Oviedo allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and six walks while striking out three across 4.1 innings against Arizona on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

Oviedo was called up Friday and given a chance to start against one of the league's least successful teams. He was given plenty of offensive support -- St. Louis scored four runs in the first inning -- but needed 91 pitches (only 48 of which were strikes) to get through 4.1 frames and couldn't stick around long enough to quality for the win. The right-hander again got himself into trouble by issuing too many free passes, issuing six walks after yielding five across two innings in his previous appearance. Oviedo's 5.40 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 15:16 K:BB on the season are far from impressive, but he could get another start, which would likely come against Cincinnati next week.

Buehler started Friday's 8-5 loss to San Francisco, going six innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts. He didn't factor into the decision.

Buehler pitched well despite his lowest strikeout total of the season, letting only two runs cross the plate in separate low-stress innings. Buehler has been extremely consistent this season, going between six and seven innings in every single start this season, though his 8.7 K/9 is a bit underwhelming for his lofty standards.

DeSclafani took a no-decision Friday against Los Angeles, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing two runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts.

DeSclafani allowed a solo home run to Matt Beaty in the second and another run in the fifth before being removed with two on and two out in the same inning. It was a nice rebound from last start's 10-run implosion and he's allowed no more than three runs in any of his other 10 starts.

Gutierrez (0-1) allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings to take the loss against the Cubs on Friday.

Gutierrez was making his major-league debut, and he was quite effective while pitching in favorable conditions as a strong wind was blowing in at Wrigley Field on Friday. He still gave up the lone run of the game via a solo blast by David Bote in the bottom of the fifth inning. If Gutierrez remains with the major-league club, he tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Oviedo was recalled by the Cardinals ahead of Friday's start against the White Sox.

Oviedo made four appearances (three starts) for the Cardinals earlier in the season and posted a 5.74 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 15.2 innings during that time. Since Miles Mikolas (forearm) is back on the injured list, Oviedo could also start during next week's series in Cincinnati.

Fried is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Mets rather than Saturday as previously scheduled, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Atlanta will push back the starting rotation as a result of Friday's postponement, so Ian Anderson is now on tap to start Saturday's contest. Fried has a 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB over 24 frames in four starts since returning from the injured list in early May, and he'll attempt to continue that strong stretch Sunday.

Peterson won't start Saturday against Atlanta as previously scheduled following the postponement of Friday's contest, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Friday's starter Taijuan Walker (side) will be pushed back to start Saturday, and the Mets have yet to decide whether Jacob deGrom will start as scheduled Sunday or also be pushed back. If deGrom remains on turn, Peterson is poised to take the mound Monday at Arizona.

Walker's return from the 10-day IL will be delayed by a day, as he's now expected to take the mound Saturday, per Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record. The Mets have yet to indicate whether Jacob deGrom will pitch Sunday as previously scheduled, or if Saturday's original starter, David Peterson, will receive the nod.

Gray won't pitch as scheduled Friday at Pittsburgh after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

The contest will be made up via a doubleheader Saturday, and Gray will take the mound for the Rockies in the first game of the twin bill, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
