Woodruff won't make his scheduled start Friday against the Cubs as the game has been postponed due to poor weather, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader in late May. The Brewers will push their starters back a day, so Woodruff will take his turn Saturday at Wrigley Field, lining him up for a start in Baltimore the following Thursday.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader in May. The Cubs will simply push their rotation back a day, so Steele will face the Brewers on Saturday instead. That lines him up for a trip to Coors Field next Thursday or Friday.

Darvish didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Arizona after tossing six scoreless innings, walking four and striking out three without allowing a hit.

Darvish wasn't exactly dominant in this one, throwing only 51 of his 92 pitches for strikes, but the Diamondbacks couldn't make any good contact against him. This was perhaps a step in the right direction for the Japanese hurler, who posted a 4.22 ERA last season.

Strider struck out five over two perfect innings of relief in Thursday's loss to the Reds.

Entering the game with Atlanta down 6-1 in the top of the seventh inning, Strider sliced through the heart of Cincinnati's lineup. The rookie right-hander needed only 24 pitches (16 strikes) to breeze through his outing, hitting triple digits with his fastball twice and consistently sitting at 99 mph with his heater. Strider figures to handle a multi-inning role in a stacked Atlanta bullpen to begin the season, but his ability to pile up strikeouts while collecting the occasional win or hold should still give him fantasy value in deeper formats even if he doesn't graduate to a more high-profile gig.

Fried (0-1) took the loss against Cincinnati on Thursday, tossing 5.2 innings and allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five.

Fried was primarily stung by a troublesome third frame during which he gave up two runs on a trio of singles and a walk. Two of the other runs he was charged with came after he departed the contest in the sixth inning. Though his final line wasn't pretty, the southpaw didn't give up any extra-base hits and was largely a victim of soft contact. Fried promisingly threw 84 pitches in the outing, so he could go even deeper into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come at home against Washington next week.

Mahle (1-0) gave up an unearned run on three hits and two walks over five innings to take the win over Atlanta on Thursday. He struck out seven.

The right-hander racked up 16 swinging strikes in the outing and did not yield any extra-base hits. The only run the Braves scored against him came on a third-inning infield single that was accompanied by a throwing error. Mahle is off to a strong start following last season's breakthrough campaign that included 13 wins, a 3.75 ERA and a 10.5 K/9. His second start is likely to come at home against Cleveland early next week.

Corbin (0-1) tossed four innings against the Mets on Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four to take the loss.

Corbin allowed the first two batters of the game to reach base but was able to get out of the first inning unscathed. He went on to keep the Mets off the scoreboard through four frames before faltering in the fifth, when he put the first four batters on base. That signaled the end of the left-hander's outing, but Victor Arano did a good job in relief to ensure that only one additional run crossed the plate. Despite Corbin's loss, fantasy managers taking a gamble on him shouldn't be entirely disappointed by the up-and-down appearance considering the career-worst 5.82 ERA he posted last season. He'll likely take the mound for a start in Atlanta next week.

Megill (1-0) earned the win over Washington on Thursday, pitching five scoreless innings and allowing three hits while striking out six. He did not walk any batters.

For much of the spring, Megill was looking at starting the campaign in the minors, but an injury to Jacob deGrom (shoulder) opened the door for Megill to claim a big-league rotation spot. The right-hander was thrust into the Opening Day start to give Max Scherzer more time to recover from a hamstring issue, and he proved undaunted by the spotlight, throwing 47 of 68 pitches for strikes and allowing only four Nationals baserunners. Megill held his own in his first taste of the majors last season and could solidify a permanent rotation spot if he performs well while deGrom is out. Megill's second start is likely to come next week at Philadelphia.

Burnes allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four across five innings Thursday against the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.

All of the damage against Burnes came in the fifth inning, with the big blow coming on a two-run home run by Nico Hoerner. However, more notable was Burnes uncharacteristic struggle with command. He walked the first batter he faced prior to issuing another free pass in the second frame. Though Burnes didn't possess his best stuff, he still managed to strike out four consecutive batters spanning from the third into the fourth innings. Burnes projects to take the mound next on Tuesday at Baltimore.

Wainwright allowed zero runs on five hits across 6.0 innings and earned the win Thursday against the Pirates. He struck out six and didn't record a walk.

Wainwright earned the Opening Day nod with Jack Flaherty (shoulder) sidelined and showed he's still got it. The 40-year-old has enjoyed a nice late-career resurgence over the past two seasons, notching a 3.08 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 42 starts since the start of the 2020 campaign, prior to Thursday's stellar outing.
