Pivetta didn't factor into the decision Friday, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in a 6-5 loss to the Royals. He struck out three.

Four of the six hits off Pivetta went for extra bases, including a solo shot by Bobby Witt in the first inning and a three-run blast by Jonathan India in the fifth that helped chase the right-hander from the game. Pivetta's homeritis is returning with a vengeance as the weather begins to warm up, and over his last 10 starts and 54 innings he's been taken deep 10 times, fueling a 5.00 ERA despite a 1.26 WHIP and 61:17 K:BB. He'll try to keep the ball in the park in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next week against the Nationals.

The Cardinals are likely to recall McGreevy from Triple-A Memphis to start Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

McGreevy was returned to Memphis on Friday following a spot start in Thursday's doubleheader versus the White Sox, but because he was serving as the club's 27th man that day, he is eligible to be recalled immediately rather than having to wait the typical 15 days. Giving McGreevy another spot start allows the Cardinals to provide extra rest for the regular members of their rotation amidst a stretch without many off days. The rookie right-hander tossed five innings of one-run ball against the White Sox and boasts a 2.70 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB over 16.2 frames at the big-league level in 2025.

Lorenzen came away with a no-decision in Friday's 6-5 win over the Padres, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander left the mound after 89 pitches (60 strikes) with the Royals ahead 4-2, but Lucas Erceg coughed up the lead in the seventh inning to deny Lorenzen his fifth win. Lorenzen's control has been shaky of late, and he's issued multiple free passes in four of his last five starts, posting a brutal 7.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB in 25 innings over that span. He'll try to tighten things up in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Rays.

Kikuchi didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Astros, giving up two runs on six hits over seven innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

The southpaw looked like he was headed for a disastrous outing when Jeremy Pena and Isaac Paredes launched back-to-back homers to lead off the game, but Kikuchi kept his focus and shut the door on Houston until exiting the mound after 103 pitches (69 strikes), including 33 called or swinging strikes. The quality start was his seventh of the season, and he'll take a 3.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 87:43 K:BB through 89.2 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Red Sox.

Palmquist is slated to start Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks at Coors Field.

The rookie will pick up a second turn through the rotation after being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to serve as a replacement for lefty Kyle Freeland (back), who was placed on the injured list last weekend. While stepping in for Freeland in Monday's 6-4 win over the Nationals, Palmquist took a no-decision and gave up four earned runs on four hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. Over his six starts this season with the Rockies, Palmquist owns a 7.76 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 18:16 K:BB in 26.2 innings.

Rocker is slated to start Saturday's game against the Pirates at PNC Park.

The Rangers recalled Rocker from Triple-A Round Rock last weekend to make a start against the White Sox, and though he battled persistent cramping in his legs throughout the afternoon, he emerged from the outing with a win after striking out six batters over five shutout innings. With Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) and Tyler Mahle (shoulder) not yet ready to return from the injured list, Rocker will make his second turn through the rotation Saturday.

Brown came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.

Brown nearly fell apart in the third inning -- the right-hander plunked Zach Neto with a pitch with one on, and after the two got into a shouting match that sparked both benches to empty, Brown walked Mike Trout to load the bases before escaping the jam by coaxing a grounder from Taylor Ward. A solo shot by Jo Adell in the fourth inning ended up accounting for the only damage off Brown, but the shaky third ran up his pitch count and he was lifted after 87 pitches (48 strikes). He's given up two runs or fewer in five straight outings, posting a 1.53 ERRA, 0.95 WHIP and 38:12 K:BB over 29.1 innings during that stretch. He'll look for his first win since June 1 in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Phillies.

Gomber (0-1) took the loss Friday as the Rockies fell 14-8 to the Diamondbacks, coughing up nine runs on 12 hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

After a strong season debut Sunday in his return from a shoulder injury, Gomber got caught up in a classic Coors Field barn burner. Half the hits off the southpaw went for extra bases, including homers by Ketel Marte, Eugenio Suarez and Ildemaro Vargas, and he managed only four swinging strikes among his 81 pitches (57 total strikes). Gomber's next start is scheduled to come on the road next week, but the matchup won't get any easier as he faces the Dodgers.

Petty is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Louisville to work in relief behind opening pitcher Brent Suter in Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Manager Terry Francona is labeling Saturday's contest as a bullpen day, but assuming he's formally recalled from the Reds' taxi squad, Petty will likely be tasked with covering multiple innings in relief once Suter exits the contest. Petty yielded 13 earned runs in 5.1 innings over his prior two big-league appearances this season, but he pitched to a 2.70 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB in 16.2 innings over four starts with Louisville upon being demoted May 21.

Gallen (5-8) picked up the win Friday, surrendering seven runs on 10 hits and a walk over five innings in a 14-8 victory over the Rockies. He struck out five.

In a classic Coors Field offensive free-for-all, Gallen got rocked for six runs in the fourth inning, including homers by Ryan McMahon and Mickey Moniak. Arizona retook the lead in the top of the fifth, however, and the right-hander got through the minimum frames necessary to qualify for the win. The seven runs allowed tied Gallen's season-worst performance, and he'll carry a 5.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 86:41 K:BB through 91.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week against the White Sox.
