  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Takes seat Wednesday

Arcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia.

Phil Gosselin will check in at the keystone for Arcia, who has taken over as a full-time starter at the position since Ozzie Albies fractured his foot June 13. Arcia had started in each of Atlanta's last eight games, going 5-for-30 with two runs and an RBI during that stretch.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Steals 19th base in two-hit night

Edman went 2-for-4 with one RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 5-3 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Edman now has 19 stolen bases to tie him for second best in MLB. The prototypical leadoff hitter is also getting on base at a .342 clip and has come around to score 58 times in 2022, putting him second only to the Yankees' Aaron Judge in the latter category. Edman is delivering on his potential and is on pace for career highs in both offensive categories.

  • Diego Castillo 3B | MIN

Pirates' Diego Castillo: Slugs eighth homer

Castillo went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Nationals.

Castillo continued to display power, mashing his fifth home run in his last eight starts. He has eight home runs on the season but is still hitting just .195/.236/.357 across 199 plate appearances. The return of Josh VanMeter has crowded the team's infield, though Castillo drew the start in right field Tuesday at the expense of Bligh Madris.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Dodgers' Trea Turner: Launches 11th homer

Turner went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 7-4 loss to the Rockies on Tuesday.

Turner took advantage of the thin Colorado air to hit his 11th home run of the season. The consensus first-round fantasy pick heading into the season has been consistent all year long, and he now has 54 RBI to go along with 15 stolen bases and an elite .311 batting average, the latter figure good for 14th in MLB.

  • Jose Salas SS | MIN

Marlins' Jose Salas: Heads to High-A

The Marlins promoted Salas from Single-A Jupiter to High-A Beloit on Tuesday.

Salas turned in a .267/.355/.421 slash line in 257 plate appearances on Jupiter fo the season, but he had really heated up at the plate in June, as he produced a .993 OPS over his 21 games on the month. The 19-year-old switch hitter was also efficient on the basepaths, nabbing 15 steals on 16 attempts. The Marlins had been giving Salas exposure to multiple positions at Jupiter, with the teenager receiving starts at second base, shortstop and third base.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Day off Tuesday

Perdomo will sit Tuesday against the Padres.

Perdomo sits after going hitless in his last nine games. Jake Hager will take over at shortstop.

  • Oneil Cruz SS | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Slugs second career homer

Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday against the Nationals.

Cruz occupied the leadoff spot for the Pirates and smacked his first homer of 2022 in the fifth inning against Erick Fedde. He has delivered production in line with his promising tools across eight games in Pittsburgh by racking up four extra-base hits, driving in eight, scoring five runs and swiping a base.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Collects 18th steal

Edman went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Monday's 9-0 rout of the Marlins.

The 27-year-old infielder is in a bit of a funk at the plate, batting .147 (5-for-34) over the last eight games, but he's still maintained fantasy value with three steals. Edman is up to 18 stolen base on the season to go along with a .269/.340/.398 slash line, seven homers, 31 RBI and 56 runs through 74 contests.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Snags 22nd steal

Berti went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 9-0 loss to the Cardinals.

Brian Anderson made his return to action Monday and got the start at third base, but Berti slid over to second base and hit leadoff in the contest with Jazz Chisholm (undisclosed) getting another day off. Berti has hit safely in 11 straight starts, batting .356 (16-for-45) over that stretch with 10 of his 22 steals on the season.

  • Diego Castillo 3B | MIN

Pirates' Diego Castillo: Sits after five straight starts

Castillo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Castillo started each of the past five games and went 4-for-20 with three solo home runs over that stretch, but he benefited in part from lineup regulars Ke'Bryan Hayes and Oneil Cruz sitting out three and one of those contests, respectively. Both Hayes and Cruz are in the lineup Monday, and with Josh VanMeter (finger) also back from the 10-day injured list and Tucupita Marcano (illness) likely to come off the COVID-19-related IL by the end of the week, the Pirates suddenly have a logjam in the infield. The righty-hitting Castillo is thus likely to find himself as an odd man out for an everyday role, though he may still see steady starts against left-handed pitching.
