Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Falls to Reds despite quality start
Mikolas (6-10) took the loss Saturday as the Cardinals were downed 3-2 by the Reds, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings while striking out four.
The right-hander shut out Cincinnati for six innings before hitting the wall in the seventh, with Josh VanMeter's first big-league homer being the big blow off Mikolas. He still delivered his 11th quality start of the season, and Mikolas will carry a 4.17 ERA and 82:19 K:BB through 114.1 innings into his next start Thursday in Pittsburgh.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Padres' Cal Quantrill: To follow opener
Quantrill will follow opener Adrian Morejon on Sunday against the Cubs, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Following an opener will be a minor boost to Quantrill's fantasy value, as he'll avoid the top of the Cubs' lineup the first time through the order and won't have to pitch five innings to be credited with a win. The 24-year-old has been decent in his first taste of big-league action this season, recording a 4.21 ERA in 47 innings of work.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Allows six runs in loss
Lucchesi (7-5) allowed six runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.
The big blow came in the fourth inning, when Javier Baez turned a one-run deficit into a two-run lead with one swing of the bat. Lucchesi's strikeout rate is down more than three percentage points from a year ago, but he's allowing less hard contact and fewer line drives overall. This recent stretch in the schedule has been especially tough (@LAD, vs. ATL, @CHC), and Lucchesi has held his own. He lines up for a home start against the Giants next week.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Wins fourth straight
Quintana (8-7) allowed five runs on eight hits -- including three homers -- over five innings in a win over the Padres on Saturday. He struck out seven and walked one.
The lefty was a bit lucky to escape with this line -- two of the three home runs were solo shots. He had been doing a great job of limiting the long ball, with just five homers allowed in his last 10 starts (55.2 innings) prior to Saturday, and hopefully this outing will prove to be an aberration rather than the start of a trend. Quintana will look to pick up his fifth win in as many starts when he takes on the Brewers in Milwaukee next week.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Rocked in Yankee Stadium
Senzatela (8-7) allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.
He doesn't even have any Yankee Stadium gift homers to blame -- New York went double, single, single, strikeout, walk, walk, single, double against Senzatela to begin the second inning. The 24-year-old still has a winning record, but Senzatela has given up 21 runs in his last three starts (11 innings) to inflate his ERA to 6.29. Colorado could turn to Chi Chi Gonzalez the next turn through the rotation.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Battling hamstring issue
Mahle is dealing with a sore left hamstring but hopes to make his next start Wednesday in Milwaukee, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Mahle apparently suffered the injury on his final pitch Friday against the Cardinals. That means he can't blame the injury for his poor numbers over his last three outings, where he's allowed 17 runs (13 earned) over 13.2 innings. His status should become clearer over the next few days.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Confirmed as Sunday's starter
Gausman (foot) is listed as the Braves' scheduled starter for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
The Braves will officially activate Gausman from the 10-day injured list ahead of the series finale, with the right-hander rejoining the rotation as a replacement for the recently demoted Bryse Wilson. Gausman has been brutal over 62.1 innings in the big leagues this season (6.21 ERA, 1.51 WHIP), but he drew positive reports coming out of his three-start rehab stint in the minors, per David O'Brien of The Athletic. In his final outing Monday with Triple-A Gwinnett, Gausman fired seven innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out 10.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Marlins' Zac Gallen: Suffers loss in Hollywood
Gallen (0-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks over 5.1 innings Friday. He struck out five and took the loss as the Marlins fell 2-1 to the Dodgers.
Gallen has walked 14 batters in 22.1 big-league innings this season across five appearances, a far cry from the dominant 112:17 K:BB he posted in 91.1 innings for Triple-A New Orleans. The 23-year-old has a 3.63 ERA and 1.48 WHIP for the Marlins, and he'll remain in search of his first win when he takes on the White Sox on Wednesday.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Suppresses Marlins in win
Ryu (11-2) allowed one run on four hits and three walks over seven innings Friday, striking out seven to earn the win in a 2-1 victory over the Marlins.
The only damage against Ryu came on a Jorge Alfaro double in the fourth inning. The 32-year-old has now allowed only three runs over his last 20 innings since a seven-run implosion versus the Rockies on June 28. The left-hander has a 1.76 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with a sublime 112:14 K:BB in 123 innings this season. Ryu is next set for a road start versus the Nationals next Friday.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: No-decision in pitchers' duel
DeGrom fired seven scoreless innings Friday, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out 10, but he did not factor in the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Giants.
DeGrom and Giants starter Tyler Beede exchanged zeroes deep into the game, but neither pitcher's excellent outing would be recognized in the decision. The Mets ace lowered his ERA to 3.02 with a 1.11 WHIP and 154 strikeouts in 122 innings this season, and deGrom is next expected to face the Padres at home Thursday.
