Kershaw (4-3) took the loss during Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs after surrendering four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks over one inning.

The 33-year-old needed 39 pitches to get through the first frame, and manager Dave Roberts decided that was enough for the veteran lefty Tuesday. Kershaw had given up only four runs across his previous five starts (33 innings), and he'll attempt to return to form his next time out.

Hendricks (2-3) allowed just one run across seven innings to earn the win in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers. He gave up seven hits and a walk while striking out six.

Hendricks helped out the Chicago bullpen by going the distance in the seven-inning game, and the righty was much better than he was in his last outing, when he allowed seven runs across 3.2 innings. He actually blanked Los Angeles until there was one out in the seventh, when Keibert Ruiz connected for a solo home run. Hendricks has allowed seven runs on two occasions this season, both against Atlanta, which has inflated ERA to 6.07 even after the strong start Tuesday. He'll look to keep whittling down that number in his next scheduled appearance Sunday against the Pirates.

Oviedo won't start Tuesday against the Mets since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old was recalled from the alternate site to start Tuesday's contest, but the game won't be played as scheduled. The contest will be made up via a straight doubleheader Wednesday, and Oviedo figures to take the mound in one of those contests.

DeGrom was diagnosed with right lat inflammation Tuesday and won't throw for a few days, but he won't be placed on the injured list, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The 32-year-old was scratched from Tuesday's start with what was originally described as tightness in his right side, and an MRI apparently didn't turn up any significant issues. DeGrom's status for his next turn through the rotation this weekend against the Diamondbacks remains up in the air, but for now he won't be placed on the injured list. Miguel Castro is slated to start a bullpen game in deGrom's place Tuesday.

Carrasco (hamstring) is scheduled to make a rehab start Sunday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Carrasco threw a six-inning simulated game Tuesday, so it appears as though he's built up to a starter's workload. The Mets could conceivably adjust their plans and bring Carrasco back to the big-league roster ahead of schedule given that Jacob deGrom is battling side tightness, but there's been no indication yet that they're considering such a move.

Stroman (hamstring) will make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Cardinals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Stroman left his start Friday against the Phillies with a tight hamstring but did not appear set for an extended absence. He even volunteered to throw on short rest Tuesday after Jacob deGrom was scratched with side tightness, so it looks as though there's little reason to worry about his health moving forward.

Kelly was placed on the injured list Tuesday for unspecified reasons.

The Diamondbacks didn't provide an injury designation or specify which injured list he was placed on, so the right-hander's return timeline remains unclear. If it's the COVID-19 injured list, Kelly can be activated as soon as he clears the league's protocols. The 22-year-old's availability for his next turn through the rotation Saturday against the Mets will remain up in the air until his status is updated.

Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Sanchez has been called up twice by the Phillies this season but has still yet to make his major-league debut. Both of his stints on the roster lasted just one day. Enyel De Los Santos's contract was recalled in a corresponding move.

Gausman's absence is expected to be a brief one, as he's been placed on the COVID-19 injured list merely due to the side effects of the coronavirus vaccine, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Gausman's turn in the rotation is due up Saturday, by which point the side effects will likely have subsided. The Giants have yet to officially confirm when he'll return to the roster, however.

DeGrom underwent an MRI on his tight right side Tuesday, the results of which have yet to be released, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

DeGrom was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday against the Cardinals due to the injury, with the Mets electing to go with Miguel Castro to kick off a bullpen game instead. Reports indicate that the Mets believe he won't have to miss more than one start, but a clearer timeline should be available once the test results are made public.
