Andres Munoz RP | SEA
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Battling tight back
Munoz was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to lower-back tightness, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
The Mariners closer entered for the ninth inning of a 7-1 game since he hadn't pitched in nearly a week, and he allowed both batters he faced to reach before departing with the injury. The initial diagnosis is encouraging since it's not an arm issue, and Munoz should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener versus Baltimore

Alejandro Osuna LF | TEX
Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Promoted, starting Sunday
The Rangers recalled Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday. He'll start in center field and bat ninth Sunday against the Red Sox.
The Rangers have lost both Evan Carter (oblique) and Michael Helman (hand) to the injured list within the past two days, so Osuna will rejoin the 26-man active roster and immediately enter the starting nine. The 23-year-old has a .253/.376/.275 slash line with a 12:15 BB:K in 110 plate appearances in the big leagues, and he could see semi-regular action against right-handed pitching while the Texas outfield is banged up.

Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA
Angels' Oswald Peraza: Sitting after four straight starts
Peraza is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Peraza will hit the bench for the series finale after he went 3-for-17 with a double, two steals, three RBI and a run while starting in each of the last four games. Nick Madrigal will fill in at the keystone in place of a resting Peraza.

Trey Mancini 1B | LAA
Angels' Trey Mancini: Handling bench role
Mancini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Mancini had started in three of the Angels' four games following his promotion from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, but his run as a near-everyday player proved to be short-lived. With Nolan Schanuel having since moved past a lingering ankle injury, Mancini will be relegated to the bench for a second straight game.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Handed afternoon off
O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
O'Hoppe will be given a break in the series finale after he started in each of the Angels' previous three contests. Logan Porter will handle the catching duties for the Halos in what will be his first MLB start since Sept. 30, 2023.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Missing third straight start
Seager (ribs/jaw) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Seager will be held out of the starting nine for a third straight day while he contends with ribs and jaw soreness stemming from a collision at home plate in Thursday's win over the Royals. Per MLB.com, manager Skip Schumaker relayed Saturday that Seager's condition has improved, but it's unclear if the five-time All-Star will be available off the bench for the series finale. Ezequiel Duran will cover shortstop in place of Seager on Sunday.

Andres Munoz RP | SEA
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Departs with apparent injury
Munoz was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent injury, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Making his first appearance in nearly a week, Munoz allowed a hit and a walk on nine pitches before exiting the contest with training staff. It's the second notable injury of the day for Seattle, which also saw Josh Naylor (shin) depart after fouling a pitch off himself.

Nick Fortes C | TB
Rays' Nick Fortes: Stuck in short side of platoon
Fortes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
Fortes still looks to be part of a platoon at catcher with the left-handed-hitting Hunter Feduccia. After making four straight starts -- all against left-handed pitching -- to begin the week, Fortes has hit the bench for the last two games in favor of Feduccia while the Rays have opposed right-handed starters.
-
Ryan Vilade RF | TB
Rays' Ryan Vilade: Stuck in platoon role
Vilade is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
Vilade recently wrapped up a stretch of five consecutive starts -- four against lefties, one against a righty -- during which he went 5-for-15 with two walks, a double, a stolen base, a run and an RBI, but he'll be on the bench for a second straight game. Both of those absences have come versus right-handed pitching, so the Rays still seem to be viewing Vilade as primarily a short-side platoon player.

Hunter Feduccia C | TB
Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Making second straight start
Feduccia will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Angels.
Feduccia will stick behind the plate for a second straight game following a recent four-game stretch in which Nick Fortes received the starting nod at catcher in each of those contests. All four of Fortes' starts came while the Rays faced left-handed pitching, so Feduccia still looks to be occupying the strong side of a platoon.
