  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Rays' Blake Snell: Strikes out 13 in finale

Snell (5-7) struck out a career-high 13 while allowing just two hits without a walk over seven shutout innings to beat the Orioles in Sunday's season finale.

Between Snell, Brad Boxberger and Chaz Roe, Tampa Bay's pitchers posted an 18:0 K:BB in a 6-0 win over a Baltimore team that looked like it couldn't wait for the season to end. The 24-year-old lefty finished strong, notching a 5-1 record over his final 10 outings while logging six quality starts in that stretch. He'll be a pivotal part of the rotation next year after finishing 2017 with a 4.04 ERA in 24 starts.

  • Angels' Parker Bridwell: Earns win in season finale

Bridwell (10-3) pitched seven scoreless innings with three strikeouts to take the win over Seattle on Sunday. He allowed just three hits and a walk.

Bridwell entered with a discouraging 6.60 ERA and 5.4 K/9 through his past six outings, so this was a solid bounce-back showing to cap off the season. While his lack of strikeout upside (5.4 K/9) definitely limits his fantasy value, Bridwell was still able to collect 10 wins and post a solid 3.64 ERA through 121 innings this season. The 26-year-old righty isn't a lock to open the 2018 campaign in the Angels' starting rotation, and in most fantasy settings, Bridwell should probably be viewed as a wait-and-see option next spring.

  • James Paxton SP | BOS

Mariners' James Paxton: Caps off 2017 with gem

Paxton pitched six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts during Sunday's loss to the Angels. He didn't factor into the decision.

The hard-throwing southpaw lobbied to make a final start this season, and he rewarded the Mariners and fantasy owners with a gem. Paxton will finish the campaign with an impressive 2.98 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 10.3 K/9. Injuries remain a concern entering the 2018 season, but there's no denying Paxton's upside when healthy.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Allows three runs in loss to Athletics

Hamels (11-6) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk across three innings to take the loss Sunday against the Athletics. He struck out five.

Hamels struggled in the third inning, allowing four straight hits to begin the frame and surrendering three runs before he was able to escape. With nothing left to play for, the veteran was lifted prior to the fourth inning after working up to just 59 pitches. So concludes what will go down as a disappointing season for Hamels, who finishes with a 4.20 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 148 innings. He dealt with multiple injuries along the way, but he still flashed his potential at times and will look to return to his best form in the 2018 campaign.

  • JC Ramirez SP | LAA

Angels' JC Ramirez: Elbow healing so far

Ramirez (elbow) said his most recent ultrasound showed that his arm is healing, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

He'll have another ultrasound in four weeks. It's unclear when Ramirez will be ready to begin an offseason throwing program, but his progress to this point is an encouraging sign as he hopes to be on the mound when spring training begin in February.

  • Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Strikes out three in finale

Montgomery struck out three and walked one while holding the Blue Jays to one run on two hits over 5.1 innings in Sunday's game against Toronto, but he did not factor in the decision.

The outing lowered his season ERA to 3.88, while pushing his big-league innings total to 155.1. He logged an additional eight innings in two minor-league starts before joining the Yankees' rotation in April. The Yankees host the Twins in the AL wild-card game Tuesday, so Montgomery seems unlikely to be on the roster for that matchup. If the season is extended beyond Tuesday, Montgomery may be shifted into the bullpen as the team shortens up its rotation.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Will throw sim game Sunday

Keuchel is scheduled to throw a simulated game against several Houston hitters at Fenway Park in Boston on Sunday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Sunday lines up as Keuchel's turn in the rotation, but the Astros aren't going to let the Red Sox, Houston's opponent in the ALDS, get a bonus look at the left-hander in a meaningless game. The next time Keuchel throws in a competitive environment is expected to be Friday, Game 2 of the ALDS. He'll be pitching on nine days rest, but Keuchel is not concerned about the layoff, noting that Sunday's simulated game keeps him on his routine and "locked in."

  • Ricky Nolasco SP | ARI

Angels' Ricky Nolasco: Solid showing in no-decision

Nolasco allowed one run on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on Saturday.

While Nolasco only picked up two strikeouts, he proved to be effective in Saturday's contest as he allowed just a single run during his time on the mound. However, his bullpen fell apart and prevented him from earning his seventh win of the year. Over 33 starts this season, Nolasco went 6-15 while posting a subpar 4.92 ERA and 1.45 WHIP.

  • Andrew Albers SP | MIN

Mariners' Andrew Albers: Gives up three runs in spot start

Albers struck out five batters and gave up three runs on six hits and a walk over 4.1 innings in Saturday's no-decision against the Angels.

Albers was called upon to start Saturday's game after Andrew Moore was scratched with a stiff neck. It wasn't his best effort of the year, as his ERA had risen from 3.19 to 3.51 when all was said and done. However, while Saturday's contest was a bit disappointing, Albers showed improvement over the 2016 campaign this season. Coming off a season in which he posted a 5.82 ERA and 1.94 WHIP, Albers will close out the year with marks of 3.51 and 1.29, respectively.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Throws five innings in final regular-season start

Kluber allowed one run on six hits while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday. He did not issue a walk.

The team capped Kluber at 81 pitches in his final regular-season tuneup before the start of the ALDS. Kluber was absolutely brilliant throughout the campaign -- he's neck and neck with Boston's Chris Sale for the AL Cy Young despite missing a month early in the season with a back injury. He may be a late-first/early-second rounder in drafts next spring.
