Kelly disclosed Sunday that he was diagnosed with a teres major strain of his right shoulder following his initial MRI and is on track to receive another MRI on Monday in Phoenix, ESPN.com reports.

Kelly had been scheduled to start Sunday's series finale in San Francisco, but he was scratched after experiencing discomfort while playing catch Saturday before the MRI confirmed that he was dealing with a shoulder strain. More information on the severity of the strain could be available after Monday's MRI, but for the time being, the Diamondbacks are holding out hope that the right-hander will avoid a trip to the 15-day injured list. Slade Cecconi was called up from Triple-A Reno to start in Sunday's 5-3 win and will likely be in store for additional turns through the rotation if Kelly is shut down for any length of time.

Atlanta recalled Elder from Triple-A Gwinnett ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Marlins at Truist Park.

Elder will take over the rotation spot of Darius Vines, who was optioned to Triple-A after making two starts following Spencer Strider's season-ending elbow injury. A 2023 All-Star, Elder faded down the stretch last season and missed out on a spot in Atlanta's rotation coming out of spring training, but he's looked sharp through three starts at Gwinnett, logging a 3.31 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB in 16.1 innings. While he hasn't shown the ability to make bats miss at a prolific rate (18.2 percent) over 228.2 innings in the majors, Elder has shown the ability to induce weak contact and keep the ball in the yard. He'll make for an attractive streaming option Monday versus a struggling Miami offense and could have long-term appeal in light of Strider's absence along with the fact that he'll be supported by one of the top offenses in baseball.

Davis is set to receive an MRI on his right shoulder Monday, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Summoned from Triple-A Albuquerque to serve as the 27th man for the Rockies' doubleheader Sunday with the Mariners, Davis came on in relief in the second game of the twin bill, covering three innings while allowing three earned runs on five hits in Colorado's 10-2 loss. He was pulled in the seventh inning with what the Rockies labeled as shoulder discomfort, but a more precise diagnosis for his injury won't be known until the results of his MRI are read. Colorado has already returned Davis to Triple-A Albuquerque, so if he needs to be shut down for any period of time, he'll likely go on the Triple-A club's 7-day injured list.

Vines (0-1) was the pitcher of record in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Rangers, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out two over five innings. He was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett following the game, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic.

Making his second start for Atlanta, Vines cruised through the first three innings before running into trouble in the fourth. Evan Carter led off the frame with a solo shot to right center before Andrew Knizner put the Rangers in front with a three-run blast. Outside of the fourth inning, Vines held his own against a dangerous lineup, but he'll head back to Gwinnett nonetheless to gain further seasoning. Atlanta will call up Bryce Elder from Gwinnett to take replace Vines on the 26-man active roster ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Marlins.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson implied Friday that Turnbull will likely move to the bullpen after he starts Wednesday's game in Cincinnati, MLB.com reports.

Taijuan Walker (shoulder) tossed 6.1 innings and 102 pitches in his latest rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, setting him up to return from the 15-day injured list and take back a spot in the rotation next weekend in San Diego. Rather than making room for both Walker and Turnbull and expanding the rotation to six men, the latter is poised to head to the bullpen as the Phillies look to manage his innings. Even with Turnbull's upcoming move to relief, Thomson is optimistic that the right-hander can get enough work to stay stretched out in the event a spot in the rotation opens up again. Turnbull has been tremendous thus far for any managers in deeper mixed leagues or NL-only leagues that scooped him up in the later rounds of drafts, as he's gone 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across 22 innings.

Walker (shoulder) struck out one and allowed four earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in the third start of his rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Though he's struck out just two batters while walking six over his last two rehab appearances with Lehigh Valley, Walker appears ready to return from the 15-day injured list from a workload standpoint. He tossed 102 pitches while reaching the seventh inning in Sunday's outing, making him an option to rejoin the Philadelphia rotation as soon as this upcoming weekend in San Diego if the Phillies elect to bring him back. The Phillies are expected to maintain a five-man rotation upon Walker's return, with Spencer Turnbull likely to move to the bullpen in spite of his strong start to the season (1.23 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, 22:7 K:BB in 22 innings), according to MLB.com reports.

Musgrove (3-2) got the win Sunday over the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out three over seven innings.

Musgrove reached seven innings for the first time this season and the first time since July 4 of last year. Most of the damage against him in this one came from the long ball when Davis Schneider and Ernie Clement took him deep in back-to-back innings early on. Schneider then later grounded in a run in the seventh before Musgrove's day concluded. He's exhibiting lower strikeout numbers early on compared to past seasons and has five or fewer strikeouts in all but one start thus far. Musgrove will take a 5.74 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 23:11 K:BB (31.1 innings) into his next start, which projects to come against the Phillies.

Glasnow (4-1) earned the win over the Mets on Sunday, scattering seven hits across eight scoreless innings while striking out 10.

Glasnow rebounded from his worst outing of the year with a dominant performance against the Mets. All seven hits he gave up were singles, and he was able to last eight innings for just the third time in his career. He became the first pitcher this season to toss eight scoreless frames while racking up double-digit strikeouts and ended his day in style by punching out Tyrone Taylor with the bases loaded. Glasnow owns a 2.92 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 44:9 K:BB in 37 innings and projects for his next turn to be on the road against Toronto.

Houser (0-2) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing eight runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three over four innings.

Houser had given up just two runs through four innings after Shohei Ohtani took him deep in the third, but he was unable to get an out in the fifth and wound up being charged with six runs in the frame. The home run to Ohtani was the first Houser's given up this year, though his command continues to be a struggle, as he now owns a 12:14 K:BB to go along with a 7.45 ERA and 1.76 WHIP in 19.1 innings. The 31-year-old will look to bounce back in his next outing, which projects to come against the Cardinals.

He'll now head back to Albuquerque after serving as the team's 27th man Sunday, but it's unclear if the shoulder issue will force him to the Triple-A club's 7-day injured list.
