered his 16th quality start of the season while fanning double-digit batters for the sixth time. Lynn will take a 3.71 ERA and 170:35 K:BB over 148 innings into his next outing Wednesday in Cleveland.

Clevinger (6-2) picked up the win Friday, giving up one run on three hits and four walks over 6.1 innings while striking out eight in a 7-3 victory over the Angels.

A solo homer by Mike Trout in the first inning was the only significant blemish on Clevinger's line for the night. The right-hander has now delivered four straight quality starts, and he'll take a 3.07 ERA and 80:19 K:BB over 55.2 innings into his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Rangers.

Kikuchi (4-8) allowed six runs on nine hits and struck out only one in four innings, taking the loss Friday against the Astros.

Kikuchi was done in by the long ball Friday, as all six runs were scored on four of the Astros' six homers in the game. Kikuchi has struggled recently, with five of his last 10 starts seeing the southpaw surrender five or more runs. He owns a 5.49 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 84 strikeouts in 118 innings this season. Kikuchi is expected to take his next turn versus the Padres on Wednesday.

Miley (10-4) allowed two runs on three hits and five walks while striking out six over six innings Friday, earning the win in a 10-2 victory over the Mariners.

The five walks were a season high for Miley, who otherwise pitched well to earn his fourth win in his last six starts. Only a two-run homer from Daniel Vogelbach marred the pitching performance. Miley has now allowed two runs or less in six of his last seven starts, and the left-hander carries a 3.05 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 132.2 innings. Miley lines up for a road date with the Orioles next Friday.

Rodriguez (13-5) was hit with the loss after yielding four runs on five hits and six walks while striking out eight over 6.2 innings Friday against the Yankees.

Things didn't look good for Rodriguez early on, as he surrendered a grand slam in the first inning, but he kept the Yankees off the board until exiting in the seventh. Control was an issue for the lefty, who threw 65 of 113 pitches for strikes in a 4-2 loss. Rodriguez owns a 4.19 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with a 139:50 K:BB over 135.1 innings this season.

Paxton (6-6) earned the win after allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings Friday against the Red Sox.

Paxton got off to a shaky start, surrendering a two-run homer in the first inning, but he settled down to fire five scoreless frames before being lifted after 100 pitches (60 strikes). The lefty turned in a quality start in the series opener after allowing 14 runs (11 earned) over his last two outings.
