Ashcraft allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in Sunday's win over Toronto. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Ashcraft allowed an RBI single to Matt Chapman in the second inning followed by Bo Bichette's RBI groundout in the third. The 24-year-old had started seven games with Triple-A Louisville this season prior to making his MLB debut Sunday. He threw 76 pitches and leaned heavily on a mix of sliders and sinkers, with the latter touching 99 miles per hour. Ashcraft could get another turn in the rotation, as the Reds are dealing with several injured starters.

Anderson (3-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Marlins.

The only damage against Anderson through the first five innings was Garrett Cooper's sacrifice fly in the first. He then allowed another run in the sixth and was charged with two more in the seventh without recording an out in the frame. It was the first time that Anderson has allowed more than three runs in an outing since his season debut April 10. The 6-foot-3 righty saw his ERA climb back to 4.07 through 42 frames. Anderson is projected for a rematch at home against Miami next week.

Alcantara (4-2) yielded three unearned runs on six hits and two walks over nine innings Sunday, striking out seven and earning a win over Atlanta.

Alcantara allowed one run in the fifth and two in the ninth but wasn't charged with any earned runs due to errors. He set new season highs with 115 pitches, seven punchouts and 25 swinging strikes. The 26-year-old righty has given up two runs over 24 innings in his last three outings, dropping his season ERA to 2.11 through 59.2 frames. Alcantara will look to keep the momentum rolling in Atlanta next weekend.

Contreras was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Contreras made three relief appearances for the Pirates in April, and he posted a 3.52 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 7.2 innings during that time. However, he's been building up as a starter in Indianapolis, and he's recorded a 2.66 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 20.1 innings over five minor-league starts. The Pirates' rotation is healthy but has had some struggles recently, so it seems likely that Contreras will join the rotation after working as a starter in the minors.

Wood (3-3) picked up the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four in three innings in a 10-1 defeat Sunday against San Diego.

Wood was in trouble all game and allowed baserunners in each inning. He pitched around a leadoff single in the third after giving up a run in each of the first two innings. In the fourth, the first three batters reached safely, plating a run, and Wood was replaced with two runners on base, and both eventually scored on a Manny Machado double. It was easily the worst start of the year for Wood and only the second time he allowed more than three runs. Opponents have a .303 batting average against the veteran in a season where the league average is .236. His next start will likely be next weekend in Cincinnati.

Gore (3-1) earned the victory, striking out six over six innings while allowing one run on three hits and two walks in a 10-1 win Sunday in San Francisco.

With the Padres already ahead by seven runs, Gore allowed a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for the only run against him in an otherwise stellar outing. It was the first time the young lefty completed six innings in a game at the major-league level. The 23-year-old has put up excellent numbers to start his career and has a 2.06 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 35 innings, allowing just one long ball. Assuming he will continue in a starting role, his next start will likely come next weekend against Pittsburgh.

Gomber (2-4) took the loss, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out two over seven innings in a 2-0 defeat Sunday against the Mets.

All of the damage against Gomber came in the sixth inning when he allowed three consecutive hits and an RBI groundout. Other than that, he allowed only four singles, erasing two of them on double-play balls, and did not walk a batter. The 28-year-old has thrown six innings or more in five of his last six starts and has a 3.41 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in that span. His next start will likely come toward the end of the week in Washington.

Walker (2-0) earned the win and struck out six in seven shutout innings, walking two and allowing five hits in a 2-0 victory Sunday in Colorado.

Walker induced 10 groundouts and did not allow an extra-base hit as he shut down the Rockies' offense. It was the second time in three starts that he held an opponent scoreless over seven innings. The 29-year-old has increased his pitch count in each of his six starts, tossing 97 pitches Sunday. With six punchouts, Walker set a season high and raised his season rate to 5.4 strikeouts per nine innings, well below his career rate of 8.1. His next start will likely be next weekend against Philadelphia.

Gutierrez is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Cubs, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Gutierrez hasn't made an appearance since being shifted to the bullpen May 13, but he'll rejoin the rotation, at least for one start, for Monday's series opener versus Chicago. The 26-year-old has a 8.65 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 19:19 K:BB across 26 innings (six starts) this season.

Kelly registered a no-decision during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings.

Kelly pitched well Sunday aside from the second inning, when a P.J. Higgins triple cleared the bases with two out. The 33-year-old has come back to earth during his last three turns with a 10.50 ERA across 12 innings after posting a dazzling 1.22 mark during his first six starts. Kelly will take a 3.49 ERA and 1.31 WHIP into a start scheduled to come next weekend against the Dodgers.
