Williamson (shoulder) will be shut down from throwing for at least seven days, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The left-hander was pulled off his rehab assignment due to persistent issues with his shoulder, and he'll stop throwing entirely for at least a brief period while he and the club consider different options for how to proceed with his recovery. Williamson has yet to pitch for the Reds this season due to the shoulder sprain, and it's now questionable whether he'll be able to return ahead of the All-Star break.

Gray (elbow) will throw 50-55 pitches during a rehab start with Single-A Fredericksburg on Sunday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Gray got up to 76 pitches during a live BP session Tuesday but will have a smaller workload in his first rehab appearance. If all goes well Sunday, the right-hander will head to Double-A Harrisburg for another rehab start. Gray will likely need at least one more outing after the start at Double-A , making late June a feasible timeline for his return.

Wicks (forearm) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Wicks will be back with the Cubs for the first time since late April after sustaining a forearm strain in his throwing arm. He's completed 3.1 innings in each of his last two rehab starts and was stretched out to 65 pitches in his latest appearance. While Wicks previously served as the Cubs' fifth starter, rookie Ben Brown has impressed as part of the rotation and could push Wicks to the bullpen. Before going down, Wicks had a 4.70 ERA across 23.0 innings.

The Brewers optioned Ashby to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

The Brewers are down multiple starters due to injury, so this move seems to reflect their lack of faith in Ashby. The left-hander made a start Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing just two runs but walking five over five innings. He will remain stretched out in the Nashville rotation.

Peralta is scheduled to start Saturday against the Tigers, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

The right-hander initially lined up to start Friday's series opener, but Tobias Myers will instead take the ball in that contest. Peralta has given up at least one homer in each of his past four starts, though he's still been effective over the last three with a 2.55 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 25:4 K:BB across 17.2 innings.

Williamson threw four shutout innings Sunday and allowed just one hit in his last rehab start with Triple-A Louisville, showing good velocity. However, there's evidently renewed concern with the left shoulder strain which has kept him sidelined all season.

Myers will start Friday's game in Detroit, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Myers was available in relief for Wednesday's game against the Phillies after being recalled from Triple-A Nashville earlier that day, but since he wasn't needed, he'll be thrown back into the rotation this weekend against the Tigers. The 25-year-old has made six starts and one relief appearance for the Brewers this season, posting a 5.40 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 innings. Myers could be needed for additional starts after Friday as Milwaukee battles numerous injuries to its rotation.

Falter (3-3) took the loss Thursday against the Dodgers, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks across four innings. He struck out six.

Falter's start began and ended poorly, as he yielded four runs in the first inning --including a three-run home run by Freddie Freeman -- before getting pulled after allowing a solo homer to Teoscar Hernandez to lead off the fifth. The outing marked Falter's first time allowing more than three runs since April 29 and snapped a streak of four straight quality starts. Through 68.1 innings, Falter owns a 3.69 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. He's lined up to face the Cardinals in St. Louis on Wednesday.

Buehler didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out three.

After needing 78 pitches to get through three frames, Buehler didn't come out for the fourth, marking the 29-year-old's shortest start of 2024. He surrendered a two-run home run to Nick Gonzales in the third inning, the right-hander's seventh long ball allowed in 28.0 innings. Buehler's been shaky since returning from Tommy John surgery, yielding exactly three runs in five of his six starts this season to fuel a 4.82 ERA. He's lined up for a home start against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Senga (shoulder) is expected to throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Senga recently had a setback in his recovery from a right shoulder injury when he experienced some tightness in his triceps. He was shut down for a bit after being given a cortisone injection, but he's almost ready to resume mound work. The expectation is that Senga won't make his season debut until after the All-Star break.
