  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Will continue wearing glasses

Anderson said after Monday's loss to the Yankees that he plans to wear corrective lenses for the remainder of the season, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

Anderson inquired about additional eye testing beyond what a team normally offers a couple of weeks ago and has been getting used to the lenses since purchasing them. The 24-year-old shortstop has struggled all season but offered a glimmer of hope during Monday's loss when he had two hits and a three-run home run.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Available off bench Tuesday

Seager (hamstring) is available off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Angels, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Seager has now missed four consecutive games with a hamstring strain but is apparently healthy enough to jump into live action if necessary. Despite the fact that he's reportedly healthy enough to play, the Dodgers are not ruling out a trip to the 10-day disabled list. He'll remain day-to-day for the time being.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Held out again Tuesday

Seager (hamstring) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Angels, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Seager will be held out for a fourth straight game as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring strain. Manager Dave Roberts said Seager was at about 80 percent before Monday's contest, so he appears to be nearing a return to action. He'll remain day-to-day; Enrique Hernandez will continue to fill in for him at shortstop.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Takes seat Tuesday

Diaz is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest reports.

Diaz will head to the bench for a breather after appearing in 13 straight games for the Cardinals. Paul DeJong will slide over to shortstop in his stead, while Greg Garcia gets the start at second base.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Gets breather Tuesday

Owings is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Despite riding a 12-game hitting streak, Owings will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day of rest. Nick Ahmed will take over at shortstop in his absence.

  • Padres' Chase d'Arnaud: Placed on paternity list

D'Arnaud was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

D'Arnaud will leave the team to be with his wife and newborn baby for a few days. Manuel Margot was reinstated from the disabled list in a corresponding roster move.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Has three-hit day Monday

DeJong went 3-for-4 with a double and a run in Monday's 8-2 win over the Reds.

The 23-year-old has put together a solid June and has now hit safely in five straight, as well as in nine of his last 11 overall. DeJong also has four home runs and 11 RBI during the month, which has helped lead to a .286/.294/.524 line over his first 85 major-league plate appearances. The pop he's displayed is an extension of the success he was enjoying at Triple-A Memphis before being called up, as he'd already racked up 22 extra-base hits (nine doubles, 13 homers) across his first 48 games of the season with the Redbirds.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | TB

Yankees' Jorge Mateo: Speed remains on display at High-A

Mateo, 22, is hitting .240/.288/.400 with four home runs, 11 RBI and 28 steals through 69 games for High-A Tampa.

Mateo's speed remains his biggest asset, but his on-base skills have been lacking this season. Mateo has drawn just 16 walks while struggling to make contact. He has fanned 79 times in those 69 games. His prospect luster has dimmed a bit over the last year or so, though he remains an intriguing prospect due to his blazing speed.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Could begin rehab assignment soon

Adrianza (abdomen) could head out on a rehab assignment in the coming days, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Adrianza underwent scans on his abdominal area Monday that apparently turned up nothing overly concerning, so the utility infielder is expected to gradually increase his activities before reporting to one of the Twins' minor-league affiliates for game action. The 27-year-old could rejoin the Twins in early July.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Brings hit streak up to 12 games

Owings went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and two runs in Monday's 6-1 win over the Phillies.

The pair of knocks improved Owings' hit streak to a season-best 12 games, but the 25-year-old hasn't seen a dramatic spike in his fantasy production as a result. He's recorded multiple hits in only two of those 12 contests and is batting .292 over that span, which is right on par with his season-long average.
