Heineman (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Brandon Valenzuela will draw a fifth consecutive start at catcher while Heineman recovers from back spasms, but the Blue Jays' willingness to use Heineman off the bench in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-inning win suggests that he could soon be ready to catch a full game. Heineman caught the final three innings of Tuesday's contest and flied out in his lone at-bat.

Crawford isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Crawford will grab a seat on the bench Wednesday after going 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch during Tuesday's series opener. Leo Rivas will fill the void at shortstop and bat ninth.

Palacios will start at second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The left-handed-hitting Palacios has now drawn the last two starts at second base over the right-handed-hitting Ben Williamson when the Rays have faced right-handed pitchers. The two could form a loose platoon at the keystone until Tampa Bay gets Gavin Lux (shoulder/ankle) back from the injured list.

Rodon (elbow/hamstring) is slated to join Double-A Somerset and will face hitters in live batting practice Saturday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Though Rodon had already thrown 50 pitches over three simulated innings against live hitters Monday, the Yankees aren't yet ready to have him begin a rehab assignment and will instead have him pitch in a controlled setting once again this weekend. The veteran southpaw is recovering from October surgery to remove loose bodies and shave down a bone spur from his left elbow in addition to a tight right hamstring that cropped up a couple of weeks ago. He's without an official timeline to be activated from the 15-day injured list but appears to be trending toward an early May return.

Grichuk is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Grichuk will hit the bench after starting in each of the Yankees' last three games, the past two of which came against southpaws. He had been hitless on the season heading into Tuesday's 7-1 loss before breaking through with an eighth-inning double off Reid Detmers. Grichuk is likely to be limited to a short-side platoon role moving forward.

Adams (triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Fort Myers on Wednesday, Theodore Tollefson of Zone Coverage reports.

Adams has been sidelined all season with a triceps issue that first popped up in early March. Given the long layoff, he's sure to require multiple rehab starts before the Twins make the decision of whether to add him to the big-league roster or keep him in the minors.

The Astros placed Bolton on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with mid-back inflammation, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Bolton was lifted from his previous start Sunday against the Mariners with a back issue that had lingered since his previous outing. The injury doesn't seem to be a long-term issue, but the loss of Bolton for any period of time represents yet another blow to the Astros' rotation depth.

The Astros recalled Arrighetti from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Arrighetti is set to start Wednesday's game at home against the Rockies in what will be his first start with the big club this season. The right-hander had been in a groove with Sugar Land, authoring a 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB over 14.1 innings in his first three starts. The Houston rotation has been decimated by injuries, providing Arrighetti with an opportunity to stick around indefinitely.

Frazier will start at second base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

For the Angels' third straight matchup versus a right-handed starting pitcher (Luis Gil), Frazier will receive the nod at second base. Over a limited sample of 26 plate appearances this season, Frazier has produced a strong .848 OPS, so he could hold the edge at keystone over Oswald Peraza and Vaughn Grissom until his bat inevitably cools down.

Fortes is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the White Sox.

Fortes has been the Rays' primary catcher this season, but he will get a breather Wednesday in the second contest of a three-game set. Hunter Feduccia is behind the dish and batting eighth for Tampa Bay.
