Jones signed a minor-league contract with the Astros on Thursday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Jones was let go by the White Sox on May 10 after slashing .145/.254/.258 across 71 plate appearances at Triple-A Charlotte. Now part of the Astros organization, the 27-year-old switch-hitter will fill in as outfield depth for Triple-A Sugar Land, and he's unlikely to get another look in the majors as long as he continues hitting the way he has been.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that it will be another 7-to-10 days before Seager (hamstring) is activated from the 10-day injured list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Seager has resumed running and is doing "very well" in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, per Bochy. However, this is his second hamstring-related IL stint this season, his third since 2023 and fourth in his career, so the Rangers want to be cautious with the shortstop. Seager has been sent to be "further evaluated by somebody else," Bochy said, to see if there might be something the team and Seager can do differently with his rehab to prevent future hamstring problems. Seager has been limited to just 26 games this season because of his recurring hamstring issues, but he's been productive when on the field, slashing .300/.346/.520 with six home runs.

The Twins are expected to activate Correa from the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

There was no corresponding move announced with Ryan Fitzgerald's demotion to Triple-A St. Paul, pointing to Correa being ready to roll on the first day he's eligible to be activated. He's missed the past week of action after experiencing concussion symptoms as a result of a collision with teammate Byron Buxton, but Correa's symptoms have dissipated and he will skip a rehab assignment and go directly back onto the Twins' active roster.

Wilson (forearm) will start at shortstop and bat second in Thursday's game against the Angels.

After getting plunked on the left forearm in Tuesday's 7-5 loss, Wilson sustained nothing more than a bruise, but the Athletics still elected to keep him out of the lineup for Wednesday's 10-5 loss. The rookie infielder looks like he'll be ready to go following a day of rest and will slot back to his usual spot in the two hole. Wilson enters Thursday's contest with a .341 batting average, good for third in the majors among qualified hitters.

Smith is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

The left-handed-hitting Smith started at shortstop and batted ninth in Wednesday's 4-3 loss while left-hander Ryan Yarbrough took the hill for the Yankees, but Smith will check out of the lineup for the series finale with New York sending another southpaw (Carlos Rodon) to the bump. Ezequiel Duran will spell Smith at shortstop.

Meidroth went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base Wednesday against the Mariners.

Meidroth hit only .228 across his first 19 games in the majors, but his more recent sample has been positive. He has at least one hit in each of his last nine starts -- including five multi-hit games -- and has hit .417 with one homer, three RBI, six runs scored and five stolen bases in that span.

Neto went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a stolen base against the Athletics in a 10-5 win Wednesday.

Neto's power and speed were both on display in the win -- he popped a two-run homer in the third inning, then reached on an infield single, stole a base and came around to score in the ninth. The talented young shortstop missed the first few weeks of the season while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, but that issue seems well behind him. Neto has posted an .889 OPS through 30 games, collecting eight homers, eight steals, 18 RBI and 25 runs scored.

Bichette went 2-for-6 with two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 14-0 win over the Padres.

It was another multi-hit game by Bichette, who now has 19 such occurrences in 2025. Over his last 20 outings (85 at-bats), the 27-year-old shortstop is batting a strong .294 with four homers, seven doubles, 11 RBI, 11 runs scored and two stolen bases. Bichette ranks sixth in the American League with 59 hits on the season.

Wilson was pulled from Tuesday's contest after taking a pitch off his left forearm, and he'll get another day off to recover Wednesday. Max Schuemann will get the nod at shortstop instead and bat ninth.

Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta said Wednesday that Correa's concussion symptoms are improving, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Both Correa and Byron Buxton landed on the 7-day concussion injured list after the two were involved in an on-field collision May 15. Correa is farther along of the two in his recovery, although the Twins haven't offered up a timetable for his return. He is eligible for activation Friday.
