Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts is getting a rare day off on Wednesday, as he is being held out of the starting lineup for the first time since June 20. Bogaerts has maintained a hot bat all year, and he is batting .327 with a home run, four doubles and eight RBI over his past 10 games.
Brock Holt will slide over to shortstop for Wednesday's matchup with the Indians.

Angels place RP Cory Rasmus, INF Taylor Featherston on DL
The Angels have placed reliever Cory Rasmus and infielder Taylor Featherston on the disabled list, per the Orange County Register.
Rasmus is dealing with a forearm strain after losing much of the season to an abdominal injury. He goes down with a 5.06 ERA in seven apparances and four runs allowed in his last four innings pitched.
Featherston, who is sidelined with an upper back strain, owns a terrible slash line of .130/.198/.196 in 92 at-bats. He has been used mostly as a defensive replacement.

Indians' Ryan Raburn activated from bereavement list; Walters optioned
The Indians have activated Ryan Raburn from the bereavement list, and optioned Zach Walters to Triple-A Columbus. Rabrun has been away from the team since Tuesday.
Walters went 0 for 3 in his only game since being recalled when Raburn left the team.

Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3 for 5 with a double and RBI in Friday's win over Minnesota.
The three-hit day extended Lindor's hitting streak to nine straight games. He's hitting .472 over the streak.

SS Cliff Pennington dealt from Diamondbacks to Jays
The Blue Jays have announced that they have acquired infielder Cliff Pennington from the Diamondbacks. They are receiving minor league shortstop Dawel Lugo in return. Toronto will receive cash in the deal as well.
Pennington, who would provide depth for Toronto, owns a slash line of .237/.314/.281 with one home run in 135 at-bats. He spent his first five seasons in the American League with Oakland.

Astros SS Carlos Correa delivers late two-run HR in win Thursday
Astros shortstop Carlos Correa came through in the clutch once again. The 20-year-old rookie went 2 for 4 on Thursday, including a go-ahead two-run home run in the eventual 5-4 extra-innings win over the A's.
Correa's home run--his 14th in just 51 games this season--came in the eighth inning with his club trailing 2-1. The two-run blast gave the Astros a 3-2 lead and instantly changed the landscape of the game.
Correa is batting .300 (12 for 40) with six home runs over his past 10 games.

Astros SS Carlos Correa goes deep again in loss on Monday
Astros shortstop Carlos Correa is certainly making his case for American League Rookie of the Year this season. On Monday, Correa hit his 13th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning. The early lead wouldn't hold however, as the Astros lost 12-9 to the Rangers.
The home run was Correa's fifth in his past seven games, and he is batting .345 with seven RBI over that stretch.

Astros SS Carlos Correa pops two home runs in win on Saturday
Astros rookie shortstop Carlos Correa had yet another big night at the plate in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Diamondbacks. The top prospect went 2 for 5 with a pair of home runs in the big victory.
Correa got the Astros on the board early when he slugged a solo home run in the first inning. He later added a two-run shot in the sixth to close out the scoring for the Astros.
The 20-year-old has hit safely in 15 of his past 16 games, batting .357 with three home runs and 13 RBI over that stretch.
