  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Sidelined by hip injury again

The Angels placed Fletcher on the injured list Sunday with a left hip strain.

Fletcher was previously sidelined for two and a half weeks earlier this season with the same hip issue before returning from the IL on April 29. He appeared in only nine games before succumbing to the injury again, however, making it likely that he'll be sidelined for more than the minimum 10 days once again. According to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, the 27-year-old is scheduled to meet with a specialist in the coming days to determine if surgery is necessary to treat the injury. If Fletcher does require a procedure, he said he wouldn't expect to miss the rest of the season, though a multi-month absence would likely be on the table. His absence should pave the way for Tyler Wade to see steady work at the keystone.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Sitting in series finale

Pena is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Unless he's used off the bench as a pinch-hitter, Pena will put his five-game hitting streak on hold while he sits for the second time in five games. Aledmys Diaz will spell Pena at shortstop.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Remains out Sunday

Correa (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Royce Lewis will pick up a third straight start at shortstop while Correa remains on the bench, but the Twins are optimistic the 27-year-old's absence due to the bruised and sore finger on his left hand won't linger much longer. According to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com, Correa is scheduled to receive additional treatment for the finger injury Sunday and could progress to taking dry swings and/or hitting off a tee if he shows enough progress. Correa will benefit from a team off day Monday before the Twins return to action Tuesday against the Astros.

  • Tommy Edman LF | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Adds seventh steal

Edman went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 13-7 loss to the Giants.

Edman's picked up two steals in his last four games, though both have been in contests in which he didn't collect a hit. The second baseman is sporting a 13.3 walk rate, which has helped him post a sturdy .408 on-base percentage through 108 plate appearances. He's up to seven steals, three home runs, 14 RBI and 18 runs scored in 26 games this season.

  • Angels' Andrew Velazquez: Records fourth steal

Velazquez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Saturday in a loss to the Nationals.

Velazquez has quietly racked up four thefts on the season, tying him for first on the team and placing him in a tie for 11th leaguewide. However, the infielder hasn't done much else to earn fantasy consideration, as he's slashing a meek .138/.227/.172 with no homers across 67 plate appearances.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Gets rest day

Anderson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Danny Mendick gets the start at shortstop in place of Anderson, who appears to getting some routine maintenance after he was included in the lineup in each of Chicago's last 15 games. With a pair of multi-hit efforts in the first two games of the series in Boston, Anderson is now sitting on a .337 average for the season.

  • Phillies' Johan Camargo: Playing time likely to pick up

Camargo will start at first base and bat eighth in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Mets, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Though he'll be filling in for a resting Rhys Hoskins in Game 1 of the twin bill, Camargo appears well positioned to serve as the Phillies' primary option at shortstop for at least over the next week and a half after Didi Gregorius (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday. The Phillies recalled prospect Bryson Stott from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to restore some depth in the middle infield, and though he'll start at shortstop in Game 1, he turned in a lowly .328 OPS in 31 plate appearances to begin the season before he was optioned to Lehigh Valley. Meanwhile, Camargo is holding down a .680 OPS over 64 plate appearances on the campaign, which should be enough to make him the preferred option at shortstop over Stott.

  • Diego Castillo 3B | MIN

Pirates' Diego Castillo: Slugs second homer

Castillo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Reds.

Castillo was in the lineup for both of Saturday's games, but his damage came in the first inning of the latter contest when he took Phillip Diehl yard for his second homer of the season. Castillo has earned a near everyday role in Pittsburgh, thanks in large part to his defensive versatility. He hasn't had an inspiring start to the season by maintaining a .254/.282/.358 line across 63 plate appearances, though he has only a 19.7 percent strikeout rate.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Steals fourth base

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base Saturday against the Red Sox.

Anderson led off the game with a single and stole second base with one out to record his fourth swipe of the season. He has collected at least one hit in eight of his last ten starts, during which time he has hit two home runs, driven in three and scored nine runs. Anderson has struck out at only a 10 percent clip across 95 plate appearances to begin the campaign, a significant improvement over his career rate of 23.7 percent.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: May be sidelined Sunday

Crawford (back) said he is feeling better but is unsure if he will play Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Crawford exited Saturday's game with back spasms that appeared to occur as he was diving into first base. Manager Scott Servais added that the team may give Crawford the day off Sunday, though the injury doesn't appear likely to be a long-term issue. Dylan Moore is a potential replacement at shortstop should Crawford rest Sunday.
