  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Twins' Kyle Gibson: Pushed back to Wednesday

Gibson will not start Sunday as scheduled and will be pushed back to start Wednesday against the A's, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Gibson was needed for an inning out of the bullpen in the Twins' 18-inning contest Thursday, and he has apparently not recovered from that outing just yet, so the Twins will instead go with a to-be-announced starter in Gibson's spot Sunday. Assuming Gibson only needs a few more days to reset his routine, he will be back on the mound for his final start of the first half Wednesday night.

  • Charlie Morton SP | ATL

Rays' Charlie Morton: Gets extra day before next start

Morton's next scheduled start will be pushed back from Monday to Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Morton crossed the 100-pitch threshold in his last two starts -- just the fourth and fifth times he has done that this season -- so manager Kevin Cash decided to give him an extra day before his next outing. Morton will still square off with the same Orioles squad he would have faced Monday on normal rest.

  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Will get extra rest

Bundy will get an extra day of rest before his next scheduled start, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Bundy was lined up to start Monday against the Rays on normal rest, but manager Brandon Hyde decided to give him an extra day, so he will take the ball Tuesday against Tampa Bay instead. The Orioles have not yet announced who will start Monday's contest.

  • Justin Dunn RP | CHW

Mariners' Justin Dunn: Invited to Futures Game

Dunn received an invitation to the 2019 All-Star Futures Game on Friday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old right-hander has been enjoying a productive season at Double-A Arkansas, and he's coming off back-to-back nine-strikeout efforts. Dunn sports a 5-3 record, 3.45 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 14 starts, but his swing-and-miss upside is arguably the most impressive aspect of his game. Dunn owns a 90:21 K:BB over 70.1 innings this season, leading to a career-high 11.5 K/9.

  • Tommy Milone SP | SEA

Mariners' Tommy Milone: Solid as primary pitcher

Milone served as the primary pitcher after an opener in an extra-inning loss to the Astros on Friday and fired five scoreless innings in which he allowed three hits and a walk while striking out two. He did not factor into the decision.

The veteran southpaw continued his successful major-league stint with yet another effective turn as a bulk reliever. Milone has yielded no more than three earned runs in all eight of his appearances for the Mariners, although Friday was his first scoreless outing. The 32-year-old sports an impressive 2.95 ERA and 0.94 WHIP across 42.2 innings, with both numbers representing considerable improvement over his respective 4.35 and 1.32 career figures in those categories. Milone figures to continue sticking with the big-league club for the foreseeable future, given the considerable flexibility he affords manager Scott Servais in terms of how the Seattle skipper deploys his pitching staff.

  • Luis Severino SP | ATH

    Yankees' Luis Severino: Suffers setback

Severino (lat) suffered a setback and won't return until mid-August at the earliest, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

He is dealing with soreness again in his lat and will be shut down for about a week, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. An MRI showed that the lat is 90 percent healed, and he will not throw until it is 100 percent healed.

  • Matt Manning SP | PHI

Tigers' Matt Manning: Cruising at Double-A

Manning has a 2.60 ERA and 102:28 K:BB over 86.2 innings with Double-A Erie this year.

In his first full season at the Double-A level, Manning has been dominant, with opponents hitting just .194 against him. The 21-year-old recently earned a spot on the American League's Futures Game roster, and a promotion to Triple-A could be in order later this year for one of the top pitching prospects in baseball.

  • Yonny Chirinos SP | MIA

Rays' Yonny Chirinos: Control issues in loss

Chirinos (7-4) took the loss in Friday's 5-0 defeat at the hands of the Rangers, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks over six innings while striking out five.

While it was technically a quality start, it was far from a sharp one. The error that led to the unearned run was Chirinos' own, and he threw only 59 of 105 pitches for strikes en route to a season-high four free passes -- he hadn't walked more than two batters in any prior outing. The right-hander will carry a 3.10 ERA and 76:21 K:BB through 93 innings into his next appearance Wednesday, at home against the Orioles.

  • Lance Lynn SP | STL

Rangers' Lance Lynn: Shuts down Rays for 10th win

Lynn (10-4) struck out 10 and picked up the win Friday, scattering three hits and a walk over eight scoreless innings in a 5-0 victory over the Rays.

Only one Tampa batter even reached third base on the night -- Willy Adames hit a leadoff double in the eighth inning, and then advanced to third on a one-out wild pitch before being stranded -- and Lynn's pitch count (112, 73 strikes) was the only thing standing between the right-hander and his second career shutout. He'll take a 4.00 ERA and 118:26 K:BB through 108 innings into his next start Wednesday, at home against the Angels.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Astros' Wade Miley: Settles for no-decision

Miley allowed one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts across six innings during a no-decision against the Mariners on Friday.

The veteran allowed a solo homer in the third inning, and that was it, but he remained on the hook for a loss until the Astros finally scored a run in the eighth. Miley has allowed just eight runs in his last four appearances, but he only has one win during that stretch. Miley is 6-4 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 80 strikeouts in 95.2 innings this season. He will start again Friday at home against the Angels.
