  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Roughed up at Coors Field

Quintana dropped to 4-6 after giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks over 4.2 innings Tuesday in the Cubs' 10-3 loss to the Rockies. He struck out three.

Coors Field is never a great place for a struggling pitcher to get back on track, and Quintana proved as much with his rough showing Tuesday. Quintana has failed to pick up a win in any of his last seven outings, going 0-5 with a 4.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP during that stretch.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Slated to start Wednesday

The Pirates will recall Keller from Triple-A Indianapolis to start Wednesday's game against the Braves, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Keller's promotion won't become official until a few hours before the game, but his return to the big leagues was fully expected after the Pirates lost two rotation arms in Jordan Lyles (hamstring) and Rookie Davis (finger) to the injured list in recent days. Though the right-hander endured a bumpy MLB debut back on May 27 against the Reds, he's still viewed as one the top young arms in the Pirates' system and rebounded nicely upon returning to Triple-A. In his last outing with Indianapolis over the weekend, Keller needed only five innings to rack up a career-high 13 strikeouts.

  • Pirates' Trevor Williams: Rehab start coming Thursday

Williams (side) is scheduled to make a rehab start Thursday at Triple-A Indianapolis, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Though he's been sidelined since May 16 with a right side strain, Williams may only need one rehab start in the minors before getting the green light to return from the 10-day injured list. Over the weekend, Williams completed a 64-pitch simulated game, so he'll presumably push up his pitch count Thursday and take on something close to a normal starter's workload. The Pirates are in desperate need for Williams' return with two other members of their Opening Day rotation (Jameson Taillon and Jordan Lyles) also on the IL.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Walloped by White Sox

Corbin (5-5) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering seven runs on six hits and two walks over five-plus innings while striking out five as the Nationals were downed 7-5 by the White Sox.

The southpaw has been in a tailspin since he tossed a shutout against the Marlins in late May, losing three straight starts and getting tagged for 16 runs and four homers over 12.2 innings with a 13:7 K:BB during that stretch. Corbin will try to turn things around in his next outing Monday, at home against the Phillies.

  • Kenta Maeda SP | NYY

Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Labors in first inning, takes loss

Maeda (7-3) took the loss against the Angels on Tuesday, pitching 4.1 innings and giving up five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four.

All of the damage against Maeda came with two outs in the first inning, when the Angels connected for a pair of home runs sandwiched around a hit batsman, a walk and a single. Though Maeda would not allow another hit for the remainder of his outing, the Dodgers were unable to muster enough offense to get him off the hook. The loss put an end to the 31-year-old's four-decision win streak, though he still holds a solid 7-3 record and respectable 3.89 ERA on the season. Maeda will face the Giants on Monday in his next scheduled start.

  • Chris Paddack RP | TEX

Padres' Chris Paddack: Strikes out six in no-decision

Paddack did not factor into the decision versus the Giants on Tuesday, pitching five innings and giving up three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six.

On a positive note, Paddack allowed less than four earned runs for the first time in his last three starts and extended his streak of walking one batter or less to 10 consecutive games. On the other hand, he failed to make it past the fifth inning for the fourth time in five starts and saw his ERA reach its high point of the season at 3.15. While Paddack has maintained a strong strikeout rate, his 5.76 ERA over the rough five-game stretch is a far cry from his early-season dominance. His next start is scheduled for Sunday in Colorado.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Hit hard in loss

Peralta (3-3) took the loss Tuesday as the Brewers fell 10-8 to the Astros, coughing up six runs on eight hits and a walk over four-plus innings while striking out seven.

Five of the eight hits by Houston went for extra bases, including homers by Tyler White and Yuli Gurriel. Peralta now has a 5.81 ERA and 59:14 K:BB through 48 innings, and with Jhoulys Chacin (back) nearing a return, he could be headed back to the bullpen.

  • Luis Castillo SP | CHW

Reds' Luis Castillo: Whiffs six in no-decision

Castillo allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings Tuesday against the Indians. He did not factor into the decision.

Castillo's only earned run came on a homer by Carlos Santana in the fourth inning. He was tagged for three other extra-base hits -- all doubles -- but worked around them with timely strikeouts, particularly in the sixth frame when he struck out the final two batters with the bases loaded. Castillo now has a 2.20 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 81.2 innings to go along with 96 strikeouts. His next start is currently scheduled for Monday against Houston.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Dealing with lower-back tightness

Urena will be placed on the 10-day injured list with lower-back tightness Wednesday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

It was already known Urena was headed the IL, but the type of injury sending him there was previously unclear. Jordan Yamamoto will be called up to make his major-league debut Wednesday in Urena's absence. The 27-year-old has no official timeline for his return, as the severity of the injury has yet to be announced.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Heading to injured list

Urena will be placed on the 10-day injured list with an undisclosed injury Wednesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Urena last pitched Friday against the Braves and allowed six runs on 11 hits over three innings, but there was no previous indication of any injury concerns. Jordan Yamamoto is set to be called up to fill Urena's spot in the starting rotation Wednesday versus the Cardinals.
