Lynn (10-11) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up eight runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over 4.2 innings as the Dodgers fell 11-4 to the Marlins. He struck out only one.

After a run of four straight strong outings following his acquisition by Los Angeles, Lynn has reverted back to being the homer-prone disaster he was with the White Sox to begin the season. Over his last three starts, the veteran right-hander has been taken deep eight times in 15 innings, leaving him with a 4.95 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB through 40 frames as a Dodger. Lynn is also the first pitcher to get tagged for at least 40 homers in a season since Mike Leake in 2019, and at his current pace the major-league record of 50, set by Bert Blyleven in 1986, might even be within reach. The team could shuffle its rotation around in the absence of Julio Urias (administrative leave), but if Lynn stays on turn, his next start would come at home against the Padres early next week.

Richardson (0-2) took the loss Wednesday as the Reds were downed 8-4 by the Mariners, surrendering seven runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

The rookie right-hander wasn't fooling anyone, serving up long balls to Mike Ford, J.P. Crawford and Cal Raleigh and managing only seven swinging strikes among his 95 pitches. Richardson has yet to last five innings in any of his four big-league starts, but with three-fifths of the Reds' already patchwork rotation currently stuck in the COVID-19 protocols, the team doesn't have many other options to send to the mound. If he makes another start, Richardson's next turn would come on the road next week in Detroit.

The Reds list Greene (illness) as their probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Greene remains on the COVID-19-related injured list but returned to Cincinnati on Tuesday and looks ready to reclaim his spot in the rotation this weekend. His previous start Aug. 30 was the best of three outings since being reinstated off the 60-day injured list Aug. 20 after an extended absence due to a hip injury.

Peralta did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against the Pirates. He struck out four.

After surrendering a solo homer to Ke'Bryan Hayes in the first inning, Peralta held the Pirates scoreless over the next four frames. However, the right-hander would go on to be charged with another two runs in the sixth before being relieved by Trevor Megill. Peralta recorded just four strikeouts in the contest, the fewest he's posted in a start since June 1, and he's now allowed a home run in three consecutive outings. Through two September starts he holds a 3.18 ERA to go along with a 14:1 K:BB.

Strider (16-5) took the loss against St. Louis on Wednesday, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five batters over 2.2 innings.

Strider struggled from the start of the contest, allowing four runs on three hits and a walk in the first frame. He got through the second unscathed despite allowing another hit, then issued two free passes around two hits in the third before departing with two outs in the inning. It was a frustrating start against a middle-of-the-pack team in terms of scoring, both for the hurler and for fantasy managers who roster him in head-to-head leagues currently in the playoffs. Strider has been one of the best pitchers in the game this season, but this was a good reminder that he isn't immune to blow-ups, as he's now allowed at least five runs in an outing five different times through 28 starts.

Hudson (6-1) earned the win over Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two batters over five innings.

Hudson was staked to an early 6-0 lead before yielding two runs in the fourth inning. He was still ahead 7-2 entering the sixth but couldn't record an out in that frame, allowing four straight baserunners -- three of whom crossed the plate -- before his departure. Hudson nonetheless collected the win, his fifth over his past seven outings. He's settled into a spot in the Cardinals' rotation and should remain there for the rest of the campaign, as he's posted a passable 4.54 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 41.2 innings across seven starts since the beginning of August.

Butto settled for a no-decision against the Nationals on Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 6.1 innings.

Butto was outstanding through five frames, giving up just four hits and one walk while keeping Washington scoreless. He returned for the seventh and yielded a pair of singles before exiting with one out and a 2-0 lead, and he lost his chance at a victory when both baserunners crossed the plate following his departure. Despite the disappointing ending, this was easily Butto's best outing of the campaign, as he picked up his first quality start and recorded a season-high strikeout total. The right-hander has a good chance of sticking in the Mets' rotation given the solid outing and the fact that Carlos Carrasco is out for the season with a fractured pinky finger.

Adon allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.

Adon yielded a run in the first inning but didn't let the Mets score again until the fifth. He departed with a 2-0 deficit, though he was taken off the hook when the Nationals scored three times late in the contest. Adon threw just 45 of 80 pitches for strikes and walked a season-high three batters, but he also recorded 12 swinging strikes and notched his second-highest total of the campaign with six punchouts. The right-hander has been up-and-down since getting his second call-up of the season Aug. 5, and overall he has an uninspiring 5.56 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB over 34 innings.

Soroka (forearm) will be shut down for the remainder of the season, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Tests didn't reveal any structural damage in Soroka's forearm, but with less than a month left in the season, Atlanta will put him on the shelf and focus on getting him ready for the start of spring training. In his first major-league season since 2020, Soroka posted a 6.40 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over 32.1 innings.

Wicks (3-0) allowed two runs on nine hits across 6.2 innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Giants. He had no walks and one strikeout.

Wicks was plenty hittable, though he managed to mostly stay out of trouble and keep his record perfect during his rookie campaign. The 23-year-old missed more bats in his previous two starts, striking out 12 over 10 total innings, but the Cubs and fantasy managers should still be happy with Wednesday's results. Wicks figures to stick in the rotation as Chicago fights for a playoff spot, with his next scheduled start set for Monday against the Rockies at the notoriously tricky Coors Field.
