Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander is scheduled to make a second injury rehab start at Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, manager Brad Ausmus said, per the Detroit Free Press.
Verlander threw 79 pitches in his first rehab start on Sunday. He's on the disabled list with a triceps injury. Ausmus said that Verlander felt "normal soreness" after the start.
Ausmus said he "wouldn't be surprised, unless something unforseen happens," if Saturday was Verlander's last rehab start.

Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (ankle) will not start Friday
Twins starter Ricky Nolasco has been ruled out for his next start on Friday against the Brewers. Nolasco, who left his last start on Sunday with ankle soreness, underwent an MRI which showed no structural damage in his ankle and he is hoping to avoid the disabled list, according to the Pioneer Press.
"He had an old injury in there that was causing some impingement," manager Paul Molitor said, per MLB.com. "Every time he everted with his right foot and pushed off that rubber, he was getting a lot of pain. The trainers feel that they have a fairly good chance of getting him back on track rather quickly. And maybe he can avoid the DL.
"We thought three days of treatment before he got on the mound. If he's good, we'll see where to slate him in here as we go forward through the Milwaukee series."
The team has not indicated whether Nolasco would be able to make his next turn in the rotation, which would come on June 10 against the Royals.

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays' Jake Odorizzi allows four runs in win vs. Orioles
Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi earned a win on Sunday, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks in six-plus innings while striking out six in his team's 9-5 victory over the Orioles.
Odorizzi (4-5) served up three homers in the game, two courtesy of Delmon Young in the first three innings and a two-run shot with no outs in the seventh to the last batter he faced. He had surrendered just two home runs over his first 10 starts of the season before struggling to keep the ball in the park on Sunday.
"Odo was Odo. Perfect again, kind of what we've come to anticipate," manager Kevin Cash said to the Tampa Tribune. "Probably a little gassed going back out there, but the value of him trying to get three more outs was beneficial for our bullpen. It didn't work out, but he pitched a heck of a ballgame."
Odorizzi owns a 2.61 ERA and 59:14 K:BB ratio in 72 1/3 innings. He's slated to face the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. -

Tigers' Justin Verlander throws 79 pitches in rehab debut Sunday
Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, giving up three earned runs on six hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings while striking out three.
"I feel good," Verlander said, per MLive.com. "No issues in regard to the injury. That's obviously the most important thing coming away from today."
Verlander has yet to pitch with the Tigers this season due to a triceps injury, but he was able to throw 79 pitches in his rehab debut despite the mediocre results. Manager Brad Ausmus previously said that a decision about Verlander's next step would be made after Sunday's outing.
"I think it's just a matter of how I feel," Verlander said after the outing. "Obviously, your preference isn't to make another one. I want to help the (Tigers) in any way I can."
If he's deemed ready to return, his season debut would likely come against the White Sox in Chicago next weekend.

Twins' Ricky Nolasco exits game with ankle injury
Twins pitcher Ricky Nolasco was removed from Sunday's game against the Blue Jays due to a sore right ankle, FOX Sports North reports.
Nolasco was checked out by a trainer alongside manager Paul Molitor in the second inning of Sunday's game, but he was deemed healthy enough to remain in after throwing a few warmup pitches. That sentiment wouldn't last, as Nolasco soon drew another visit from the trainer and was removed from the game after giving up a pair of singles to open the second inning.
Nolasco was replaced on the mound by J.R. Graham. The starter is day-to-day moving forward but will undergo an MRI on the injured ankle.
