Giants' Johnny Cueto: Fans seven in no-decision

Cueto allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.2 innings Sunday, striking out seven in the win over Arizona. He did not factor in the decision.

Cueto got off to a rough start Sunday, yielding a leadoff homer to Tim Locastro followed by back-to-back singles before recording an out. After escaping the frame with two runs allowed, the 34-year-old righty settled in and kept Arizona scoreless for the next 4.2 innings. He maintained his spotless 2-0 record alongside a 46:19 K:BB over 47.1 innings this season. Cueto will carry a 4.56 ERA into Friday's start in San Diego.

  • Trevor Rogers SP | BAL

Marlins' Trevor Rogers: Punches out 10 in quality start

Rogers allowed three runs on four hits and a walk across six innings in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rays. He struck out 10 and did not factor in the decision.

Aside from allowing three solo homers, Rogers was excellent Sunday. After striking out 11 and walking seven across his first two outings, the rookie fanned 10 Rays while allowing just one free pass. He will take a tidy 3.00 ERA into his start against the Phillies on Friday.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Roughed up Sunday

Corbin (2-4) allowed five runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings to take the loss Sunday against Atlanta.

Corbin is going through a rough patch as he's been charged with losses in four of his last five starts. The southpaw began Sunday's contest by tossing three scoreless innings, but the Atlanta offense got to him over the next few innings prior to his removal. He allowed a season-high 13 baserunners Sunday and now carries a 4.34 ERA and 1.47 WHIP over 45.2 innings this year. He'll get another shot to face Atlanta on Saturday at home.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Mets' Jacob deGrom: Back in win column

DeGrom (3-1) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 12 over seven innings to earn the win Sunday against the Phillies.

DeGrom allowed a season-high four runs during his last trip to the mound, but he was dominant against Philadelphia as his only blemish was a solo home run in the second inning. The Mets' offense also had a dominant performance by providing 14 runs, allowing deGrom to pick up a comfortable win. The righty now has a 1.69 ERA and 70:11 K:BB over 48 innings this year. His next start should come on the road Saturday against the Blue Jays.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Strikes out 10 in loss

Nola (4-3) allowed six runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out 10 over 5.1 innings and was charged with the loss Sunday against the Mets.

Nola lasted eight innings in his last start, as he was dominant against the Nationals, but he was far less effective Sunday, allowing runs in all but one of the innings that he pitched. He was able to stay hot in the strikeout column, but he struggled to keep the basepaths clear. The right-hander now has a 2.74 ERA and 67:13 K:BB over 49.1 innings this season. He'll attempt to right the ship on the road Friday as part of a doubleheader against the Marlins.

  • Mets' Michael Wacha: Scheduled to start Tuesday

Wacha is scheduled to start Tuesday against Baltimore, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Robert Gsellman was originally projected to start Tuesday's contest, but he's shifted from a starting role back to the bullpen. Wacha will pitch on six days rest after working three innings in his last start, which came at Baltimore. Overall, Wacha has an ugly 7.20 ERA with a 1.75 WHIP across 20 frames this season.

  • Tyler Mahle SP | ATL

Reds' Tyler Mahle: Scheduled to start Tuesday

Mahle is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Cubs, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Mahle will start the first game of the team's series against the Cubs. He's provided strong length in both of his past two turns through the rotation, working a combined 13.2 innings while surrendering five earned runs. Overall, he's maintained a 3.90 ERA and 1.07 WHIP while working both in the rotation and bullpen this season.

  • Chris Paddack RP | TEX

Padres' Chris Paddack: Fans six in loss

Paddack (3-4) allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings as he was charged with the loss Saturday against Oakland.

Paddack has been inconsistent recently, and he's been charged with losses in four of his last six starts as a result. He struggled early in Saturday's contest, giving up four runs over the first two innings, but he was able to settle down after that. However, the Padres' offense couldn't keep pace as Paddack added another loss to his record. He'll attempt to bounce back at home Thursday against the Giants.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Confirmed as Monday's starter

Urena (illnes) will return from the injured list and start against Atlanta on Monday, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

Urena tested positive for COVID-19 in late July but has been working out at the team's alternate site since Aug. 15. He'll fill the opening in the rotation left by Elieser Hernandez, who suffered a season-ending lat injury Tuesday. It's unclear what kind of pitch count Urena will be on, though he doesn't figure to work deep into starts initially.

  • Artie Lewicki SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Artie Lewicki: Optioned to alternate site

Lewicki was optioned to the alternate site Sunday.

Lewicki joined the big-league club on Sept. 1 and pitched in the major leagues for the first time since 2018. The 28-year old threw 3.1 innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out five.
