  • Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Allows two runs in win over Pirates

DeSclafani (2-1) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk across 5.2 innings en route to a win Sunday against the Pirates. He struck out four.

DeSclafani recorded his longest outing since returning from the disabled list and limited baserunners to great effect, with his only two real mistakes coming on solo home runs in the second and fifth innings. He threw an impressive 68 percent of his pitches for strikes and fired in first-pitch strikes to 16 of 21 batters. DeSclafani struggled in his first outing of the season, but he's gotten progressively better with each start and owns a solid 15:4 K:BB over 15.2 total innings. He'll look to continue rounding into form Saturday against the Cubs.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Takes loss against Cardinals

Quintana (6-5) took the loss against the Cardinals on Sunday, giving up two earned runs on four hits over five innings, striking out three and walking two in the Cubs' 5-0 defeat.

Quintana pitched well against St. Louis, but his teammates couldn't manage to score a run off Jack Flaherty or the Cardinals bullpen, sending him to his fifth loss of the season. He's put together a nice string of outings since giving up four earned in just 4.1 innings against the Giants on May 26, as this marked the fourth start in a row that Quintana has given up two or fewer earned runs. Overall, he holds a 4.06 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP through 75.1 innings this season.

  • Jack Flaherty SP | DET

Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Sharp against Cubs

Flaherty threw five shutout innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Sunday, giving up just two hits, striking out seven and walking three as the Cardinals prevailed 5-0.

Flaherty certainly pitched well enough to get his fourth victory of the season in this contest, but he ended up leaving after tossing 97 pitches in his five innings, ultimately settling for a no-decision. It was still another great outing from the young right-hander, who is having a superb season so far with a 2.66 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP and a 55:14 K:BB through 50.2 innings.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

Mets' Zack Wheeler: Solid six-inning effort

Wheeler allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight across six innings Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He did not factor into the decision.

Wheeler began the game with three clean innings but allowed four consecutive Diamondbacks to reach base in the fourth inning, accounting for the two runs he allowed. The only extra-base hit he yielded was a double, marking the fourth time in his past six starts that he didn't surrender a home run. While still inconsistent -- he allowed six earned runs in his previous outing -- Wheeler is a good source of strikeouts and has performed much better of late, as he has seen his ERA drop from 5.92 to 4.82 in six starts since May 16.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rockies' Jon Gray: Strikes out nine in no-decision

Gray allowed six runs (five earned) in five-plus innings Sunday, striking out nine while yielding six hits and a walk. He didn't factor into the decision during Colorado's 13-12 loss to Texas.

Gray was solid through five innings on the afternoon, allowing just one run and striking out nine. Things unraveled in the sixth, though, as Gray gave up five runs without recording an out, including a three-run blast by Jurickson Profar that would be the nail in the coffin on his start. The 26-year-old's already ugly ERA rose to 5.89, and he's allowed three or more earned runs in his past seven starts. He'll look to turn things around against Miami on Friday.

  • Jake Thompson SP | PHI

Phillies' Jake Thompson: Grabs one-out save

Thompson needed just one pitch to record one out and record the save in Sunday's 10-9 win over the Brewers.

It was Thompson's second save of the season and his first since early April. Hector Neris was rocked for four runs in the ninth before Thompson was able to save the day. Thompson owns an ugly 7.00 ERA with nine strikeouts in nine innings this season. Even with Neris struggling, Thompson likely won't gain a relevant spot in the Phillies' committee, especially with the way Seranthony Dominguez is throwing.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Lasts just 4.1 innings Sunday

Nola threw 4.1 innings Sunday, allowing four runs on four walks and seven hits, but he didn't factor into the decision as the Phillies won 10-9. He struck out four and allowed one home run.

It wasn't the sharpest outing, but at least Nola avoided a loss with his team's strong offensive performance. Even with the rough day, the 25-year-old has a strong 2.55 ERA and a 94:26 K:BB in 95.1 innings. He'll have a tough matchup next weekend in Washington.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Knocked around in loss

Anderson (5-6) allowed six earned runs in 5.1 innings Sunday, yielding five hits and two walks while taking the loss against the Phillies. He also gave up two home runs and struck out five.

Rhys Hoskins and Maikel Franco tagged Anderson with a two-run homer in the first and fourth innings, respectively. Anderson's season ERA has swelled up to 4.54 in 77.1 innings with an unsightly 54:30 K:BB. The 30-year-old righty will look to get back in the win column Friday against St. Louis.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Making progress toward return

Darvish (triceps) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

If all goes well, Darvish is slated to take another step forward in his recovery process, although he'll likely be on the shelf for at least a few more weeks. He tossed a bullpen session June 12 and felt good afterwards, but his next test will be facing live hitting.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Deals with cramps upon return

Teheran started to cramp up in his right hamstring during the sixth inning of Sunday's outing against the Padres, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Teheran, who was working on a no-hitter, was able to finish the inning, but he didn't have much flexibility in his hamstring upon reaching the dugout, and he was lifted from the game following the sixth frame, per Bowman. He'll be listed as day-to-day moving forward, with the extent of the injury currently unknown. Teheran surrendered no runs on three walks while striking out 11 across six no-hit innings prior to leaving the tilt, as he picked up the win and improved his record to 5-4 on the year. His next start would likely come Sunday against the Orioles if he's healthy.
