Whitley (shoulder) was transferred to Double-A Corpus Christi on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Whitley has been sidelined since late May with shoulder fatigue, but he's ready to move his rehab to the upper minors after striking out nine and allowing just one hit across five scoreless innings in his most recent outing with High-A Fayetteville on Tuesday. It remains to be seen how many appearances the young righty will make with the Hooks before rejoining Triple-A Round Rock.

Urquidy (1-1) allowed six runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out one over four-plus innings to take the loss against Cleveland on Wednesday.

Urquidy entered the game on a roll but did nothing to baffle the Indians, who put runners on base in all four-plus innings. He was essentially reduced to a fastball-only arsenal as just two of his 40 secondary pitches were swung upon and missed. With the Astros' acquisition of Zack Greinke and Aaron Sanchez, Urquidy's rotation status becomes murky. At best, the Astros move Sanchez to the bullpen while Urquidy is the fifth starter. But that may last as long as it takes Brad Peacock (shoulder) to return, although the team could opt to have Peacock pitch in relief. With a couple of off days next week, manager AJ Hinch can put off a final decision on the fifth member of the rotation.

Dunn is a candidate to be called up and fill in the rotation spot left open by the trade of Mike Leake on Wednesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The right-hander is enjoying a solid season at Double-A Arkansas, posting 6-4 record, 3.59 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 100.1 innings over 19 starts. Unlike his Travelers teammate that's also considered a candidate for promotion, Justus Sheffield, Dunn has never pitched above the Double-A level.

Suarez (2-2) took the loss Wednesday as the Angels were downed 9-1 by the Tigers, giving up four runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

The southpaw hasn't been able to complete five innings in any of his five July starts, stumbling to a 5.76 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB through 20.1 innings on the month. Suarez will look to turn things around in his next outing Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Giolito gave up one run on three hits and three walks while striking out nine through seven innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.

Giolito delivered an excellent performance and recorded his sixth start with seven-plus innings and one or fewer runs allowed. The 25-year-old has an 11-5 record with a 3.39 ERA with a 10.8 K/9 through 21 starts this season. Giolito will make his next start Monday against the Tigers at Comerica Park.

Berrios (10-5) struck out 11 and allowed two hits through seven scoreless innings to take the win over the Marlins on Wednesday.

Berrios was incredibly efficient, needing only 81 pitches to get through seven innings and gathering 13 swinging strikes. The 25-year-old has a 2.80 ERA, an 8.5 K/9 and a 1.9 BB/9 through 22 starts this season. Berrios will make his next start Monday against the Braves at Target Field.

Greinke gave up two runs on two hits and three walks over five innings during Wednesday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees. He had seven strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision in what is his final game with Arizona after being traded to Houston.

Greinke served up a two-run homer to Mike Tauchman during the second frame but otherwise limited the Yankees to one hit, though his outing was over after 82 pitches due to a rain delay. The veteran right-hander has a 2.90 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 135:21 K:BB through 146 innings and figures to join the Astros' starting rotation next Tuesday or Wednesday versus the Rockies.

Greinke was traded to the Astros on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

This was a bit of a shocker, as it had been all quiet on the rumor front with Greinke. The 35-year-old righty has been excellent again this season, logging a 2.87 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 128:18 K:BB in 141 innings (22 starts). He is owed $64 million through the 2021 season, but the Astros were not on Greinke's no-trade list, so the two sides were able to work out an agreement. Moving from the National League to the American League is not ideal, but the Astros are an excellent team to bank wins on, and pitchers almost always get at least slightly better after arriving in Houston.

Wentz was traded from the Braves to the Tigers along with Travis Demeritte in exchange for Shane Greene, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.

The 21-year-old lefty was the 40th overall pick in 2016, but his stock has slipped since then. He has a 4.72 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 100:45 K:BB in 103 innings at Double-A. It's possible that he could rebound with this change of scenery and develop into a back-end starter for the Tigers.

Lynch (arm) is expected to make his next rehab appearance at Low-A Burlington before getting reinstated from High-A Wilmington's 7-day injured list, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Lynch hasn't pitched for Wilmington since June 1 after developing an arm injury that resulted in him being shut down for just over a month before he was cleared to resume throwing again. The prized young lefty has since made three rehab appearances with the Royals' rookie-level Arizona League affiliate, building up to four innings across those outings. He'll likely maintain or increase his workload in his outing for Burlington, which will likely occur later this weekend. If all goes well in that rehab start, he'll get the green light to return to Wilmington, where he posted a 3.09 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 55.1 innings before getting hurt.
