Wright (arm) is expected to start late this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Wright is dealing with arm fatigue that will keep him out through the first three games of Atlanta's series against the Mets, but Wright and Max Fried (concussion) are expected to rejoin the rotation late this week. Wright will likely start Thursday against the Mets or Friday against the Astros.

Buehler will undergo season-ending elbow surgery Aug. 23.

Buehler sustained a Grade 2 flexor strain in his right elbow June 10 and spent the last two months recovering. Although the Dodgers hoped that the right-hander would be able to return sometime in September, he'll ultimately be forced to miss the remainder of the season. The exact nature of the procedure, which will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, isn't yet known, so it's unclear whether Buehler will be ready to pitch in time for spring training in 2023.

Fried (concussion) is expected to return from the 7-day injured list late this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Atlanta hasn't yet announced its starting pitchers beyond Wednesday, but Fried and Kyle Wright (arm) are in the mix to rejoin the rotation. Over three starts since the All-Star break, Fried has posted a 2.37 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 19 innings.

Cavalli struck out a season-high 11 batters over seven innings Saturday for Triple-A Rochester in a win over Norfolk. He gave up only one run on three hits and two walks.

The 24-year-old right-hander has had a roller coaster season, but Cavalli looked like a future big-league ace Saturday, tossing 64 of 96 pitches for strikes and fanning the side in three different innings. Since the beginning of July, Cavalli has a 1.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB through 31.2 innings over six starts, and he appears to be back on track to make a significant push for a rotation spot in Washington to begin the 2023 campaign.

Mikolas (9-9) earned the win against the Brewers on Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out six and walking none over eight innings.

The Brewers could not get much going against an efficient Mikolas, who threw 64 of 99 pitches for strikes in Sunday's contest. The righty bounced back well after allowing 10 runs in 2.2 innings to the Rockies in his last appearance. Mikolas picked up his 16th quality start of the year, his sixth in his last eight games. He will take a 3.44 ERA into his next appearance.

Ashby did not factor into the decision against the Cardinals on Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five and walking two over six innings.

Ashby pitched well Sunday, throwing 51 of 79 pitches for strikes across six frames. He limited the damage to two earned runs, both solo shots. Ashby lasted six innings for the fourth time in 16 starts this season, pitching much more efficiently than in previous contests. This was his third quality start of the year, and helped improve his ERA to 4.24.

Dunn allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in Sunday's win over the Cubs. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Dunn served up three home runs in the rough outing, including a two-run shot to Patrick Wisdom in the second inning and another two-run homer in the fourth to Yan Gomes. The 26-year-old righty has given up four home runs through two starts (8.1 innings) at the big-league level this season. His 6.92 ERA with Triple-A Louisville won't inspire much confidence, either. Assuming Dunn gets another turn in the rotation -- mostly due to Cincinnati's injury situation -- he's expected to start in Pittsburgh next weekend.

Snell (5-6) allowed three hits and no walks while striking out 10 in six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Nationals on Sunday.

Snell gave up five runs in 3.2 innings during his final start prior to the All-Star break, but he's been dominant in his five starts since then and has posted a 4-1 record across that span. The southpaw has posted a 0.94 ERA, 39:5 K:BB and 0.91 WHIP in 28.2 innings over his five starts to begin the second half and tentatively lines up for a rematch against the Nationals at home Friday.

Garrett yielded five hits and three walks over six scoreless innings in Sunday's loss to Atlanta. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.

Garrett was in line for the victory before Atlanta flipped the game in the ninth inning. He'd been tagged with 11 runs (10 earned) over his previous three outings since he last turned in a quality start. The 25-year-old lefty lowered his season ERA to 3.67 alongside a 71:17 K:BB through 68.2 frames. Garrett is projected to face the Dodgers on the road next weekend.

Soroka (Achilles) will begin a rehab assignment at High-A Rome on Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Soroka resumed facing hitters in early July, but his recovery process was slowed when he was hit in the knee by a comebacker while pitching in live batting practice. The right-hander will likely require a fairly lengthy rehab assignment and isn't expected to rejoin the major-league club until at least September.
