Montgomery went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI on Friday against the Mariners.

Montgomery recorded a bases-clearing double in the third inning to account for all of his RBI. He extended his hitting streak to four games and also has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 starts. In those 10 contests, Montgomery has hit .231, but he has also chipped in two homers, seven RBI and four runs scored.

Madden is slated to pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Burch Smith in Saturday's game against the Royals, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

The Tigers initially listed Madden as their starting pitcher for Saturday's contest, but he'll instead work as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen after he fared well in that capacity earlier in the week. After being summoned from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Madden worked behind Tyler Holton later that night against the Red Sox and struck out seven over five scoreless innings of relief in his 2026 MLB debut. Detroit will soon get reinforcement to its pitching staff with Framber Valdez (suspension) due back Wednesday, but Madden should be able to hold down a spot in the rotation until the Tigers get at least two of Tarik Skubal (elbow), Casey Mize (adductor), Justin Verlander (hip) and Troy Melton (elbow) back from the injured list.

Greene went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Royals.

Greene continued his strong recent play, as he's batting .333 over his last 10 games with a home run, two RBI and six runs scored. For the season, he's slashing .309/.404/.475 across 39 contests. The batting average and on-base percentage would both be new career highs for Greene, as would his .879 OPS. His power is a bit down from last season, but the talented outfielder is proving that he can still be effective offensively.

Walters (lat) was returned from his rehab assignment due to a viral illness, MLB.com reports.

Walters hasn't pitched since April 24. Once he returns to full strength, the right-hander will commence a new rehab stint.

Murakami went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Friday against the Mariners.

Murakami got the White Sox on the board in the first inning and tied Aaron Judge for the league lead in home runs with 15. Murakami continues to showcase his prodigious power, tallying four homers in his last 10 games. He has also struck out at a 37.2 percent clip in that span, and he continues to have an extreme three-true-outcomes skills profile.

Armstrong (groin) threw a bullpen session Friday, MLB.com reports.

The Guardians will evaluate Armstrong's response to the session before sending him out on a rehab assignment. The right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list retroactive to April 23 and can rejoin the club at any time.

Bubic didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Tigers, allowing three earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

Bubic held the Tigers to just one run through five innings, but things began to get away from him in the sixth. After walking the first batter of the inning, Bubic recorded two outs before giving up an RBI double to Wenceel Perez. The southpaw was replaced on the mound immediately afterward by Nick Mears, who gave up another double to Spencer Torkelson, allowing Perez to score. Some late-game heroics from the Royals' offense kept Bubic from taking his second loss of the season, so he'll keep his 3-1 record and take a 3.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his start next week against the White Sox. Bubic has gone at least five innings in all but one of his eight starts this season.

Montero took a no-decision against the Royals on Friday, giving up one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out four batters over six innings.

After allowing a double to Jac Caglianone and a single to Isaac Collins to give Kansas City its first run in the second inning, Montero retired 13 of the next 15 batters he faced and finished the sixth inning with a 3-1 lead. A late-game collapse from Detroit's bullpen forced the 25-year-old to settle for a no-decision, but it was still a very strong start despite the outcome. He's allowed just two earned runs over his last 12.2 innings and will aim to keep the good times rolling during his next start against the struggling Mets.

Raley went 2-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI during Friday's 12-8 victory over the White Sox.

After striking out in his first at-bat, Raley took advantage of his bases-loaded opportunity in the third and hit a grand slam off starter Sean Burke to give Seattle a 5-1 lead. The Sox caught up within half an inning, but Raley's three-run homer off Tyler Davis in the seventh put the M's ahead 9-5 and ensured Chicago would trail for the rest of the game. Now with eight homers on the season, Raley has surpassed Cal Raleigh to claim the highest total on the team.

Burke (2-3) took the loss against the Mariners on Friday, giving up six earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 4.1 innings.

The right-hander's first bases-loaded jam resulted in just one run scoring after he hit Cole Young with a pitch in the second inning. Burke wasn't as fortunate in the third, as Luke Raley unloaded the bases with a 372-foot grand slam into right field. Chicago's offense tied the game the next half inning, but Julio Rodriguez's solo shot in the fifth put Burke back on the hook for the loss. Now sporting a 3.68 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 44 innings through his first eight starts, Burke will look to take advantage of a matchup against a low-scoring Royals offense during his next outing.
