Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Clubs two-run homer vs. Indians

Adrianza went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 5-3 loss to Cleveland.

Adrianza made the Indians pay in the fifth inning after they committed a throwing error, as he launched a two-run blast over the fence in right field. The 29-year-old is batting .260 with two home runs and seven RBI through 19 games in August. However, don't expect him to serve as much of a power threat down the stretch as he's hit just six home runs over 92 contests in 2018.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: In Thursday's lineup

Anderson (ankle) will start at shortstop and bat fifth against Boston on Thursday.

Anderson returns to the lineup after sitting out Wednesday's contest due to a bruised left ankle. He should be fully operational moving forward. Across 128 games this year, Anderson has hit .247/.291/.418 with 17 home runs, 58 RBI and 25 stolen bases.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Swipes two bags

Wendle went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and a walk in Wednesday's win over the Braves.

Wendle plated a couple runs on a two-out single in the first inning and extended a four-game multi-hit streak. The 28-year-old has been flashing his speed lately as well, as he's also swiped four bases in that span, making him 12-for-16 on the season.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Homers in second straight game

Mondesi went 2-for-3 with a homer, a triple, a walk, four RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.

Mondesi put the Royals up 2-1 in the second inning with his two-run shot off Michael Fulmer, and he extended the lead twice with a run-scoring triple in the fourth and an RBI walk in the fifth. The 23-year-old has homered in consecutive games, bringing his season total to six through 48 games.

Rays' Joey Wendle: Full stat line in loss

Wendle went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Wendle has now rattled off three straight two-hit games and has nine multi-hit efforts in August overall. The valued utility man has pushed his average ever close to the .300 mark with his impressive month at the plate, one that's seen him drive in 16 runs and generate a stellar .366 on-base percentage over 94 plate appearances.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Held out Wednesday

Anderson (ankle) is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Yankees.

Anderson will be withheld from the starting nine after exiting Tuesday's outing due to a bruised left ankle. He isn't expected to miss an extended period of time -- Anderson anticipated being in Wednesday's lineup. Jose Rondon will start at shortstop in his absence.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: On bench Wednesday

Gordon is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Padres, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Gordon sits after starting 12 straight games, a stretch in which he hit just .233. Robinson Cano will slide over to second base, with Ryon Healy starting at first.

  • Royals' Rosell Herrera: On bench against Tigers

Herrera is out of the lineup versus Detroit on Wednesday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Herrera will take a seat after starting seven of the past nine games, during which he's hit just .115/.179/.115 with three singles and 10 strikeouts. Jorge Bonifacio will start in right field while Lucas Duda mans the DH spot.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Says he's OK

Anderson, who left Tuesday's game against the Yankees with a bruised left ankle, said on MLB Network on Wednesday morning that he's fine and expects to be in the lineup for Wednesday night's game.

Wait for official confirmation once the Pale Hose make their evening lineup official, but Anderson seems to think he's fine and at the very least it sounds like he's not dealing with a more concerning injury.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Tallies three hits in loss

Fletcher went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Colorado.

Fletcher has started five consecutive games since suffering a knee contusion last Wednesday. The rookie infielder hasn't provided much in terms of power or speed in the majors this year, but he has demonstrated solid contact skills (.278 batting average), resulting in 26 runs and 22 RBI while batting in the top third of the order.
