Sproat (0-1) allowed three runs on three hits and four walks over six innings Sunday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Reds.

Sproat was promoted for his MLB debut Sunday and delivered a quality start. He gave up just one run through five innings before the Reds scored a pair in the sixth. He tossed 58 of his 88 pitches for strikes, but he forced only six whiffs. Sproat has a deep arsenal, led by his sinker that averaged 95.9 mph Sunday. As of now, the 24-year-old would be lined up for a home start against Texas next weekend, but it's unclear if he'll stay in the rotation.

Greene (6-4) allowed a run on one hit and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out 12 and earning a win over the Mets.

Greene gave up a solo homer to Brett Baty in the third inning but was otherwise untouchable in a huge win Sunday. It was Greene's longest start since April 13, and he tied his season high with 12 punchouts. He also matched his season best with 21 whiffs, including 11 with his fastball that averaged 100.2 mph. The flamethrowing righty now owns a 2.59 ERA with a 113:19 K:BB through 90.1 innings this season. Greene has produced a 2.35 ERA with a 40:5 K:BB in five appearances since returning from the injured list. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Athletics next weekend.

Fried (16-5) yielded three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Blue Jays.

Fried gave up a pair of runs in the second inning and another in the third but finished his outing with four scoreless frames. In his first three starts of August, Fried coughed up 15 runs in 15 frames. However, he's since turned in four straight quality starts and dropped his season ERA back down to 3.02. The veteran southpaw has produced a 1.67 ERA with a 22:9 across 27 frames over his last four appearances. Fried is lined up to start in Boston next weekend.

Alvarez did not factor into Sunday's decision against the Cubs, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out two across 4.2 innings.

Alvarez limited the Cubs to one run through four innings, which came on a Carson Kelly solo shot in the second frame. Alvarez was pulled in the fifth after yielding two baserunners and was tagged for an additional run on a Seiya Suzuki RBI single. Alvarez has yielded two runs across 9.2 major-league innings this season and is slated to make his next start against the Pirates at home next weekend.

Scherzer (5-3) yielded four runs on three hits and four walks over 4.1 innings Sunday, striking out eight and taking a loss against the Yankees.

Scherzer coughed up a three-run homer to Ben Rice in the first inning and an RBI double to Cody Bellinger in the third. It was Scherzer's second straight outing of fewer than five innings pitched, though the eight punchouts were his most since fanning 11 Tigers on July 27. He posted a streak of five consecutive quality starts but has since allowed 12 runs in 14.1 innings, raising his season ERA from 3.60 to 4.36 in the process. Scherzer is currently expected to face the Orioles at home next weekend.

Teng (2-4) took the loss against the Cardinals on Sunday, allowing four runs on three hits and five walks while striking out eight across four innings.

Teng and Sonny Gray were locked in a pitchers' duel Sunday, with the former keeping the Cardinals off the board through the first four frames. Things fell apart in the fifth for Teng, who issued three straight walks before yielding an RBI single and being pulled from the inning, but not before being tagged for three more runs. Teng was able to generate 14 whiffs on 77 pitches (41 strikes) and has registered eight strikeouts in back-to-back starts, but his five walks were a season high. The Giants currently have a six-man rotation, but it's unclear whether Teng will get another turn or head back to Triple-A Sacramento.

Gray (13-8) earned the win against the Giants on Sunday, allowing three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out six across 5.1 innings.

Gray retired the first 11 batters he faced and kept the Giants off the board through the first five frames. He was brought out for the sixth inning to earn the quality start, but Gray allowed five of the first six batters on base before being pulled for Matt Svanson. Gray has struggled to finish in his last two starts, and the veteran right-hander has a 4.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 179:35 K:BB across 163.2 innings this season. He's slated to make his next start next weekend on the road against the Brewers.

Nelson allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Red Sox on Sunday.

Nelson put in a good start, but the Diamondbacks' bullpen failed to hold the lead by allowing three runs in the seventh inning and three more in the ninth. Nelson has logged four straight quality starts, allowing eight runs with a 19:6 K:BB in that span, but he has just one win in that span. For the season, he's at a 3.48 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 118:36 K:BB through 137 innings over 30 outings (20 starts). The right-hander's next start is projected to be on the road in Minnesota.

Bello allowed three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two over six innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Bello has logged quality starts in four of his last five outings, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) over 31 innings in that span. He was in line for the win when the Red Sox took the lead in the top of the seventh, but the bullpen wasn't able to keep that lead. Bello is now at a 3.12 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 114:51 K:BB through 152.2 innings over 26 appearances (25 starts). The 26-year-old's next start is expected to be at home versus the Yankees.

Misiorowski (5-2) allowed one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Pirates.

Misiorowski got back to his dominant ways Sunday after some recent struggles. Aside from Liover Peguero's second-inning RBI single, the Pirates did not pose much of a threat. Misiorowski set new career highs with seven innings and 108 pitches. The flamethrowing righty had given up 14 runs in 14.2 frames (8.59 ERA) in four appearances since returning from the injured list before Sunday's impressive performance. Misiorowski will carry a 4.09 ERA and a 77:24 K:BB across 55 innings into his next outing, which is expected to be at home against the Cardinals next weekend.
