Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Tossed from second doubleheader contest
Baez was ejected from the second game of Saturday's doubleheader for arguing balls and strikes, Bruce Miles of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
Baez and manager Joe Maddon were tossed after a checked swing that was called for strike three by umpire Will Little that wasn't appealed . It didn't appear that Baez said anything, but he was ejected after throwing his equipment to the ground. After going 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in the opening contest, the MVP candidate will end the second game an 0-for-3 and the controversial strikeout.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Big day with bat
Baez went 3-for-4 with a steal, a run and a pair of RBI in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Baez has hardly changed his approach, walking just 3.7 percent of the time, but he's having a career year nonetheless. He's setting career highs in all three triple-slash categories (.295/.328/.564). His 19 steals easily surpass his previous high of 12, and he's on pace for 32 homers after previously hitting no more than 23. His 74 RBI lead the National League.

Daniel Castro SS | COL
Rockies' Daniel Castro: Designated for assignment
Castro was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Saturday.
Castro appeared in 18 games for the Rockies this season but didn't do much with the opportunity, hitting a meager .174/.191/.261. His weak .210/.240/.265 career line won't make him a hot commodity on the waiver wire. Garrett Hampson's contract was selected in a corresponding move.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Resumes fielding activities
Crawford (hand) resumed fielding grounders and playing catch Friday, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
Crawford has been on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured left hand since being hit by a pitch in mid-June, and was originally expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks. The 23-year-old will likely require a minor-league rehab assignment after missing the last month, and a return at the end of July currently appears optimistic.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Not in Thursday's lineup
Baez is out of the lineup against the Cardinals on Thursday.
Baez will take a seat to begin the second half of the 2018 campaign after participating in the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game earlier in the week. In his place, Ben Zobrist will man second base and bat out of the cleanup spot. Look for Baez to return to the starting nine Friday.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Picks up three hits during Tuesday's game
Arcia went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored during Tuesday's Triple-A outing against Round Rock.
Arcia has hit .316/.458/.526 with two home runs and six RBI over 11 games since being optioned to Colorado Springs in early July. The shortstop was sent down in order to work on his swing, as he was hitting just .197 with a .482 OPS over 66 games with the Brewers at the time of his demotion. Though Arcia is starting to show signs of progress at the Triple-A level, Tyler Saladino has seemingly captured the role of everyday shortstop for Milwaukee, picking up multiple hits in four of the past five games heading into the All-Star break.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Walks off with 20th homer
Story went 1-for-4 with a walkoff solo home run to send the Rockies to a 4-3 victory over the Mariners on Sunday.
Story continued his recent home-run barrage in dramatic fashion with this game-ending blast off Nick Vincent. That gives him four long balls in his last seven games and 20 on the season in what has been a phenomenal first half for the 25-year-old All-Star, who is now slashing a robust .292/.353/.557 through 366 at-bats.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Knocks in two
Rojas went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Phillies.
Rojas drove in a pair during the fifth inning on a single to center field, giving Miami a 6-5 lead. The 29-year-old is off to a solid start in the month of July as he's hitting .304 with four RBI and three stolen bases through 14 games. Rojas will enter the break sporting a .254/.309/.348 slash line and a .657 OPS over 95 games in the first half.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Plates two runs
Turner went 1-for-5 with two RBI during Sunday's 6-1 victory over the Mets.
Turner extended the lead to five in the seventh inning after plating a pair on a single to left. The 25-year-old shortstop went 3-for-15 during Philadelphia's four-game series against the Mets, and he'll enter the All-Star break batting .267 with 11 home runs and 39 RBI over 96 games.

Chase d'Arnaud SS | SF
Giants' Chase d'Arnaud: Sees surge in starts
D'Arnaud will serve as the Giants' leadoff hitter and start at third base Sunday against the Giants.
D'Arnaud seems to have worked his way into a platoon at third base with Pablo Sandoval, as the former will enter the lineup for the third consecutive game in which the Giants have opposed a left-handed starting pitcher. Since being promoted from Triple-A Sacramento, d'Arnaud has gone 5-for-17 with a home run, but the 31-year-old's career .226/.281/.314 line over 200 games in the majors suggests he doesn't warrant much intrigue in the fantasy realm.
