Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Drops to 5-8 with loss to Fish
Perez (5-8) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three batters during Monday's loss to Miami.
Perez had allowed 21 runs over 30 innings through his past five starts, so Monday's outing should be viewed as a step in the right direction. With a 4.67 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 5.9 K/9 for the campaign, his fantasy value is limited to deep settings. In favorable matchups, Perez is still a potential streaming option or low-priced flier for daily contests, but expectations should probably continue to remain in check. He projects to face the Orioles at home in his next start.

James Paxton SP | BOS
Mariners' James Paxton: Earns 10th win in impressive fashion
Paxton (10-3) logged seven dominant shutout innings during Monday's win over the Red Sox. He allowed four hits, issued no walks and recorded 10 strikeouts to pick up his 10th win of the season.
Paxton was absolutely masterful during Monday's outing, as he threw 71 of his 103 pitches for strikes and tied his career-high single-game mark of 10 strikeouts. The flame-throwing lefty has a 1.48 ERA over his past five starts and will look to carry his hot streak into his upcoming start against the Mets on Sunday.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Allows four runs in loss to Mariners
Rodriguez (4-3) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings during Monday's loss to the Mariners. He struck out six.
Rodriguez showed some signs of rust during his second start back from the disabled list. The southpaw recorded two strikeouts in the opening frame, but he was roughed up for three runs in the second inning on a Kyle Seager solo shot and Jean Segura's run-scoring double. He'll look to put together a better showing against the Royals on Sunday.

Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Impresses in first Tacoma start
Gonzales allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk over six innings in Triple-A Tacoma's 4-3 win over Sacramento on Monday. He struck out five.
Just acquired in the trade that netted the Cardinals promising slugger Tyler O'Neill, Gonzales impressed in a 91-pitch debut for the Rainiers. Factoring in his last six outings with Triple-A Memphis, the 25-year-old southpaw has rattled off seven straight quality starts, and there's potential for him to see time in the big-league rotation before the end of the season.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Athletics' Sonny Gray: Possibly being eyed by Mariners
Gray has become a subject of trade interest from the Mariners, according to a source familiar with the team's thinking, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Seattle general manager Jerry Dipoto has already stated he will only move top prospects for controllable starting pitching, which accurately describes Gray's contract status. The right-hander is under team control through the 2019 campaign and is just 27 years old, making him an appealing target. The Mariners have already traded promising slugger Tyler O'Neill this month for Cardinals left-hander Marco Gonzales, and acquiring Gray would likely require parting ways with top prospect Kyle Lewis (knee).

Alex Meyer SP | LAA
Angels' Alex Meyer: Lands on DL
Meyer was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday with right shoulder inflammation.
It's unfortunate timing for this injury to arise, as Meyer looked completely healthy and dominant during his start against the Nationals on Wednesday, tossing seven scoreless innings. The 27-year-old has a history of shoulder ailments, so this sudden trip to the disabled list is a bit concerning. There's been no word yet on his timeline, but the righty will miss at least one start.

Luke Farrell RP | WAS
Royals' Luke Farrell: Cast off 40-man roster
Farrell was designated for assignment by the Royals on Monday.
Farrell spent much of this season in Triple-A, delivering middling results, and he struggled mightily in his lone MLB start. With that in mind, the Royals cast him off the 40-man roster after they made a six-player trade to acquire Trevor Cahill and others from the Padres. Farrell will likely act as organizational depth moving forward.

Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL
Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Likely to start Friday or Saturday
Keuchel (neck) will make his next start in the big leagues either Friday or Saturday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The stud southpaw appeared in two rehab starts and only got his pitch count to 62 in those appearances, but the Astros apparently are confident that he can handle jumping back to the big leagues already. The exact date has yet to be determined, but either way, he'll be making his next start against the Tigers this weekend. Collin McHugh will slot in on whichever day Keuchel doesn't appear.
-
Chris Bassitt SP | BAL
Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Impress in recent pair of rehab outings
Bassitt (elbow) has allowed just one hit over 2.2 innings in his last two rehab outings for Triple-A Nashville while also recording three strikeouts.
The pair of impressive appearances come on the heels of back-to-back outings where Bassitt gave up four earned runs apiece on a combined 11 hits over 3.1 innings. The 28-year-old right-hander could be on the verge of a return to the majors, where he's projected to work as a reliever for the balance of the 2017 campaign.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd: Fans eight through six to grab fourth win
Boyd (4-5) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out eight batters through six innings during Sunday's win over Minnesota.
Boyd has allowed at least three runs in each of his past nine games and sports an underwhelming 5.48 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 6.4 K/9 for the campaign. Those numbers aren't moving the fantasy needle in most settings, so while it's encouraging that Boyd has won consecutive starts, expectations should remain in check. He lines up to face the Astros at Comerica Park in his next start.
