Eric Lauer SP | LAD
Padres' Eric Lauer: Fans six in win
Lauer (6-8) earned the win Friday after holding the Dodgers to two runs on three hits while striking out six over six innings.
Lauer's only blemish of the night came in the form of a two-run home run off the bat of Cody Bellinger. Otherwise, the left-hander quieted a dangerous Dodgers lineup without issuing any free passes. The 24-year-old has a 4.43 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 87:31 K:BB over 21 appearances this season. Lauer will take the hill next for a Thursday matchup against the Rockies.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Knocked around by Pittsburgh
Matz (6-7) took the loss after surrendering five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings Friday against the Pirates.
Matz cruised through three scoreless innings to begin his day, but the Pirates pounced for five runs in the fourth inning and managed to chase the lefty from the contest. The 28-year-old was coming off a complete-game shutout in his last start, though he didn't have the same deadly stuff this time around. He owns a 4.60 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 97 strikeouts over 103.2 innings this season for the Mets.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Snags fourth win
Williams (4-4) earned the win after giving up three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two over six innings Friday against the Mets.
Williams surrendered two runs in the first inning and another in the third, though he managed to turn in a quality start. Fortunately, his team was able to rally with the help of a five-run fourth inning to provide enough run support for the 27-year-old right-hander to emerge with the victory. Williams owns a 4.75 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 77 strikeouts across 94.2 innings this season.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Loses third straight
Davies (8-5) allowed four runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts across four innings while taking a loss against the Cubs on Friday.
The 26-year-old has lost three straight and during each defeat, he's allowed two homers. Prior to this losing streak, Davies didn't allow a homer for four straight outings, and this is only the second time this season he has permitted a homer in three straight starts. With the losing streak, his ERA has jumped up to 3.74, and he also owns a 1.39 WHIP, 78 strikeouts and 122.2 innings this season. Davies will have an opportunity to get right against the Pirates, a team he's dominated this season, on Wednesday.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Yields two runs in win
Quintana (9-7) allowed two runs on seven hits with no walks and five strikeouts across six innings while capturing a victory over the Brewers on Friday.
The 30-year-old served up a homer to Ryan Braun, but that was the only run he yielded until the seventh. Quintana hasn't pitched that well lately, posting a 5.14 ERA in his last five starts, but he's 4-0 during that stretch. He owns a 4.40 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 122.2 innings this season and will face the Athletics at home Wednesday in his next outing.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Cleared for rehab stint
Cueto (elbow) will make his first rehab start in the Arizona League on Sunday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Cueto tossed a 25-pitch live batting practice session Saturday, and he has since been cleared to embark on a rehab assignment. After undergoing Tommy John surgery in August of 2018, he could have a chance to join the big-league club for the final month of the season as a reliever.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Not expecting lengthy absence
Ryu (neck) doesn't believe he'll be on the 10-day injured list for long, and he doesn't expect to need a rehab start, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Ryu was placed on the shelf Friday due to neck soreness, but the issue isn't expected to keep him out for long. There's a chance he'll miss just one turn through the rotation, though a timetable for his return should become clearer in the coming days.
