  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Swipes bag, scores run

Story went 3-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 4-2 loss to Minnesota.

Story knocked three singles and stole his first base since June 26. He's 4-for-6 in two games since returning from the injured list after dealing with a wrist injury. He's now slashing .230/.298/.428 with 11 steals, 51 runs scored and 32 extra-base hits through 83 games.

  • Jeter Downs SS | NYY

Red Sox's Jeter Downs: Deactivated at Triple-A

Triple-A Worcester placed Downs (ankle) on its 7-day injured list Thursday.

Downs hadn't played for Worcester since Aug. 18 with a left ankle injury before being deactivated a week later. The 24-year-old debuted in the majors earlier this season and hit .154 over 14 games, but his ankle injury may take a promotion back to Boston off the table when the active roster expands to 28 men in September.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: MRI comes back clean

Crawford (pectoral) underwent an MRI on Sunday that didn't reveal any structural damage, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Crawford was held out of Sunday's lineup against the Guardians due to his pectoral issue, but he doesn't appear to be dealing with a significant injury. The 27-year-old is considered day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Detroit.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Removed with back injury

Baez was removed from Sunday's win over the Rangers due to back stiffness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

The 29-year-old also missed Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh due to a back issue, but manager A.J. Hinch didn't sound too concerned about Baez's current injury following Sunday's removal. Baez went 1-for-3 with a run, a walk and a strikeout prior to exiting Sunday's game, and he'll have at least one day to rest ahead of Tuesday's series opener against Seattle.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Two homers in loss

Seager went 2-for-4 with two homers, three runs scored, three RBI and a walk in a 9-8 loss Sunday against Detroit.

Seager did his best to bring the Rangers back from a 9-0 deficit, launching a solo homer in the sixth to get the scoring started, walking and scoring in the eighth and adding a two-run blast in the ninth to bring Texas within one run. The homers were his 27th and 28th long balls of the season, eclipsing his previous career-best of 26. In August he has a .284/.368/.480 slash line with five homers and a 12:15 BB:K in 26 games.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: On base four times Sunday

Bichette went 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Angels.

The two-hit effort comes amidst a stretch during which the shortstop is hitting .370 since Aug. 21. With the two walks, he also improved his OBP to .305, his highest since July 29. Bichette has been a disappointment for many fantasy managers thus far, but his batted-ball metrics are still upper tier, and he could very well make a difference if he stays hot down the stretch.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Out Sunday with pec injury

Crawford's absence from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians is the result of a pectoral injury, Jen Mueller of Root Sports Northwest reports.

According to Mueller, Crawford said the injury first started bothering him in Saturday's 4-3 loss, and the 27-year-old is scheduled to undergo further imaging Monday, when the Mariners have an off day before heading to Detroit for Tuesday's series opener with the Tigers. Dylan Moore will draw the start Sunday at shortstop in place of Crawford, who can be viewed as day-to-day until the results of his upcoming tests are made available.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Steps out of lineup

Crawford is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Cleveland, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Crawford started the past 14 games and will receive a day off after posting a .273/.370/.318 slash line during that span. Dylan Moore will take over at shortstop in Sunday's series finale.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Records pair of steals

Witt went 1-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases, a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Padres.

Witt walked, stole a base and scored in the Royals' three-run first inning. He'd get aboard again in the second with a single and added another steal, but the offense struggled to get anything else going in the contest. The rookie infielder has racked up six of his 26 steals in August, and he's tied with the Cardinals' Tommy Edman for fourth in the majors in thefts. Witt is riding an eight-game hitting streak that has lifted his slash line to .254/.297/.447 with 18 home runs, 64 RBI and 64 runs scored through 117 contests.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Takes seat Sunday

Story is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Story went 1-for-3 with a run scored in his return from the injured list Saturday, but he'll step out of the lineup for the series finale versus Tampa Bay. Christian Arroyo will start at the keystone and bat sixth Sunday.
