Rea is expected to pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Jared Koenig in Tuesday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Koenig is expected to receive his second opener assignment in as many days after he needed just five pitches to retire the Phillies' top three hitters in Monday's 3-1 win. Look for Koenig to work no more than an inning or two Tuesday before turning the game over to Rea, who previously worked behind Koenig on May 25 in Boston. The arrangement ended up working out well for Rea's fantasy managers, as he picked up the win against the Red Sox that day while allowing two runs and striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.

Peterson is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals in Washington, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

With a pair of off days Thursday and Friday ahead of their two-game series versus the Phillies in London this weekend, the Mets opted to condense their rotation from six to five men. Peterson ended up making the cut, as the Mets instead optioned rookie Christian Scott to Triple-A Syracuse last weekend. After returning from the 60-day injured list last week, Peterson drew a tough matchup in the Dodgers for his 2024 Mets debut, but he held his own against one of baseball's best offenses, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings. He'll get a more favorable draw Tuesday, facing off against a Nationals offense that ranks 27th in the majors with an 81 wRC+ versus left-handed pitching for the season.

Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that Groome (undisclosed) has been suspended one year for violating the league's gambling policy, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.

MLB's investigation revealed that Groome made 24 bets on the Red Sox's major-league club while he was assigned to their High-A affiliate in Greenville. He didn't appear in any of the games on which he bet and MLB has determined that the outcomes of the games weren't compromised. Groome is currently on Triple-A El Paso's 7-day injured list due to an undisclosed issue.

Houser gave up two hits and two walks over 2.1 scoreless relief innings Monday to record his first hold of the season in Monday's win over the Nationals. He failed to strike out a batter.

It was far from a dominant performance, but Houser was able to protect an 8-5 lead after taking the ball from Tylor Megill to begin the sixth inning. Houser has adjusted well to a long-relief role so far, allowing two earned runs in 12.1 innings over five appearances, but his 5:7 K:BB suggests his luck won't last. Monday's hold was just the second of his career, with the other coming back in 2019 when he filled a similar swingman role with the Brewers.

Megill (1-2) picked up the win Monday against Washington, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks. He struck out four in five innings of work.

Megill made his third start since returning from a shoulder injury on May 20, notching his first win. The right-hander gave up his first home run of the season, a two-run shot by Joey Gallo in the fourth inning. Despite earning the win, the 28-year-old yielded four earned runs and recorded just four strikeouts, both season-worsts. Megill has now compiled a 3.00 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and a 24:9 K:BB across 21 innings. He will look to improve in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday versus Miami.

Gore (4-5) took the loss Monday against the Mets, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and four walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Gore loaded the bases with one out in the fifth inning before departing, unfortunately reliever Dylan Floro allowed all three runners to score, adding three earned runs to Gore's stat line. Monday's outing was very uncharacteristic for the southpaw, who recorded a season-low two strikeouts and allowed more than two earned runs for the first time since April 19. After tonight's rough outing, the 25-year-old sports a 3.57 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched. Gore will look to rebound in his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend versus Atlanta.

Nelson allowed two runs on six hits over 7.2 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out one during the win over the Giants.

Nelson gave up one run through six innings before Heliot Ramos knocked a solo shot in the seventh. It was Nelson's longest start of the year and his first time finishing more than six innings. He needed only 80 pitches to do so, but his one strikeout and four whiffs weren't very impressive. Nelson dropped his ERA to 5.44 with a 32:13 K:BB through 48 innings. His next start is projected to be in San Diego.

Gibson did not factor into the decision in Monday's loss to the Astros, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Gibson allowed a two-run home run to Yordan Alvarez in the third inning and was pulled with a 4-3 lead in the sixth after allowing a run and loading the bases. Andrew Kittredge was able to get out of the jam, but the Astros later rallied for four runs in the eighth. Despite faltering late, Gibson has now pitched into the sixth inning in 10 of his 12 starts this season. In those 12 games, Gibson has posted a 3.69 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 60:28 K:BB. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Rockies on Saturday.

Waldron gave up a run on two hits over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out four during the loss to the Angels.

Waldron turned in a second straight quality start Monday, allowing only one run in the fourth inning. He's given up two or fewer runs in five consecutive outings but has finished at least six innings just twice in that span. Still, his ERA has fallen from 5.82 to 3.98 during this run. Waldron has produced a 64:19 K:BB through 63.1 innings and hasn't allowed a long ball since May 11. He's currently in line to face Arizona at home this weekend.

Feltner (1-5) yielded eight runs on 10 hits over 4.1 innings Monday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Reds.

Feltner began his start with a scoreless first inning, but that was the only positive in what became a long night for Colorado's pitching staff. The Reds piled eight runs on Feltner, including back-to-back three-run innings in the second and third. He was knocked from the game after 4.1 frames for the second straight start and saw his ERA jump to 6.22 through 63.2 innings. Since the start of May, he's given up at least five runs in four of his six starts. Feltner's next outing is projected to be in St. Louis.
