Adames went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 10-0 win over Atlanta.

The shortstop launched two-run shots off Bryce Elder in the first and third innings. It was Adames' second multi-homer performance of the season, with the other coming May 1 against the Rays. Over his last 20 games, he's posted a blistering .329/.391/.633 slash line with six homers, 13 runs and 17 RBI, and Adames sits one long ball short of his fourth straight 20-homer campaign.

Cruz was unavailable for Tuesday's game against the Padres due to an illness, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Cruz had started every game since the All-Star break, slashing .300/.354/.583 with three homers and 12 RBI in 15 games before his illness forced him to sit down Tuesday. Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Jared Triolo made up the middle of Pittsburgh's infield while Cruz was sidelined, and they would both likely get the starting nod again if the 25-year-old slugger is unable to play Wednesday.

Swanson went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Twins.

Swanson tallied just his second three-hit effort of the season and first since June 8. It's mostly been a struggle for the shortstop, who's batting just .230 with a .658 OPS for the year, but he's been better lately. Over his last 15 games, Swanson is batting .353 with an .855 OPS. The 30-year-old's MLB track record suggests he could sustain this level of production and finish the season on a high note.

Abrams went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 11-5 win over the Giants.

Abrams gave the Nationals the lead on a three-run homer in the second inning and added a single in the third. The shortstop has gone just 4-for-23 in five August contests after a rough July, but two of those hits have left the park. On the year, he is hitting .252 with 17 home runs, 57 RBI, 68 runs scored and 20 steals across 473 plate appearances.

De La Cruz went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-2 win over Miami.

De La Cruz has had quite a series against the Marlins thus far, going 8-for-10 with six extra-base hits (including two homers) in his last two games -- he'd gone 0-for-11 in his previous three contests. The 22-year-old shortstop is now slashing .268/.352/.505 through 479 plate appearances this year with 20 homers, 75 runs scored, 50 RBI and a league-leading 58 stolen bases.

Betts (hand) is expected to play shortstop and bat second in the Dodgers' lineup when he returns from the 10-day injured list, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

Betts is targeting a return to the major-league roster during the team's upcoming road trip that begins Monday, and when he returns, he'll be batting one slot back in the lineup. Betts has spent the entirety of the year as the leadoff hitter for Los Angeles, but he'll now operate in the No. 2 hole behind Shohei Ohtani and ahead of Freddie Freeman, breaking up the left-handers. With Ohtani's on-base percentage sitting at .397 on the year, the move in the lineup could lead to a slight increase in RBI opportunities for Betts.

Cruz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Cruz will sit Tuesday after a stretch of 17 straight starts, during which he had a .290/.333/.551 slash line with seven doubles, three homers, four steals, 15 RBI and 11 runs. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will shift to shortstop while Jared Triolo starts at second base.

Kim was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to soreness in his right triceps, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Kim began to feel soreness in his triceps Monday and the pain remained while he swung a bat Tuesday. The issue was bothering him enough to warrant a rest day, though it's unclear if he'll require additional time off. Kim should be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Luciano is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Luciano has gone 3-for-17 with a double and eight strikeouts in five games since being called up by the Giants last week, and he'll sit Sunday for the second time in the past three contests. Mark Canha will bat fifth as the designated hitter Tuesday at Washington.

Kim was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Kim was initially slated to bat sixth and play shortstop Tuesday, but he'll instead take a seat for the contest. The reason for Kim's removal from the starting nine is unknown. Tyler Wade will step into the lineup at shortstop.
