Pallante (4-6) took the loss Monday against the Mets, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two.

Pallante worked in and out of trouble over the first four frames Monday, giving up only one run before running into a buzzsaw in the fifth that was capped by a three-run double by Tyrone Taylor. Pallante has pitched well since joining the rotation in late May, posting a 3.61 ERA over 52.1 frames covering 10 starts, but Monday's outing was his fourth start in that span in which he allowed four runs or more. He should get more opportunities to start as long as Lance Lynn remains out, but his days as a starter could end when Lynn returns to the fold.

Manaea (8-4) picked up the win Monday, scattering six hits over seven scoreless innings in a 6-0 victory against the Cardinals. He struck out 10.

Manaea tossed a gem for his second consecutive outing, the first time since 2018 in which he throws back-to-back starts of seven innings without allowing an earned run. Manaea picked up double-digit strikeouts in consecutive starts for the first time in his career. The 32-year-old is 5-1 with a 2.28 ERA over his last 10 starts, the fourth-best ERA in the National League over that span.

Webb (9-8) earned the win Monday against Washington, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

The San Francisco right-hander survived a hot afternoon at Nationals Park, tossing 95 pitches in this outing as the Washington lineup worked counts. Webb has now issued three or more walks in four of his last seven starts, pitching to a 4.03 ERA with 35:16 K:BB across 44.2 innings. Overall, the 27-year-old sports a 3.42 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 125:39 K:BB in 150 innings this season. Webb currently lines up to make his next start against the Tigers in Detroit this weekend.

Single-A Bradenton reinstated Kennedy (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list Friday.

Kennedy had been on the shelf since June 16 before he made his return to action Friday against Palm Beach. He started and covered three innings, striking out four batters while giving up one earned run on two hits and zero walks. The 19-year-old lefty owns a 4.61 ERA and 64:11 K:BB across 56.2 innings for Bradenton this season.

Suarez (back) threw a bullpen session Monday without issue, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Suarez completed his expected throwing session Monday and will likely be checked on Tuesday by the club's training staff to determine if he can advance to the next step in his rehab. The southpaw will need to progress to facing live hitters before getting the green light to return from the 15-day injured list.

Weathers (finger) completed a flat-ground throwing session Monday and is hopeful to resume throwing bullpen sessions in two weeks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Weathers was placed on the injured list June 8 with a left index finger strain and has had a slow recovery thus far. Though his workout Monday is a step in the right direction, Weathers isn't on pace to face hitters until late August in a best-case scenario, and he'll require multiple rehab starts after that before a return from the 60-day IL becomes a possibility. The southpaw might not have enough time to get fully stretched out for a starting role during his rehab assignment, so if he comes off the IL in September, he might have to work out of the bullpen.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Monday that Cobb (hip) is on track to return from the 60-day injured list to make a start at some point during this weekend's four-game series in Minnesota, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Cobb has spent the entire 2024 campaign on the IL while working his way back from offseason left hip surgery and hitting a couple road bumps in the rehab process along the way, but he looks to be back to optimal health and fully stretched out for a starting role. After Cobb made six rehab appearances from June 30 through July 26, he was traded from the Giants to the Guardians last week and shifted his rehab assignment to Triple-A Columbus. He looked good during his start with Columbus on Saturday, tossing 69 pitches and covering 4.2 innings while striking out five and allowing five baserunners.

Boyd (elbow) is scheduled to make another rehab start for Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

The upcoming start will be the fifth and possibly final outing of Boyd's rehab assignment before he's activated from the 15-day injured list. The left-hander has been recovering from Tommy John surgery but has flashed increased velocity to go along with strong results during his rehab stint. With Alex Cobb (hip/shoulder) slated to return from the 60-day injured list this weekend and Carlos Carrasco struggling, it's unclear how the Guardians will fill out the tail end of their rotation once Boyd is activated.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said that Bibee (shoulder) resumed playing catch Monday and is expected to slot back into the rotation soon, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Cleveland has already announced its three starters for the series with the Diamondbacks that begins Monday, so Bibee isn't expected to return to action until at least Friday, when the Guardians play a doubleheader in Minnesota. Bibee hasn't started since last Monday, when he experienced some tightness in his shoulder during his outing in Detroit. Assuming he responds well to playing catch and is able to complete a bullpen session in the next couple of days without issue, Bibee should get the green light to pitch at some point during the weekend series versus the Twins.

Luzardo (back) will remain shut down from throwing for at least six more weeks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Luzardo had been participating in workouts throughout July that focused on strengthening his forearm and shoulder. Still, he's yet to throw since being placed on the injured list June 22, and he isn't particularly close to doing so. It's looking increasingly unlikely that Luzardo will pitch again in 2024, especially with the non-contending Marlins having little at stake as the regular season winds down. Luzardo went 3-6 with a 5.00 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 58:22 K:BB over 66.2 innings before landing on the IL with a lumbar stress reaction.
