Story is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Story will get the day off after starting 19 straight games at shortstop and going 17-for-66 (.258) with three homers over that span. Ian Desmond will take over for Story at shortstop Monday, and the second-year man could continue losing playing time to Desmond down the stretch with Gerardo Parra and Carlos Gonzalez swinging hot bats in the outfield.

Baez was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Pirates due to a sore thumb, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

While Baez was originally in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener, he appears to have aggravated his thumb during pregame warmups, resulting in his removal from the lineup. The issue doesn't appear to be anything overly serious, and the Cubs are hoping he'll be available off the bench Monday before returning to the lineup Tuesday. Consider Baez day-to-day for now; Mike Freeman is starting at shortstop in his place.

Baez (blurred vision) is back in the lineup Monday against the Pirates.

Baez had to exit Sunday's game following a collision at second base, and that resulted in a precautionary trip to the hospital where he reported suffering from blurred vision. Despite the early symptoms, manager Joe Maddon came out and said after the game that he didn't expect Baez to miss much time. Maddon's assessment will turn out to be accurate, as Baez will bat eighth and start at shortstop the day after the collision. Fantasy owners currently benefiting from his career-best home run (21) and RBI (67) totals can breathe a sigh of relief.

DeJong went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Giants.

DeJong erased an early 1-0 deficit with a 386-foot shot to left in the fourth, snapping a rare long-ball drought. The slugging rookie had last gone deep Aug. 19 prior to Sunday, with the 12-game span between round trippers equaling the longest such stretch of his young career. DeJong has been productive recently despite keeping the ball in the yard, as he's now hit safely in eight of his last 11 contests.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon said that Baez was suffering from blurred vision after exiting Sunday's loss to the Braves following a collision, but he doesn't expect the infielder to miss much time, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Baez was examined at a local hospital after exiting the contest, but it seems that was just for precautionary purposes. The 24-year-old has settled in as the Cubs' everyday shortstop while Addison Russell (foot) has been sidelined by injury, but in the event Baez is unavailable for the next few days, Ben Zobrist or Mike Freeman could make some starts time at the position.

Camargo (knee) will be activated from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Monday's game against the Rangers,

The Braves haven't revealed their lineup for the series opener, but even if Camargo isn't included in the starting nine, it's expected that he'll see the bulk of the work at third base over the final month of the season. Prior to suffering a freak right knee injury while running onto the field before an Aug. 8 game, Camargo was enjoying a productive rookie season, slashing .292/.327/.454 across 197 plate appearances.

Swanson went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and an RBI Sunday against the Cubs.

Swanson's been much better at the plate since being recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett following a midseason demotion and has now reached base multiple times in 12 of his past 17 games. The first overall pick in the 2015 draft still owns a subpar .238/.319/.342 line, but keep in mind he was sitting at .215/.290/.319 on Aug. 18.

Baez appeared to take a knee to the head in the collision and wasn't quite himself afterward. Look for the team to clarify his status when more information is known, but for now, Mike Freeman will take over at shortstop. Baez drew a walk in his only at-bat prior to the early exit.

Gordon is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Coming off nine straight starts at second base, Gordon will get the day off for the series finale. Derek Dietrich will take over at the keystone in his stead, while also batting atop the order. It's a tough break for fantasy owners to see Gordon sit, as he's been on fire of late. He has 15 base knocks in only his last seven games, and is getting on base at a .516 clip over that stretch.

Baez went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, two RBI and two runs during Saturday's win over Atlanta.

Baez posted a .290/.339/.523 slash line with seven homers, 25 RBI, five stolen bases and 21 runs in August, and Saturday's gem has his strong month continuing into September. There is a lot of game-to-game inconsistency with Baez, but he offers rare cross-category upside and high-end power potential from the middle infield. His eligibility at multiple positions shouldn't be overlooked, either.
