  • Luke Farrell RP | WAS

Cubs' Luke Farrell: Lands with Cubs

Farrell signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Monday, Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America reports.

Farrell spent the 2021 campaign with the Twins, finishing the year with a 4.74 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and a 25:13 K:BB across 24.2 frames (one start). Following Monday's signing, he'll likely head to Triple-A Iowa where he'll serve as bullpen depth.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Cubs' Wade Miley: Another bullpen session on tap

Miley (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Miley threw 15 pitches off a mound Saturday, and he's slated for another bullpen session several days laster. While the southpaw's recent progress has been encouraging, he doesn't yet have a timetable for his return to game action.

  • Tylor Megill SP | NYM

Mets' Tylor Megill: Mets-Giants postponed Monday

Megill won't start as scheduled Monday against the Giants, as the game has been postponed due to rain, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday. Megill will start the afternoon contest, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

  • Alex Cobb SP | DET

Giants' Alex Cobb: Giants-Mets postponed Monday

Cobb and the Giants won't play the Mets on Monday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Cobb was slated to make his second start of the season Monday, but he'll be unable to do so after the game was postponed. The matchup will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday, and Cobb will start in the matinee while Logan Webb starts in the second game, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

  • Luis Castillo SP | CHW

Reds' Luis Castillo: Another live BP session planned

Castillo (shoulder) threw 20 pitches in a live batting practice session Friday and will have another such session on Tuesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Castillo doesn't yet have a schedule set to go on a rehab assignment, but it might occur shortly after Tuesday's session if all goes well. Given that Castillo hasn't seen any game action yet, he's likely going to need multiple rehab starts before getting activated.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | LAA

Mets' Taijuan Walker: Rehab start on tap

Walker (shoulder) will make a rehab start at extended spring training in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Walker sustained a shoulder injury April 11 but has been throwing recently. After tossing a bullpen session Sunday, the right-hander has been cleared for game action in Port St. Lucie. If his rehab start goes well, Walker will likely be able to rejoin the Mets' rotation during their series in St. Louis next week.

  • Josiah Gray RP | WAS

Nationals' Josiah Gray: Washington-Arizona postponed Monday

Gray's game between the Nationals and the Diamondbacks on Monday was postponed and will be made up Tuesday as a part of a split doubleheader.

Gray's start will get pushed back a day. The right-hander has posted a 4.00 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over nine innings in his first two starts of the season.

  • Braves' Spencer Strider: Another scoreless outing

Strider didn't give up a hit or a run over 3.2 innings of relief in Sunday's loss to the Padres, walking three and striking out three.

The flamethrowing rookie continues to pile up whiffs and now boasts a 32.4 percent strikeout rate through his first nine big-league innings, but Strider's 17.6 percent walk rate seems likely to keep him from working his way out of a long relief role any time soon. His upside is sky high, whether as a future closer or with a move into the rotation, but for now the 23-year-old has more value as a dynasty asset than in redraft fantasy formats.

  • Jared Shuster RP | STL

Braves' Jared Shuster: Dominant at Double-A

Shuster tied a Southern League record Saturday by striking out eight straight batters, finishing his start for Double-A Mississippi with a career-high 12 strikeouts over five scoreless innings against Biloxi. He allowed just two hits and a walk.

The game was called after five innings due to rain, otherwise Shuster would have had a chance to break the record. The 23-year-old southpaw now has a 17:2 K:BB through his first 10 innings for Mississippi this season, and a promotion to Triple-A could happen fairly quickly if he keeps dominating Double-A hitters. Shuster is Atlanta's No. 9 fantasy prospect after being the 25th overall pick in the 2020 Draft out of Wake Forest, but he could be poised for a big rise up the rankings this season given his clean mechanics, strong command and plus fastball-changeup combination.

  • Andry Lara SP | WAS

Nationals' Andry Lara: Fans seven for Fredericksburg

Lara impressed for Single-A Fredericksburg on Sunday against Carolina, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks over four innings while striking out seven.

One of the Nationals' top pitching prospects, Lara is still only 19 after being a J-2 signing in 2019, but this is already his second look at full-season ball after he ended last season with a couple shaky starts for Fredericksburg. His results this time around have been a lot better, however, and if Lara can improve his control, his raw stuff could allow him to consistently dominate hitters in the low minors. For the moment, he's only on the radar in deeper dynasty formats, but Lara has the tools to put together a breakout campaign.
