Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Tosses quality start in no-decision Sunday
Severino allowed two runs on six hits and one walk in a no-decision Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out seven.
Severino, who allowed just two men past first base through the first five innings, lost his bid for a win and a shutout on Justin Smoak's two-run home run in the sixth. He was quite efficient and needed just 98 pitches to complete seven frames, making it three straight starts that he has gone past the sixth. Severino has an excellent 22:3 K:BB over 21.1 innings in that span and will take an impressive 2.90 ERA into Saturday's matchup with the Orioles.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Takes no-decision in quality start versus Yankees
Stroman allowed two runs on five hits and one walk across six innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Yankees. He struck out four.
Stroman contained the dangerous opposing lineup for the most part, pitching effectively to contact and allowing just one extra-base hit. A pair of RBI from Matt Holiday in the fourth and sixth innings represented the only damage done against him, but the offense failed to provide him support until Justin Smoak's game-tying home run in the bottom of the sixth, removing any chance for him to earn his fourth consecutive win. Stroman struggled in his first start in May, but he has since allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of six starts to lower his ERA to a shiny 3.25 ahead of Saturday's start against the Mariners.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Struggles again, takes sixth loss
Perez (2-6) pitched 3.2 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Astros.
Perez was hit early and often by the Astros, giving up at least one run in each the four innings he pitched. The long ball was especially a problem, as he served up three, including one to George Springer to lead off the game. This was the second straight start Perez has given up five earned runs. Since three solid outings to start the season, he's lost five of his last nine with an ERA of 5.44. Perez is not scheduled to start again until next Sunday, and he'll have to bring a much better effort, as he faces Max Scherzer and the Nationals.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Expected to make next start
The Tigers hope to have Verlander (groin) make his next scheduled start, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News reports.
Verlander was sent for an MRI after leaving Sunday's outing with tightness in his groin. Early indications suggest that the injury isn't serious, but there will be more clarity on his status in the lead-up to his next scheduled start. Verlander was tagged for two runs on six hits over 2.0 innings before being pulled by manager Brad Ausmus on Sunday. Coming into Sunday, Verlander had allowed three or more runs in four of his previous five outings.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Astros' Joe Musgrove: Won't return from DL when eligible
Musgrove (shoulder) won't be activated from the disabled list when eligible ahead of Tuesday's game against the Royals, Hunter Atkins of the Houston Chronicle reports. "We're just not ready to ramp up Musgrove yet," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said on Sunday. "He's feeling better than when we put him on the DL. We're going to push him back continually and see where he fits later in the week."
After Musgrove was placed on the DL on May 31, the expectation was that he would only miss one start with the sore shoulder, but since he has yet to resume throwing, the Astros decided to push back his recovery timetable. Musgrove received a cortisone shot Friday to address the soreness, so if that ends up having the desired effect, the right-hander could throw in the next couple of days and rejoin the rotation by next weekend. David Paulino will pick up another start Tuesday while Musgrove remains sidelined.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Will kick off rehab assignment Tuesday
Rodon (biceps) will make a rehab start with High-A Winston-Salem on Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
After tossing simulated games at extended spring training for the last three weeks, Rodon is finally ready to advance to the next phase of the rehab process. The young lefty has been on the disabled list all season with upper-biceps bursitis, so it's expected that he'll require four rehab starts in the minors before rejoining the White Sox, likely at some point in late June. Mike Pelfrey should retain a spot in the rotation until Rodon is officially activated.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Exits with right groin tightness
Verlander was removed in the third inning of his start Sunday against the White Sox due to right groin tightness.
The Tigers labeled Verlander's removal as precautionary and the right-hander didn't look to be in much pain when he left the game, so if he's able to toss a bullpen session in the coming days without any complications, he should be good to go for his next scheduled start Friday against the Red Sox. Even if Verlander had been able to shake off the groin issue and remain in the game Sunday, he may have only hurt fantasy owners, as he clearly wasn't himself on the mound. He needed 72 pitches to record six outs, giving up two runs on six hits and three walks along the way.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Pulled early amid struggles, possible injury
Verlander was removed from his start Sunday against the White Sox in the top of the third inning due to an undisclosed issue, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. He was charged with two runs on six hits and three walks over two innings and struck out three batters.
The Tigers sent out the team trainer to visit Verlander on the mound on two occasions during the afternoon, with the right-hander ultimately departing after the second meeting. Verlander wasn't limping off the field and didn't see a significant dip in his velocity during the outing, so while he'll presumably be evaluated in the locker room, the team is hopeful that any physical issue that may have been afflicting the former Cy Young winner is a minor one. As the stat line illustrates, Verlander was laboring through the start before his departure, needing 72 pitches (49 strikes) to record six outs.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Rays' Alex Cobb: Blasted by Mariners in Saturday start
Cobb (4-5) gave up nine earned runs on 14 hits and two walks over five innings in Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Mariners. He struck out three.
The right-hander endured his worst start of the season against a Seattle offense that seems to finally be snapping out of a prolonged funk. Cobb got into trouble early by giving up three runs in the second after being staked to a 1-0 lead, and he continued to pitch to heavy contact the rest of the way. A pair of home runs surrendered to Nelson Cruz and Mike Zunino put a cap on his forgettable outing that included season highs in hits and runs surrendered. The 29-year-old will look to bounce back in a Thursday home start versus the White Sox.

Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Takes loss Saturday vs. Boston
Bundy (6-4) pitched five strong innings, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox.
His lone walk in the fourth inning was followed by a Hanley Ramirez two-run homer that led to Bundy suffering his third loss in four starts. He's had some tough luck lately, but the right-hander's also tallied a 1.6 HR/9 over his last eight starts after not giving up a deep ball through his first four games. The 24-year-old Bundy will toe the rubber against the Yankees in his next start Friday.
