The Tigers acquired Paddack and right-hander Randy Dobnak from the Twins on Monday in exchange for catcher Enrique Jimenez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Paddack has had an up-and-down 2025 campaign, posting a 4.95 ERA and 83:27 K:BB across 111 innings covering 21 starts. He's coming off a dandy of a performance his last time out on the road against the Dodgers last Wednesday, striking out eight over six innings of one-run ball. With Reese Olson (shoulder) set to miss the rest of the regular season, Paddack seems to have been brought in specifically to replace Olson in the rotation.

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre placed Davis on its 7-day injured list June 26 due to an unspecified injury.

A former top prospect in the Cubs organization who was the 2021 All-Star Futures Game MVP, Davis saw his star fade in recent seasons while he was slowed by several injuries. After being non-tendered by the Cubs over the winter, Davis connected with the Yankees on a minor-league deal and had seemed to restore some value upon getting cleared to join Double-A Somerset in late May. He quickly earned a promotion to Triple-A and had slashed .308/.415/.692 with nine home runs and two steals in 23 games between the two affiliates, but any momentum Davis might have made toward earning his first big-league call-up appears to have stalled. The 25-year-old exited a June 22 game after crashing into the outfield wall and was placed on the IL a few days later, with the Yankees having yet to provide further word on the severity of his latest setback on the health front.

Schmidt (elbow) revealed Monday that the UCL surgery he underwent July 11 was an internal brace procedure, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.

Having the internal brace procedure rather than a full Tommy John repair gives Schmidt a much better chance of contributing next season, with the righty proclaiming Monday that he'll "be a factor next year." According to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News, Schmidt is expected to face a recovery timeline of 11-to-13 months, whereas a traditional Tommy John surgery would entail a 14-to-16-month recovery period. Schmidt previously underwent Tommy John surgery back in 2017 before he was drafted.

Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Peraza will hit the bench for the third game in a row and will likely see limited use in a utility role for the foreseeable future after the Yankees addressed their need for an everyday third baseman by acquiring Ryan McMahon from the Rockies over the weekend. Before McMahon's arrival, Peraza had been serving as New York's primary option at the hot corner, but the 25-year-old has slashed just .152/.212/.241 over 170 plate appearances with the Yankees on the season and doesn't look ready for extended playing time in the majors.

Rice is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

He had started in four of the Yankees' last five games, but Rice will give way to Paul Goldschmidt at first base as New York opens a four-game set with Tampa Bay. Rice has gotten off to a slow start to the second half, recording four hits (one home run, two doubles) in 24 at-bats through his first nine games.

Arias is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest against the Rockies.

Arias started each of the first three games for the Guardians upon his return from the 10-day injured list last week, but he'll get a breather for Monday's series opener. Brayan Rocchio will handle shortstop and hit eighth.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

Naylor will take a seat for the series opener while Austin Hedges catches for right-hander Slade Cecconi on Monday. Since the All-Star break, Naylor has gone 4-for-23 with a home run, two doubles, three walks, three RBI and four runs in seven contests.

Robert (forearm) will start in center field and bat sixth in Monday's game versus the Phillies.

Robert was struck on the right forearm by a pitch in the ninth inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs, but X-rays came back clean, and he's made enough progress to re-enter the lineup a day later. The 27-year-old has finally heated up at the plate with a .926 OPS in July and is good bet to be traded to a contender ahead of Thursday's deadline.

The Tigers recalled Ibanez from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Ibanez has been with Toledo since early June but will get another chance in the big leagues after slashing .268/.376/.437 this month in the minors. The 32-year-old should see some reps for the Tigers against left-handed pitching and will enter the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks, manning third base and batting sixth.

The Guardians recalled Herrin from Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Herrin will join the Cleveland bullpen in place of Emmanuel Clase (personal), who was placed on administrative leave through Aug. 31 due to his involvement in MLB's gambling investigation. Though the absence of Clase creates a void in the ninth inning, Herrin is likely to be used in middle relief initially rather than factoring into the mix for saves. The 28-year-old lefty has posted a 3.99 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 28:22 K:BB in 29.1 innings with the big club this season.
