Manager Mike Shildt said Flaherty was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a "significant" oblique strain and will be sidelined "awhile," Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old exited Monday's start against the Dodgers with tightness in his left side, and he'll now be unavailable for the foreseeable future. Flaherty is without a timeline for his return but figures to be sidelined through the All-Star break in mid July, at minimum. Johan Oviedo was recalled from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move and should be in the mix to fill the open spot in the rotation.

Gallen (elbow) completed a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday and is tentatively scheduled for another session Friday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old was able to throw all his pitches during Tuesday's session, which is a good sign as he attempts to return from a UCL sprain. Gallen should continue building up to a starter's workload over the next few weeks before potentially rejoining Arizona's starting rotation.

Sanchez (shoulder) will pause his throwing program for a few days as a result of shoulder soreness, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

As of now, the Marlins appear to be optimistic that this will be just a minor setback for Sanchez as he works his way back from shoulder inflammation. The right-hander began a throwing program in mid-April, and all had gone well up until this point. The hope is that the highly touted prospect will be able to resume throwing in the next few days.

Lauer is listed as Milwaukee's probable starter for Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

The Brewers haven't revealed whether they'll stick with a six-man rotation during the upcoming week, but Lauer's inclusion on the pitching schedule would suggest that's the case. Lauer will be rewarded with a second straight turn through the rotation after he limited the Padres to one run on four hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision May 26.

DeGrom (4-2) earned the win Monday against the Diamondbacks after tossing six scoreless innings, giving up two hits and fanning eight.

It was another dominant effort from the star hurler, who has yet to allow more than one earned run in any of his eight appearances this season. DeGrom also has six quality starts and a sterling 0.71 ERA that, if sustained across an entire season, would be a career-best mark by a wide margin. He will try to extend his blistering start to the season Saturday at the Padres.

Flaherty will undergo further testing on his left side Tuesday, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

Flaherty exited his Monday start against the Dodgers after just five innings because of tightness in his left side. The Cardinals will take a closer look at the right-hander Tuesday in attempt to reach a conclusive diagnosis and possible timeline for a return. The 25-year-old is currently lined up to make his next start Saturday against the Reds.

Kelly (2-6) was beaten by the Mets on Monday after allowing five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out six over 6.2 innings.

Kelly did his best to keep the Diamondbacks in the game against New York's ace, Jacob deGrom, but Pete Alonso's two-run homer in the seventh inning stretched the Mets' lead to 5-0 and that was that. It was the fourth consecutive loss for Kelly, who has a respectable 4.10 ERA and 1.29 WHIP since his last win April 27. He's expected to make a second start this week Saturday on the road in Milwaukee.

Flaherty was removed from Monday's game against the Dodgers after five innings with left side tightness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Not factoring into Monday's decision, the right-handed ace struck out nine and allowed two runs on back-to-back, second-inning homers. He also walked a batter and hit another. It's unclear whether Flaherty is dealing with a substantial injury and if he'll require a trip to the injured list, but the Cardinals may need to look elsewhere for innings Saturday, when Flaherty is scheduled to make his next start.

Paddack (2-4) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk over 4.1 innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Cubs.

Paddack was cursed by the long ball Monday with all five runs scoring against him coming off three homers, starting with a two-run shot by Javier Baez in the third inning. It was his first start of the season allowing multiple home runs. The 25-year-old righty had allowed just three runs over his previous 19 innings but saw his ERA jump to 4.24 after Monday's outing. Paddack is lined up to face the Mets at home this weekend.

Morton (4-2) allowed three runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in five innings to earn the win Monday versus Washington.

Morton had a shaky fourth inning -- he gave up a two-run home run to Josh Bell and an RBI single to opposing pitcher Joe Ross. Other than that, it was a decent effort for Morton's second consecutive win. The right-hander has a 4.11 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 67:21 K:BB across 57 innings this year. He lines up to face the Dodgers this weekend in his next start.
