Carrasco (hamstring) participated in fielding drills Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Following Monday's fielding practice, Carrasco is expected to throw his first live batting practice Tuesday. While the right-hander could require several live BP sessions, he's expected to begin a rehab assignment shortly after. If he remains on track in his recovery, Carrasco could make his team debut prior to the end of July.

Eickhoff signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Eickhoff elected free agency after he cleared waivers Saturday, but he'll ultimately return to the Mets on a minor-league deal. The right-hander should report to Triple-A Syracuse after he made eight starts with the minor-league club earlier in the season.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that the team could call up Pepiot at some point in 2021, Blake Harris of True Blue LA reports.

The right-hander has dominated at the Double-A level this season, posting a 1.73 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 57:18 K:BB across 41.2 innings. He was at his best Sunday versus Arkansas, tossing seven perfect frames and striking out 11 before walking a batter and subsequently departing in the eighth inning. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers will have any use for him on the big-league squad this season, but the 23-year-old is certainly opening eyes around the organization.

Martinez (thumb) is expected to be fine following his removal from Sunday's start against the Rockies, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Martinez was diagnosed with a bruised right thumb after leaving Sunday's contest, and manager Mike Shildt said Monday that the 29-year-old's thumb just got jammed, and the team wanted the swelling to subside. Whether he's able to make his next start remains to be seen, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. If he's cleared to pitch, the right-hander tentatively lines up to take the mound on the road against the Cubs on Saturday.

Gray (shoulder) will need to be able to throw five innings and/or 75 pitches to potentially be called up this season, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The righty threw two innings in Triple-A Oklahoma City's game Sunday before throwing a third frame in the bullpen. The contending Dodgers will certainly be in need of starting pitching depth down the stretch and in the postseason, especially if Trevor Bauer misses significant time. Gray certainly has a chance of getting promoted if he can build up to that five-inning mark, which manager Dave Roberts described Monday as a "floor" for his receiving big-league consideration in 2021.

Sanchez (shoulder) will undergo season-ending surgery, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Sanchez made slow progress across the last several months while recovering from right shoulder inflammation, but he had recently extended his throwing distance to 120 feet following his setback in mid-May. However, the 22-year-old recently underwent an MRI that revealed a small tear in the posterior capsule of his right shoulder. Sanchez's procedure will force him to miss the remainder of the season, but the Marlins are hopeful that the right-hander will be ready for the start of spring training in 2022, McPherson reports. A better idea of his spring status could be revealed based on how he responds after surgery.

Lorenzen (shoulder) was transferred Monday to Triple-A Louisville to continue his rehab assignment.

The righty appeared in one game during his previous stop at the Arizona Complex League, throwing a perfect, two-strikeout inning July 1. It's unclear how much work Lorenzen, who hasn't made a big-league appearance in 2021 due to a right shoulder strain, will require at Louisville, but he is certainly approaching his return to the Reds.

Williams (abdomen) completed his second rehab start at Triple-A Iowa on Friday, working five innings while giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk.

Williams tossed 58 pitches (45 strikes) in the outing, so he's seemingly capable of handling a starter's workload if the Cubs are prepared to activate him from the injured list. The 29-year-old right-hander has been on the shelf since May 31 while recovering from an emergency appendectomy.

Marquez allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out 11 over six innings Sunday against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Marquez had an absolutely dominant week after pitching extremely well in both of his starts. The 26-year-old followed up a one-hit complete-game shutout against the Pirates earlier in the week with an 11-strikeout performance, his first time hitting double-digit strikeouts since July 31, 2019. His only major mistake was serving up a two-run homer to Harrison Bader in the second inning. Marquez has now given up three earned runs over his last 29 innings after he was blown up for eight runs over five innings in a start against the Reds on June 12. He has a 3.59 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 105:41 K:BB over 105.1 innings and lines up for a road start against the Padres this coming week.

DeSclafani (9-3) won Sunday's 5-2 game against Arizona, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 8.2 innings.

DeSclafani was spotted an early lead and allowed a run apiece in the seventh and ninth before being removed with two outs and a runner on first in the final frame. Manager Gabe Kapler left him in for 107 pitches, which ties his season high, as he came just short of completing his third game of the season.
