Max Fried SP | NYY
Braves' Max Fried: Ties career strikeout high
Fried (15-4) struck out 11 and picked up the win in Friday's 10-7 victory over the White Sox, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk over six-plus innings.
The 11 whiffs tied his career high, and the southpaw retired the first 13 batters he faced before Eloy Jimenez reached on an infield single in the fifth inning. Fried has won six straight decisions, and he'll take a 4.05 ERA and 150:42 K:BB over 142.1 innings into his next start Thursday, as he kicks off a potentially crucial home series against the Nationals.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: May start Sunday
Stripling (biceps) may start Sunday's game after being activated from the injured list, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Stripling will make his return to the Dodgers on Sunday after missing over a month with biceps tendinitis. He is an option to start but would likely be on a limited pitch count with Dustin May scheduled to throw multiple innings out of the bullpen. Stripling has compiled a 4-4 record along with a 3.64 ERA and 1.17 whip in 26 games -- 12 of which have been starts -- this season.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Set for another bullpen Monday
Hill (forearm) will toss his next bullpen session Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Hill last threw a bullpen session Tuesday, mixing in breaking balls from the mound for the first time in his recovery. The veteran southpaw continues to aim for a mid-September return to the Dodgers with hopes of building enough stamina to be a part of the starting rotation in October.

Tony Gonsolin RP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Solid in no-decision
Gonsolin did not factor into the decision during Friday's loss to the Diamondbacks, yielding two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five across five innings.
The 25-year-old delivered a solid performance, adding an RBI single of his own in the second inning and exiting the game with the lead. His only two runs of the night came via a long ball from Eduardo Escobar in the sixth. Unfortunately, the Dodgers came up short in the end after the bullpen allowed a run to score on a balk in the eighth frame. Gonsolin has pitched well since being called up in late July, allowing two runs or fewer in all five of his outings. He'll carry a 2.89 ERA and 0.96 WHIP into his next start against the Giants on Friday.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Whiffs six in no-decision
Gallen took a no-decision during Friday's win over the Dodgers, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings.
After retiring the side in the first inning, Gallen allowed a pair of runs to score in the second on two doubles and a single. He then gave up an RBI triple to Cody Bellinger in the third, but that would be the final damage of the night for the rookie right-hander. Gallen has given up three runs or less in his last 12 starts and owns a dominant 2.79 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 74:31 K:BB during that span. He'll look to stay hot on Wednesday against the Padres.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Settles for no-decision
Nola allowed one run on four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts across 6.1 innings during a no-decision against the Mets on Friday.
Both offenses exploded late, as the starters weren't a factor in the decision. This was Nola's first no-decision since July 23, but he did still post his fourth straight quality start. He is 12-4 with a 3.45 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 194 strikeouts in 174.2 innings this season. Nola will make his next start at the Reds on Wednesday.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Pitches well in no-decision
Wheeler allowed one run on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts across six innings during a no-decision against the Phillies on Friday.
The right-hander and Phillies starter Aaron Nola were locked in a pitcher's duel until they both departed in the sixth and seventh, respectively. Then the two teams combined to score 14 runs in the final two frames. Wheeler experienced an inconsistent August, either pitching shutouts/allowing one run or at least four runs in his six starts. Overall, it led to a 2-1 record and 3.41 ERA this month. He is 9-7 with a 4.41 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 160 strikeouts in 161.1 innings this season. Wheeler will be back on the hill Wednesday in a vital game at the Nationals.

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Yields two homers in loss
Anderson (6-4) allowed five runs on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts across four innings while taking a loss against the Cubs on Friday.
The 31-year-old snapped his dubious streak of allowing a homer in five straight starts in his last outing, but he yielded two long balls to the Cubs on Friday afternoon. During his six-year MLB career, Anderson has posted a HR/9 below 1.0 during just one season, so this problem is nothing new. However, it has gone to another level, as Anderson owns a 1.6 HR/9 over the last two seasons. He also has a 4.58 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 106 strikeouts in 116 innings this year. Anderson will face the Cubs again in his next outing Thursday at home.
-
Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Bounces back with win
Quintana (12-8) tossed 5.2 shutout innings while allowing four hits and two walks with three strikeouts, earning a victory against the Brewers on Friday.
The 30-year-old had a subpar outing his last time on the hill, but thanks in part to Friday's outing, he still had a great August, going 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA. In his only no-decision this month, Quintana posted a season-high 14 strikeouts, helping him record 39 punchouts in six August outings. Overall, he owns a 3.90 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 137 strikeouts in 152.1 innings this season. Quintana will face the Brewers in a second straight start -- the next one on the road -- Thursday.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Struggles in loss
Senzatela (8-9) was charged with the loss against the Pirates on Friday after surrendering six runs on 10 hits and a walk with a pair of strikeouts across five innings.
Senzatela served up a leadoff single and issued his first free pass of the game in the fifth inning, which came back to haunt him after Melky Cabrera hit a three-run home run. Of course, the 24-year-old had already scattered three runs before then, but the long ball was what really did him in. Senzatela was making his second start since getting recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque last week. In his last outing against the Cardinals, he allowed six runs on five hits and failed to escape the second inning. With Jon Gray (foot), Kyle Freeland (groin) and German Marquez (arm) all on the injured list, Senzatela will get another chance, although a tough one, at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.
