Fried (8-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on five hits over seven innings in a 9-1 victory over the Reds. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Atlanta jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, and that was all the support Fried would need. The southpaw fired 63 of 94 pitches for strikes en route to his third straight quality start and 12th in his last 14 trips to the mound, and Fried will take a sharp 2.66 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 96:16 K:BB through 101.1 innings into his next outing.

Falter didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals. giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out five.

Called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley earlier in the day, the southpaw was on the hook for the loss before the Phillies rallied to tie the score in the fifth inning. Falter tossed 66 pitches (47 strikes) before exiting, and he may not be done bouncing between Triple-A and the majors as Zach Eflin (knee) isn't expected to be sidelined for long. Falter should still line up for at least one or two more starts before Eflin is back depending on how the Phillies handle Monday's off day, but his 4.88 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB through 24 big-league innings this year don't suggest he'll be an appealing fantasy option during that time.

Mikolas (5-6) took the loss Friday as the Cardinals were downed 5-3 by the Phillies, giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out one.

Most of the damage off Mikolas came in the fifth inning after a Nolan Arenado error sparked a rally for Philadelphia. The right-hander saw his quality start streak end at four, but Mikolas still sports an impressive 2.61 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 79:21 K:BB through 100 innings on the year.

Gray (6-5) took the loss Friday as the Nationals fell 6-3 to the Marlins, coughing up six runs on 10 hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Only three of the season-high 10 hits off the right-hander went for extra bases, including a Brian Anderson solo shot in the third inning, but Gray couldn't get outs when he needed to and four straight singles to lead off the sixth helped spell the end of his night. The performance snapped a string of five straight starts in which he'd allowed two runs or fewer, and Gray will take a 4.22 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 88:35 K:BB through 81 innings into his next outing.

Rogers (4-6) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over five innings in a 6-3 victory over the Nationals. He struck out four.

The southpaw put together one of his better efforts of 2022, but Rogers still issued multiple free passes for the 10th time in 15 starts and got the hook after 76 pitches (49 strikes) despite the Marlins holding a 6-1 lead. Rogers is showing no real signs of turning things around, and since the beginning of June, he carries a 6.07 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 25:18 K:BB through 26.2 innings.

Peterson (5-1) earned the win Friday, allowing three runs on five hits and zero walks over six innings against the Rangers. He struck out 10.

Peterson was bumped up to start Friday after Chris Bassitt landed on the COVID-19 injured list, though he was on full rest. The left-hander ended up matching his career high with 10 strikeouts, working around a couple solo homers en route to his fifth win of the season. Peterson has allowed a total of five earned runs in his last three starts with a sparkling 25:2 K:BB in 18.1 innings over that span. He told Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News after the game that he will likely go on the paternity list Saturday.

Snell allowed a run on four hits and four walks while striking out 12 in five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

This was arguably Snell's best start of the year, though he gave up a solo home run to Max Muncy and walked four batters for the second time in eight starts. Snell still remains in search of his first win, as he was outpitched by Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin in this one. Snell has a 5.13 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 50:23 K:BB across 40.1 innings. He's projected for a home start versus the Giants next week.

Gonsolin (10-0) allowed a run on four hits and no walks while striking out eight over 7.2 innings to earn the win Friday over the Padres.

Gonsolin was both dominant and efficient, needing 92 pitches (73 strikes) to get through his longest start of the season. Only a Trent Grisham solo shot blemished his line in this one, which saw Gonsolin become the first National League pitcher to reach 10 wins this year. He's posted an excellent 1.54 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 77:23 K:BB through 81.2 innings in his 15 starts. The right-hander will look to keep up his strong play in a projected home start versus the Rockies next week.

Cobb allowed three hits and a walk while striking out three in five scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Friday.

Cobb matched White Sox starter Lance Lynn for five frames, which was the former's longest start since returning from a neck strain June 19. Per Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News, Cobb was removed after five innings to help ease him back in action -- the right-hander had tossed just 67 pitches (42 strikes) before exiting, but it doesn't sound like a setback was involved. He has a 4.94 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB in 51 innings across 11 starts overall. Cobb will continue working on stretching out ahead of next week's projected road start in Arizona.

Burnes (7-4) yielded one run on one hit and four walks over six innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over the Pirates.

Burnes got through five shutout frames before allowing a run on a wild pitch in the sixth. His four walks tied a season high from June 9 but he still owns a terrific 124:25 K:BB through 99.1 frames. Over his last six starts, Burnes has registered a 2.59 ERA with 57 punchouts through 41.2 innings. The 27-year-old righty will carry a 2.36 ERA into his projected home start against the Cubs next week.
