Civale will be called up from Triple-A Columbus to start Monday against the Rangers, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old will enter the starting rotation in place of Danny Salazar, who landed on the injured list with a groin issue. Civale made his major-league debut in June and allowed two hits over six shutout innings.

Severino (lat) is tentatively scheduled to throw off a mound next Friday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Severino resumed throwing after the All-Star break and has since been building up his arm strength before returning to mound work. The 25-year-old has no official timeline for his return and could work out of the bullpen once he rejoins the Yankees.

McCreery cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

McCreery was designated for assignment earlier in the week but will remain in the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. The 26-year-old has a 3.79 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 43:25 K:BB over 40.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season.

Means (shoulder) expects to come off the injured list to start Tuesday or Wednesday against the Yankees, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Means has been throwing over the last few days and his final hurdle to being fully cleared will be a bullpen session this weekend. The 26-year-old landed on the injured list July 25 and looks as though he'll make his return after missing only a couple days more than the 10-day minimum.

Turnbull (back) is scheduled to make one more rehab start before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Turnbull looked sharp in his last outing, allowing just one hit over 3.2 scoreless innings while fanning seven against Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. He'll need to prove his health in one more rehab appearance before rejoining the big-league club, however.

Cole (13-5) picked up the win versus the Indians on Thursday, completing seven innings and giving up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four.

Cole didn't display his usual swing-and-miss repertoire -- the four strikeouts were one above his season low -- but nonetheless had little trouble dispatching Cleveland to win his ninth straight decision. The performance marked the fourth consecutive outing for Cole in which he has worked exactly seven innings and allowed a single earned run. The 28-year-old has inserted himself in the Cy Young conversation by compiling a 13-5 record complemented by a 2.87 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and league-leading 216 strikeouts over 150.2 innings this season. He'll look to continue his success when he hosts the Rockies on Wednesday in an interleague matchup.

Cease (1-4) took the loss against the Mets on Thursday, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking two as the White Sox fell 4-0.

Cease pitched well in this contest, but he wound up getting saddled with his fourth straight loss as his offense was shut out by Zack Wheeler. The rookie right-hander has managed to reach the five-inning threshold in each of his five starts, but he's given up 19 earned runs over his 28 innings, leaving him with a lackluster 6.11 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP.

Urquidy was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The move isn't very surprising given the Astros recent acquisitions of Zack Greinke, Aaron Sanchez and Joe Biagini, who were added to the major-league roster in a corresponding move. In five starts with the big-league club, Urquidy recorded an ERA of 5.87 with a 1.39 WHIP.

Luzardo (lat) felt healthy after pitching two innings in a sim game Thursday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The southpaw has been on the 10-day injured list since July 3 and could still be a few weeks away from a return, but it's encouraging to see good reports after his sim game. His next step could be a rehab appearance at the rookie level, although a timetable is unclear at this time as he works his way back to Triple-A Las Vegas. In 12.1 innings at the Triple-A level this year, Luzardo carries an ERA of 3.65 with a 14:2 K:BB.

Greinke is scheduled to start Tuesday at home against the Rockies, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Greinke will make his first start for the Astros on Tuesday after being acquired from the Diamondbacks in a last-minute blockbuster deal Wednesday. The veteran right-hander owns a solid 2.90 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 135:21 K:BB in 146 innings this season.
