Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Sent to IL
Rodon was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with left elbow inflammation.
This comes a day after Rodon was tagged for three runs on five hits and two walks across just 3.2 innings during Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles. The severity of the issue is not yet known; according to James Fegan of The Athletic, the southpaw is scheduled to undergo a variety of additional tests in the coming days. Lucas Giolito (hamstring) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move, while Dylan Covey is set to take Rodon's place in the rotation for the time being.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Activated ahead of start
Giolito (hamstring) was activated ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Red Sox.
As expected, Giolito has been cleared to rejoin the starting rotation ahead of Thursday's series opener after spending two weeks on the injured list with a left hamstring strain. Prior to landing on the shelf, the right-hander notched a 5.30 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across four starts (18.2 innings). Carlos Rodon was (elbow) sent to the injured list in a corresponding move.

Bryan Garcia SP | HOU
Tigers' Bryan Garcia: Activated from minor-league IL
Garcia (elbow) was activated from the minor-league injured list Thursday and assigned to High-A Lakeland, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Garcia has been sidelined all season while recovering from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in February of 2018, but he's finally been cleared to return to game action. Because the right-hander hasn't pitched in the minors since 2017, the Tigers will ease him back into action in the lower minors before eventually returning him to Triple-A Toledo. Should Garcia rediscover some of his pre-injury form -- he compiled a 2.13 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 78 strikeouts in 55 innings between four minor-league stops in 2017 -- he could find himself in the majors later in the season.

Adalberto Mejia SP | MIN
Twins' Adalberto Mejia: On IL with calf strain
Mejia was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right calf strain, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Mejia has moved to middle relief this season but has struggled so far with an 8.74 ERA with nine walks and 11 strikeouts in 11.1 innings. Mike Morin was called up from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Knocked around in loss
Stroman (1-4) gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out three through 3.1 innings, taking a loss to the Angels on Wednesday.
Stroman allowed too many baserunners to be effective. After he delivered excellent outings in his last two starts, this was a disappointing result. The right-hander has a 1-4 record with a 2.20 ERA through seven starts this season. Stroman will look to bounce back in his next start Monday against the Twins.

Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Handed first loss in short outing
Gonzales (5-1) took the loss against the Cubs on Wednesday by giving up six runs (three earned) on five hits over only 1.2 innings. He struck out two and walked three.
Gonzales fired a scoreless first frame but fell apart during the second inning as the Cubs scored six runs and sent 12 batters to the plate. An error from Domingo Santana in the outfield certainly didn't help, but Gonzales clearly didn't have his best command Wednesday as he issued a season-high three walks in the short start. The 27-year-old has a 3.28 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB through 46.2 innings, and will look for a rebound performance next week at Yankee Stadium.
-
Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: Shelled by Royals
Snell (2-3) took the loss in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader at Kansas City by allowing seven runs on six hits over three innings. He struck out two and walked three.
Snell faced the Royals for the second time in a row Wednesday and once again failed to complete four innings. The reigning AL Cy Young winner has now given up 10 runs (nine earned) across 6.1 innings against the Royals. The 26-year-old has a 4.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB for the season and next lines up to start Monday versus the Diamondbacks.
-
Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Lasts only 3.2 innings
Rodon gave up three runs on five hits and two walks over 3.2 innings during Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles. He struck out six but did not factor in the decision.
Rodon failed to get through four innings for his second straight start, though he was able to limit the damage to three runs Wednesday. The 26-year-old has been up-and-down to begin the season and will carry a 5.19 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 46:17 K:BB into Monday's start at Cleveland.
-
Martin Perez SP | ATL
Twins' Martin Perez: Strong performance in win
Perez (4-0) gave up four hits and two walks while striking out seven over eight scoreless innings taking a win over the Astros on Wednesday.
Perez managed to get seven strikeouts while only forcing seven swinging strikes. The 28-year-old has delivered quality starts in three of his four starts after beginning the year out of the bullpen. He has a 4-0 record with a 3.41 ERA and 30:14 K:BB through 34.1 innings this season. Perez will get his next start Monday at Toronto.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Suffers forearm fracture
Kluber was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of his right forearm Wednesday after undergoing X-rays, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Kluber was struck by a 102.2-mph line drive in the right forearm during Wednesday's start at Miami. The veteran right-hander should receive a recovery timetable Thursday as he returns to Cleveland to be further evaluated. The Indians' depth in the starting rotation will be tested even further with Mike Clevinger (back) already on the 60-day injured list.
