  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Dodgers' Trea Turner: Cracks grand slam

Turner went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a strikeout in a 10-3 triumph over Milwaukee on Sunday.

Turner stepped to the plate with the bases juiced in the fifth inning and took Milwaukee reliever Aaron Ashby 408 feet deep to left to increase Los Angeles' lead from one run to five. The speedy 28-year-old ends the regular season on a strong note with three home runs over his last three games and concludes the campaign with the NL batting title via a .328/.375/.536 slash line and career highs in home runs (28), runs (107) and RBI (77) along with 32 stolen bases in 148 games between Los Angeles and Washington.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Not starting season finale

Story is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Story will head to the bench for Game 162 in what is likely his final contest with the Rockies. He has a .215/.329/.471 slash line with 24 homers, 75 RBI, 88 runs and 20 stolen bases in 595 plate appearances as he's poised to enter free agency in the offseason.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Resting in season finale

Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Miami has little at stake in its season finale, so manager Don Mattingly will extend a breather to Rojas and a few of the team's other everyday players. Unless he makes a cameo off the bench as a pinch hitter, Rojas will conclude his eighth MLB campaign with a .265 batting average to go with nine home runs, 13 stolen bases, 66 runs and 48 RBI.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Mets' Javier Baez: On bench Sunday

Baez is not in the lineup Sunday against Atlanta.

Baez will sit for the second straight game to close out the season, though manager Luis Rojas indicated it's not due to any sort of injury. The 28-year-old is poised to enter free agency this offseason after posting a .265/.319/.494 slash line with 31 homers, 87 RBI, 80 runs and 18 stolen bases in 2021, though he could still make an appearance off the bench Sunday.

  • Paul DeJong SS | NYY

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Not starting Sunday

DeJong is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The 28-year-old started the past eight games at shortstop and hit .214/.258/.500 during that stretch, but he'll head to the bench for Game 162 now that Edmundo Sosa (wrist) is healthy. DeJong will enter the postseason in a reserve role for the Cardinals, barring another infield injury.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Sends homer No. 25

Adames went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run and two walks in an 8-3 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.

Adames walked and scored in the first inning, walked again in the sixth and smacked a solo home run in the ninth. The 26-year-old shortstop has three long balls in his last seven games, though he has only six hits in 29 at-bats during that stretch.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Goes deep again

Seager went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Saturday's 8-3 triumph over the Brewers.

Seager singled in the third inning and launched a solo home run in the fifth for his third multi-hit outing in his last four games. The shortstop is now 9-for-17 over his last four games with three doubles and four home runs and is looking primed for a strong postseason.

  • Oneil Cruz SS | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Picks up pair of hits in debut

Cruz went 2-for-5 with two singles, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Reds.

After tearing it up in the minors this season, Cruz was awarded a late season call-up, pushed for heavily by manager Derek Shelton. The 6-foot-7 shortstop did not disappoint, scalding a pair of base hits (including one that came off the bat at 118.2 mph) and picking up the first RBI of his career. As the third-ranked prospect in the Pirates' system, there are already high expectations for what the 22-year-old can bring to the table next year.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Mets' Javier Baez: Likely out again Sunday

Baez is not likely to be in Sunday's lineup against Atlanta for the final game of the regular season, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Baez was not in the lineup Saturday, though manager Luis Rojas stated that Baez isn't dealing with an injury. Baez will also be available off the bench if needed. If this is the end of his campaign, Baez will head into free agency having posted a .265/.319/.494 line with 31 homers, 87 RBI, 80 runs scored and 18 stolen bases across 546 plate appearances.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Riding pine Saturday

Edman isn't starting Saturday's game against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Edman will get a chance to reset after he went 1-for-9 with a run, a stolen base and a strikeout across the last two games. Edmundo Sosa (wrist) will return to the lineup at second base while Paul DeJong starts at shortstop.
