Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Drops first start of season
Maeda (0-1) gave up three runs on six hits and a pair of walks over five innings in a 4-0 loss to San Diego on Tuesday. He struck out four.
This surely wasn't how Maeda wanted to open his season, as the Padres got to him right away with a pair of first-inning runs. He ended up being lifted early in an attempt to generate some offense, but the Dodgers got nothing done at the plate against Clayton Richard and reliever Brad Hand, who combined on the shutout. Nonetheless, fantasy owners should expect big things from Maeda in his second MLB season; starts like this will be the exception, not the rule.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Allows two runs, takes loss versus Cubs
Wainwright (0-1) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks across five innings during Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Cubs. He struck out six.
Wainwright allowed two runs as four straight men reached base in the fourth inning, but he was lights-out aside from that particular frame and allowed just two additional baserunners. The veteran posted a disappointing 4.62 ERA while logging 198.2 innings in 2016 and is off to a respectable start to what he hopes will be a bounce-back campaign. He threw 82 pitches in this one and should be expected to bump up his workload in his next start Monday against the Nationals.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Hit hard in Tuesday's loss
Davies (0-1) coughed up six runs on nine hits and four walks in 4.1 innings during Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies. He struck out only one.
It was a rough beginning to the 2017 season for Davies, who threw just 50 of 98 pitches for strikes Tuesday. The 24-year-old was surprisingly reliable for the Brewers last year after shaking off an 8.78 ERA in April, though, so he'll likely have a long leash this year if he has another slow start.
-
Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Whiffs eight in Tuesday's win
Anderson (1-0) gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out eight in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Brewers.
Fantasy GMs who streamed the lefty for his road start were at least rewarded with a win and some K's, but Anderson didn't do their ERA any favors. His next trip to the mound will come Tuesday against the Dodgers back in Coors Field, but that might be to his advantage after he posted a 3.00 ERA at home as a rookie last year.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Placed on High-A roster
Urias was placed on option to the High-A Rancho Cucamonga roster Tuesday but will make his 2017 debut for Triple-A Oklahoma City, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
This comes as somewhat of a surprise, as it was thought that Urias would open the year at extended spring training until there was a spot for him in the majors. Given the Dodgers are already being overcautious with his innings, any extra innings tossed at Triple-A will likely cut down the number of innings owners will be able to get out of him this year. Despite the 20-year-old's innings limitations, he still retains one of the higher per-inning upside of young pitchers, so he's probably worth a stash in most formats.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Brewers' Tommy Milone: Set to start Saturday
Milone will start for the Brewers on Saturday, April 8 against the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
With Junior Guerra headed to the DL for an extended period with a right calf strain, it appears Milone is in line to replace him in the rotation. Manager Craig Counsell confirmed the 30-year-old would start in Guerra's place Saturday, though he didn't indicate whether this would be more than a one-time thing, especially with the return of Matt Garza from the 10-day DL looming.
-
Ian Kahaloa SP | CIN
Reds' Ian Kahaloa: Suspended for 50 games
Kahaloa has been suspended for 50 games due to a second positive test for a drug of abuse, the Cincinnati Enquirer's Zach Buchanan reports.
Kahaloa was a fifth-round pick by the Reds in 2015. He pitched 44.2 innings at Rookie-level Billings over 10 starts last season, posting a 2.82 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with a 42:13 K:BB.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Has slight UCL tear, no surgery for now
Lugo has a slight UCL tear in his elbow and has received a PRP injection in an effort to avoid surgery, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.
He was prescribed at least two more weeks of rest, and the team is hopeful that surgery won't be needed. Lugo, who has one of the best curveballs in the game, was battling for a rotation spot in camp, but would have likely opened the year in the big-league bullpen or the Triple-A rotation, even if he remained healthy. Once he returns, he is worth a flyer in deeper formats in case he works his way into the rotation, but he can be cut loose for now in the majority of single-season formats.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Brewers' Tommy Milone: Candidate to join Brewers' rotation
Milone could take the place of the injured Junior Guerra (calf) next time through the Brewers' rotation, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Milone competed for a starting job this spring and did not come away with one of the five spots, but the Brewers are already in need of another starter with Guerra injured, and Milone is the top option should the team decide to use a pitcher currently on the active roster. Milone tossed two innings Monday after Guerra left the game and allowed two earned runs on three hits while posting two strikeouts and zero walks.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Starting at Double-A
Soroka will skip High-A and begin the season in the rotation at Double-A Mississippi.
Soroka, along with Max Fried and Kolby Allard, will bypass High-A, in part because all three are incredibly talented, and in part because the Braves have so many quality arms in the lower levels that they wanted to open some rotation spots at High-A. While Soroka was one of the most advanced pitchers in the lower levels last year, it would not be surprising if he struggled, at least initially, given how aggressive this assignment is.
