Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Allows three runs, strikes out eight Sunday
Strasburg (1-0) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks across seven innings in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Phillies. He struck out eight en route to a no-decision.
Strasburg was dominant for stretches, but he allowed the Phillies to scratch a run across when three men reached in the second inning and two more in a similar situation in the fifth. He had no chance to earn a victory despite tossing a quality start, as the offense waited until the ninth inning to get on the board. Strasburg has been solid if unspectacular through two starts, posting a 3.21 ERA and an 11:3 K:BB ratio through 14 innings. He will next face this same Phillies team at home Friday.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Set to start Sunday
Syndergaard (finger) is starting Sunday's game against the Marlins.
After dealing with a blister, Syndergaard is in full health and ready to take the mound for Sunday night's game as planned. In his season opener, Syndergaard struck out seven batters over six scoreless innings.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Sent to Triple-A
Marquez was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Jenny Cavnar of ROOT Sports reports.
Marquez was sent to the minors in order to make room for Chris Rusin, who was activated from the disabled list Sunday. The 22-year-old did not make an appearance during his short stint in the majors to begin the year.

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Excellent in first start of season
Wacha (1-0) gave up an earned run on three hits and a walk across six innings in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Reds. He struck out six.
Wacha carried over his considerable spring success into the regular season to the delight of the Cardinals and fantasy owners, getting through his six frames in an efficient 83 pitches. He missed plenty of bats as well, recording 13 swinging strikes. Wacha encouragingly induced eight groundball outs as well and completely avoided the long ball against the likes of Joey Votto and Adam Duvall. The outing was exactly what the Cardinals and Wacha had hoped to see after his resurgent spring, and he'll look to continue his success against the Yankees on Friday night.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Claims first win of season
Greinke (1-0) limited the Indians to one run on five hits and no walks while striking out six batters in Saturday's 11-2 victory.
Greinke's line would be splendid against any team, but the fact that he turned in such a dominant showing against the reigning American League champs should make fantasy owners even more confident that his spring struggles weren't a true picture of his talents. Through his first two starts of the season, his velocity hasn't dipped much from previous years, and he's shown impressive control with just two walks over 11.2 innings. He'll have another tough test awaiting him Friday against the Dodgers on the road, but he's pitched well enough to deserve a spot in most fantasy lineups for the upcoming week.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Earns win in season debut
Nola allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings Saturday against the Nationals to pick up his first win of the season. He struck out seven and walked two.
This was Nola's first regular-season start since last July, when he went on the disabled list due to an elbow injury. He was hitting 94 mph with his fastball and had good movement on his two-seamer. The young righty will face the Nationals again in his next start.
-
Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Brewers' Tommy Milone: Goes just four innings in season debut
Milone gave up four runs on nine hits and a walk over only four innings in Saturday's loss to the Cubs, although he avoided factoring into the decision.
It took him 89 pitches to get through those four frames, which is awfully reminiscent of last season's returns for Milone. The lefty averaged less than five innings during his 12 starts in 2016, and he averaged a homer per start as well. There's no reason to own him in fantasy outside of an act of true desperation.
-
Jon Gray SP | TEX
Rockies' Jon Gray: Lasts 5.1 innings in no-decision Saturday
Gray lasted 5.1 innings in Saturday's no-decision against the Dodgers, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with one strikeout.
Gray allowed a solo homer in the fifth inning but was otherwise able to limit the damage by inducing 11 groundball outs. He struggled to throw strikes at times and was in the zone at just a 55 percent clip, but the Dodgers struggled to square him up and were unable to mount any rallies. Unfortunately, his own offense waited until the sixth inning to take the lead, costing him a chance at a victory. Gray showed a marked improvement from a poor start in the season opener and will look to get his first win of the season Thursday against the Giants.
-
Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Allows four runs in victorious season debut
Hendricks (1-0) gave up four runs on five hits and a walk in six innings Saturday, though he struck out six and came away with a win over the Brewers.
He uncharacteristically gave up a pair of homers -- Hendricks allowed just 15 in 30 starts last year -- but he also helped his own cause by collecting two singles, an RBI and a run. Despite being the Cubs' third-best starter, he's lining up fifth in the rotation right now, which may provide Hendricks extra opportunities to rack up wins, as he's better by far than any other team's No. 5 (like Saturday's starter for the Brewers, Tommy Milone). However, his next start is scheduled for Friday afternoon at home against young Pirates ace Gerrit Cole.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Allows four runs en route to loss Saturday
Kershaw (1-1) allowed four runs on eight hits across six innings in Saturday's loss to the Rockies. He struck out six.
Kershaw fell victim to the long ball in this one, allowing a solo home run in the first inning before allowing a pair of homers that accounted for three more runs in the sixth. He still consistently threw strikes and has not walked a batter while striking out 14 through 13 innings thus far. Given his excellence in his first start, Kershaw's struggles Saturday are likely nothing more than a speed bump in what should be another great season, which he will continue Thursday against the Cubs.
